so good! was wondering if these tips especially in temperature checking will also be the same for soy wax.
I liked that so muck also the two lovely ladies amazing
Plz tell me size of jars. How much oz can be poured in them.?
sorry to be so off topic but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account?
I was stupid lost the password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Tripp Kristopher instablaster =)
I know this video is like 3 years old but I love how this is actually her taking advice from a person. She’s not overcrowding her with her own candle making experience and she’s acknowledging that she still has things to learn. All in all just a great video.
Thank you so much!!
truth. Flower showed great patience with a naturally excited student, too.
Love watching Anne-Marie work on a newer skill! And love the guest!
Flower is amazing and very generous to share her techniques.
Both of you are such great teachers and have such loving approaches to making these wonderful candles. Thank you so so so much for this tutorial.
Thank you so much!
Thank you Anne-Marie & Flower for the colab - really helpful tips on making Beeswax Candles
"You don't have to stare at it."
Okay, but I'm gonna, melting wax is hypnotic.
Now put a cotton ball in those little beakers that you had the essential oils in and swirl the cotton ball around it and place it somewhere where you want that scent to be and therefore you don't waste all that beautiful residue of oil.
They got plenty of dough, wasting oil is just a flex.
Sink holes as noted are due to lots of temperature reasons as noted. Another reason for the hole on top comes from pouring over the height of the shoulder of the jar is a reaction from the distance between the inside spec changing. This is found in injection molding process as well. When injecting plastic into a mold tool with a positive space coming out, i.e. the shoulder of the jar, it can cause a negative space opposite of it, creating a sink hole. Thanks for all your tips!
Thank you Anne Marie for all your great videos. I hope you know how much you inspire people. I love all the Bramble Berry products you sell and I just put in another order. I’m a beginner soap maker and your videos have furthered my learning, without them It wouldn’t have been possible for me to make soap. Now I’ m going to attempt to make candles. Stay sweet and know you have a watcher, learner and customer in me! Keep up the good work, you are lovely! And I can’t wait for the honey fragrances to arrive! 👍🏻
A lot of tips, advices and informations about candle making. This is really helps me a lot since I am planning to selling candle. I learnt new a thing today regarding the container size.
Liquid beeswax occupies a slightly larger volume than solid beeswax because the molecules are free-floating. When they solidify, they form weak bonds to each other, which makes them denser. This happens with most liquids, with the exception of water.
You ladies are so fun to watch I can’t wait to try this🥰
Very imformative video... I've used the tall hexagonal jars before but I adore the squat jars, they look so much more stylish.
Great! Just in time for Holiday projects. Thank you.
Wow beautiful 😻 I love it candle 🕯💕💕💕🌸 great job 👏 I
Bramble is my go to for candle info. I love it
This is AWESOME! Learning so much! 💕🥰🌼🐝🐝🐝🐝
Thank you these will be great for camping. I love bees wax candles
Thank you for this awesome video! Are you concerned with the flash point of the essential oils? I haven't mastered the use of essential oils in my candles, because they scare me with their fragility.
Flower is so cute! She kind of reminds me of Grimes. You should get Jeneé from dirty laundry back on. She was hilarious and such a joy to watch in those early videos you had with her
Would love to see you two again!
Hi Bramble Berry, is it safe to use essential oil that have a lower flash point than beeswax? Will this result in the oil just evaporating without giving its smell? example the fir needle essential oil used in the holiday blend is flash point of 43 celsius.
Yes, you can use an essential oil with a low flashpoint in beeswax, though the overall scent throw will be lighter than with a higher flashpoint oil.
Thank you so much for this video and these wonderful blends~ So looking forward to using these blends! What are your thoughts on using these Essential oil blends in soaps?
Hi! I just watch this as I'm a newbie for making candles... I'd like to know... can you use wooden sticks for these candles? I personally do not care for the wicks 🤷♀
I love patchouli too 😄
have a question for you and I hope to hear from you if you have time! I’m currently making beef Tallow Candles but I’m having a difficult time finding a cost effective way to add scent. I have used essential oil‘s but I have to use over 60 drops to even get a smell. I don’t want to use fragrance oils because they’re not natural. Would you recommend that I mix the tallow with another fat like coconut oil? Do you think these two would mix well or is there another one you would recommend?
Thank you!
Life By Ritual is such good name for a skin care Business wow
Are you adding more essential oil to the candles than the usual 1 oz oil per 1lb wax ratio because you are using beeswax or is that how much you should use for any type of wax?
I'm thinking of starting my own candle business and I'm curious if the change in the fragrance of the essential oils, is it bad that it changes its scent? and how much does it change? if I were to use lavender, would it not smell like lavender or would the fragrance just dull over time?
