Finally, people who remember Chima! I'm happy to see people do creative MOCs with this franchise. RIP Chima
Chima had a ton of potential, especially if they had given it a buy more of a serious/mature story/presentation a la Bionicle. They were also incredibly generous with minis and weapons, it SCREAMED "make armies of us"
@@Kepora1 Chima does have a mature story; it's just that the execution of it was immature. If Chima had writers that actually saw the potential in the show's pacifist, anti-r4c1sm, anti-war and pro diversity lessons, the theme would've been highly praised and it would've lived for more than it did.
Bionicle was more violent and directed towards young boys, so writing Chima with Bionicle in mind would've been very contradictory to the story of Chima. However, Chima should've had writers that took their writing seriously, just like Bionicle writers.
@@SheHulk-jg2jc self censoring the word "racism" really hurts your argument. But yes, they needed writers and artists willing to rip off the bandaid.

Never had any of these CCBS sets other than Bionicle, so it’s always fun to see how people use them creatively
Kinda wish Chima had continued, apparently next we were going to get Dinosaur characters.
Would have made for some really cool mocs if we got ultrabuild sets of those characters.
Imagine if they had done a scrap/scavenger themed set of hyenas/gnolls, like all their vehicles look Orky and scrapped together, possibly include parts that are references to sets from other themes too.
@@Kepora1 Ravens already follow this aesthetic; their sets are all made out of scraps, as they live in unfortunate conditions. They are way smarter than the Eagles, but because they don't have the privilege of being allied with the Lions, they don't have much access to Chi, which is a vital resource to all tribes, thus making them hunt for scraps, unlike the Eagles who have complex technology. That's why the Ravens became allies with the rebels (or the season 1 villains!), alongside the fact that they were bribed too.

Chima constraction sets have the best pieces for elegant paladin warriors, as well as animal builds. Imagine these styled parts being used for Journey to the West characters in Monkie Kid, it would fit perfectly since they often are in regal gold/silver/gunmetal armor and are largely animalistic in appearance (Sun Wukong, Demon Bull King, Pigsy, etc).

3:16 I'd have to track it down again but I remember seeing a moc using 2 of those wolf heads to act as a psuedo cerberus inspired look!
The Chima ultrabuilds we're my first CCBS sets, Chi Cragger was my first.
1:13 Chima Lore just got dropped on us there... Dang!
I did some revamps of a few of the sets they released, hell I even made a MOC of Cragger's sister so the two siblings can be side by side :D
I also made use of the big torso piece for a Hero Factory MOC.
For some reason, these wave 2 ultrabuild sets never reached stores in my area, so I never got them. It's a shame, because I was looking forward to those chest pieces, golden armor, and printed pieces.
They were never sold in your area because of Ninjago fans.

Thanks! :D And I have enjoyed him quite a bit; now that it's been revamped a little by using his paw pieces as shoulder armor like Core Hunter has, since I thought the original design was lacking a bit of a bulk in that area.

Ordered a 1.0 Breeze and got the fire version of the lion chima dude. Not really what I wanted or similar in value but still kinda useful lol thanks Ben 😊

I think the lion heads could work for like a character who wears a lion pelt, like Heracles or something
My favorite chima ultrabuild is worriz hes my first chima ultra build and also my first Christmas gift thats not crappy bootlegs im really wanna revamp him but is still thinking what should look like
I loved my Laval and Eris sets. I say loved because i have adhd and decided "hey i want to make something else with these pieces, imma take my sets apart to do so". Before i knew about bricklink and all the other part ordering places

In Korea, the title of "chima" was changed to "kima." Because the pronunciation of "chima" was the same as the women's skirt. Some funny facts 😅
I used the panther head in a fire lion moc.
That dragon moc also used a few masks of big cheeeks.....

I made a Cerberus with multiples of the wolf character.
I just realized croc warrior was made by chubbybots and was submitted by kelvin low…see the connection yet? Kelvin low and chubby bots are the same person(and i might go to bricks and minifigs for a moc I’m thinking about that uses ccbs chima parts like the torso and shoulder armor in gold)
i actually do have some parts of chima ccbs figs. sadly, no complete figs, it came in load of "bionicle huge bin" which i got for 20 euros (there were complete witch doc and von nebula, together with load of another figs, mostly hero factory, and one throwbot)