Use fragrance oils instead. Not essential oils
@@bossmanandjeremiah that’s what I ended up using.
@@Dacucio Hey! Where they better or worse than essential oils?
Are your essential oil pure? I use dōTerra and I want to use yours to buy batch but im nervous to switch. Where are the EOs sourced? Do you have a third party tester? Is there a place to go and see your test results for the purity?
Great information. Thanks for sharing
Some people say that you can't use essential oils in candles because they burn and their fragrance disappears. What do you think of this claim?
Great video!
I make candles but I've been using a paraffin based waxed and am excited to try these beeswax candles! What type of beeswax was used to make these candles? And can I use fragrance oils rather than essential oils? I've never used them before.
We used our Premium Yellow Beeswax for these candles. You can find that here: www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-product/ingredients/waxes/premium-yellow-beeswax/V001192.html
You can definitely use fragrance oils for this project as well! You may want to make a small test candle with the fragrance oil to make sure you like the way it smells in your candle.
@@bramble-berry thank you for your response. I will follow up with the link and use your guide lines for the fragrance oils....😊😊😊
Thanks for making such an informative video! I love that you are using all natural beeswax and essential oils. I was hoping you might be able to give me some advice. I am making beeswax candles (with a very small amount of coconut oil mixed in) and I use 100% pure essential oils as well. Once the wax hardens, I smell the essential oils a lot, however, once I burn my candles, I really don't smell any hint of the essential oils anymore. Am I using too much / too little of the essential oils? I also mostly always use wood wicks, could that affect the smell at all? Any suggestions you have I would greatly appreciate! Thanks so much!
Essential oils aren't for candles making I heard, try using fragrance oils
I'm obsessed with candles and have been making para soy candles for fun and i love the way the beeswax candles look....but i dont know if I would want to get into making them to sell because they look like a big mess to clean up.
Nice, very informative vid.
Great video, thank you.☺️
Hi bramble berry, I watched ur videos and tried to make beeswax candles in glass jar. I have faced an issue. After making jar candle, I leaved it to on home Temp for drying. After some time, wax has been cracked in side jar. Am not mixed any substance, oil or essential oil. How to avoid this? And one more question is about tunnelling. How to avoid this also?
Waiting ur reply. Thanks from India.
It sounds like you might have poured your wax in while it was a little too hot. If you haven't seen it already, we have another video with Flower going over tips and tricks for beeswax candles.
How to Make Beeswax Candles - Tips and Tricks from an Expert Candlemaker: ruclips.net/video/FL0CEqdg9PA/видео.html
Thanks for reply @brambleberry
Yes you told right. I was poured melted wax in jar when it was too hot. I did same cz, I feared that it will dry quickly. The video link u given in cmnt box, I already watched few months ago. And whats about tunnelling? How to avoid this? Am facing this issue even I make candle in glass jar.
@@bramble-berry and one more question is how much time should be wait to pour melted wax in jar after melted the wax? Sorry I don't know English perfectly.
@@mahaveerindra If you're experiencing tunneling, you might be using a container that is too large or a wick that is too small. Try adjusting one of those to see if that works. As for pouring the wax, the best temperature to pour beeswax is 155-160° F, so your wait time will depend on how hot you got the wax in the melting process.
Hey !
I tried making white beeswax candle with wooden wick.
Added the fragrance oil at 165 F, all went well until when the candle burned and solidified again ( the melted max ) turned dark. Like if a light green color was added , the re - solidified wax in the candle became brownish - green. Any suggestion why did this happen?
Amazing questions and responses:)))
Would wood wicks do fine? Or would you guys recommend to stick to cotton wicks?
Wood wicks are great, they give off a wonderful crackling sound while burning! We offer several sizes of wood wicks on our website: www.brambleberry.com/search?q=wood+wick&lang=default
Thank you so much
Are ceramic or sterling silver containers safe to use?
When making Beewax candles, always use square braid wicks.
What is the fire gun type of equipment used by Anne Marie? When, how, and why is it used?
Hiya, are the blends for 16OZ weight of wax? What if I want to do less? Thanks.
Can you use something other than essential oils to scent the candles or is that a bad idea?
Fragrance oils with a high enough flash point (temperature it can handle) work very well.
Synthetic fragrances and paraffin wax are toxic and are major liver disrupters. If you want to spare your liver, only use 100% beeswax and 100% essential oils.
What kind of a wick did you use?
What is the torch used to melt the beeswax?
Is there a concern about using essential oils in candles if people have cats?
Or birds? I know there are some like cedar and tea tree that they aren't supposed to inhale or be around if the aroma is really strong. That is a great question!
The first time I made a beeswax candle I used lavender e.o. the scent burned off quickly and had a bit of gasoline smell.
Definitely be careful using a lot of essential oils around pets. A small candle should be fine.
In my research there's always essential oils you can't use around pets. ALWAYS check with your vet or do your research first. Just to be safe.
I think to be on the safe side, I would stay away from Peppermint, Wintergreen, Tea tree, Cinnamon and Birch. There are essential oils that are safe and non toxic but I would err on the side of caution with your furry friends!
Hello. can someone guide me on how many mL of essential oils should I use for every batch of candles please? or for 1 candle how many mL of essential oil should I use?
To calculate how much essential oil you can add to your candle batch, we recommend using the fragrance calculator located on our website. As always, make sure you are picking essential oils that are rated safe for use in candles.
Bramble Berry Fragrance Calculator: www.brambleberry.com/calculator?calcType=fragrance
whats the size of these jars plz tell me
Can we use this candle as a lotion candle?
This particular recipe would not do well as a lotion candle. We do not recommend beeswax for those projects due to the high melting point.
Many thanks for your response 😊
What size and styles wicks do u use please
We offer many sizes and styles of wicks on our website. You can find our Wick Size Guide on our website. www.brambleberry.com/how-to/candles/Art0249-candle-wick-guide.html
I use 101% beeswax in my candles and I use vegan friendly containers.
I’ve bought bees works tea light candles from Whole Foods that come in plastic containers 👀
What temp setting would i put the water on low heat or boiling water??
I usually put it on low to medium. It takes longer but you don't want the water to boil and get in the wax!
Beeswax naturally shrinks as it cools.
so good! was wondering if these tips especially in temperature checking will also be the same for soy wax.
Recommended temperatures will be different when working with soy wax, and will vary depending on what kind of soy wax you're using. The industry standard is to pour around 135° F, or just as the wax starts to look slightly opaque, but some wax can be poured as high as 160-175° F.
ruclips.net/video/7u1yT-r0jm0/видео.html
Have you done a video of mixing soy and beeswax together?
We have! We mix soy and beeswax in one of our favorite projects, the Succulent Candle Project: ruclips.net/video/T0OANbi2s90/видео.html
سلام شمع من لایه لایه میشه وسایه ميندازه روی شيشه چطور مشکلم رو حل کنم گاهی هم سطح شمع گود میشه
Most imperfections are caused by temperature. If the wax is too cool, it may harden into clumps and splash into the container as you pour. If it's too hot, it can crack or form air bubbles. The best way to prevent that is to pour the wax when it's 155-160° F, or when it has that film on top. You can use the creme brulee torch to gently graze the top of the candle and smooth out the surface.
❤❤
so I get a wicks that matches the measurements of the Demeter of the jar im using ?
Yes! www.brambleberry.com/search?q=wicks&lang=default
What is the percentage essential oil to wax?
I just wanted to ask the same... as for soaps its 2% i wonder whts is like for candles
With candles it's not as particular as soap as it's not going on the skin. More of preference
At about 12:15 into the video, she says she recommends between 1.5 to 2 ounces essential oil per pound of wax. But I imagine that depends on the potency of the oils.
@@sarahjohnson1435 I usually plan about 30 ml (1 oz) of oils per pound of wax. You are right though, it depends on the potency of the oils!
WHY DO YOU HAVE A WOODEN MICROWAVE
It's not. It's a sticker.
What is the name of her skin care line I've played it back 5 times still can't hear it😅😅
Her aromatherapy and skincare line can be found on her website. www.bigdipperwaxworks.com/
@bramble-berry thank u I found it
sigh... My candles never smell when burning. They smell is you smell an unlit candle but when burning you just smell nothing.

We used beeswax for this video, all of our beeswaxes are available here: www.brambleberry.com/search?q=beeswax&prefn1=LabelProductType3&prefv1=Waxes&selectedView=grid
You don't talk about curing rates at all. Other candle making professionals say to let beeswax cure for 7-10 days to get proper hardness.
You can absolutely do this, we recommend waiting at least 24 hours to let your candle set up before burning it.

What is your favorite thermometer gun?
im sorry i dont like the bull ring in nose. please forgive me. i grew up on a farm disobediant bulls get a ring in nose and put on chain away from things. please forgive me
I'm extremely disappointed that safety when burning essential oils around pets was not discussed. Various essential oils are extremely toxic to animals and will poison them when burning them in candles!! Please please please post some warning labels on these posts, it's the responsible thing to do!! 🤷♀️☠️
