My local in SoCal had this for $19.99. At that price a 6 yr old finished offering with seasonal notes is more than welcome. Very much enjoy it as a low proof option. Hope to see more of these type offerings hit the market.
This was released in my area back in October and I was able to sample it at the store before I bought it. Not crazy about drinking this neat, but I bought it for holiday eggnog and for that purpose its EXCELLENT! Happy Thanksgiving to all!
I applied the “base, rounder, accent” blending guideline with this ascthe base, Black 7yr as the rounder, and KC12 as the accent. Really good blend, takes it up a level and creates more of a neat sipper.
I bought it It’s an easy sipper , I drink it on a big cube , is it great, no but it’s easy to drink On your first video, maybe 2 weeks ago when you said Jim beam honey and ice tea , I picked it up. I had a 2 for $4 and my store (Publix) and bought a sweet tea and not sweet tea. Sweet tea works in a fantastic way! Great for housework outside, you can still get f’d up because it’s so easy to drink 🍹 (at 32% it’s 2x of typical wine 🍷) Ice tea and JB honey is fantastic 🎉
I grabbed a bottle a couple weeks ago. I dig it. Gonna back it up while it's still out there. For the price, it's a great pour. Happy Thanksgiving, Jason!
All vanilla & cinnamon. For $24 and 86 proof it is a good mixer but also a decent neat pour. Not upset at all for buying it. Since with taxes over $27 not a bottle I will repurchase. Under $20 I would buy a 2nd.
Man, a 6-year age stated toasted bourbon for $25…this I think is an amazing value. I’m almost done with my bottle and will get one more before they run out. I love it neat, and I haven’t tried it in a cocktail yet. Happy Thanksgiving!
Funny I was just looking at those cut glencairns. Is the designed version that you’re using in this video feel thicker than the original? Nice to see you cover this one. Thankfully I grabbed a bottle but can’t find it anymore. Lastly, I was drinking some Knob Creek smoky maple tonight. I know the flavored stuff gets hated on but this one has a respectable proof and I think it is really good for what it is.
I finally purchased the Benchmark bonded yesterday and I was very surprised at its price point. I think I’m gonna pick up the Beam 7 next time to see what everyone is talking about.
For a nice winter/Christmas inspired drink, an old fashioned made with Barrell amburana is pretty tasty. Not much of an amburana guy but that is pretty tasty.
For the price, I think this bottle is a banger. I’d choose Jim Beam Winter Reserve over a Booker’s any day of the week. Such a great pour. Happy Thanksgiving! Cheers!
@@AppalachianChaplin it’s just a hot take lol. I love Jim Beam products, but you can’t beat a good budget toasted bourbon for 22-30 bucks. And the most recent was the Bookers 2024-03
Got two bottles a few weeks ago. Only planned on buying one but cashier double rang it. So I told the cashier just let me get another and forget calling a manager. 😂🥃
Yeah, I don't think anyone should get this bottle expecting to be blown away. If you're looking for a low proof budget sipper, though, this hits the mark. I grabbed a couple of bottles to have around. Pretty good for what it is.
The Winter Reserve is better than the JB7 and anyone who wants a good low proof option should pick up about three bottles of it. The older I get the more I lean in to low proof stuff, and this one packs some sweet flavor into that 86 proof point.
For me its just Jack Daniels Old No.7 very good mixed with a Coke. I drink them on Sundays watching NFL Red Zone. Also on a hot summer day just love Jack on the rocks. I have so many Jack Daniels rocks glasses got to use them 😂
This was supposed to be a Basil Haydens release, but someone forgot to order the bottles. Now we have proof that the extra $25 really is for the fancy bottle.
I thought the new 7 year was a big disappointment. It didn't capture what the old 8 year "Double Black" had, and which was only 86 proof to the 7 year's 90 proof. The old 8 year had that cherry note that the new black lacks and which is more grass and raw oak tasting.
You asked so here’s what I’m admitting. Screwball Whiskey. Hang on, lemme explain. Screwball Old Fashioned using Mexican Chocolate Bitters and Demerara Syrup. Something about peanut butter and chocolate.
Not good neat, IMHO. I don't like it. Too bitter. Jim Beam should stay trying to replicate the Knob Creek single barrel. The rest of it is just not very good. Again, this is my pallet, and it is not a very good whiskey taster. Lots of cinnimon and some vanilla. OK for the price. I bought it because Matt said it was good......OK. I'm not in concurrance. For the same price I could have bought another WT 101 that is actually good.

Have you had decadence by widow Jane ?

I do hate to admit but I love the Buchanan's Pineapple. It’s a great mixer.
Its good flavor for a low proof. Has a funk to it on fresh crack. Very nice after a week to open up.
All vanilla & cinnamon.

I like this better than the 7 Year. I mean it's not gonna replace KC12 or anything. Still really good for the price.

Crown blackberry is awesome for that just picked blackberry flavor…Jim beam red stag black cherry is amazing with coke

I have a couple of those diamond cut glens and love them. They feel much heavier/solid and make the pour feel just that bit more special.
I got it a couple of months ago...its a good one...especially for $25...
Nice review! I will admit I love a Disaronno and Coke.
If you like a walnut flavor, one of the best things out of Watershed is Nocino. That would make a fantastic walnut old fashioned

Pretty good in eggnog!
For a nice winter/Christmas inspired drink, an old fashioned made with Barrell amburana is pretty tasty. Not much of an amburana guy but that is pretty tasty.
For me, the Wild Turkey - American Honey Sting is my guilty pleasure. Something about the spiciness just elevates it from the regular honey liqueur.
Great bourbon for a great price IMO
I grabbed a bottle of it and prefer Jim Beam Black. It kind of tasted funky to me almost artificial flavoring but I could have just got an off bottle.
For the price, I think this bottle is a banger. I’d choose Jim Beam Winter Reserve over a Booker’s any day of the week. Such a great pour. Happy Thanksgiving! Cheers!
it's a good bourbon for the price but all things being equal i would never choose it over bookers.
This is good but nowhere near Booker's. That an entertaining take though.
Be honest. What bookers have you had? Because that is an insane statement to make.
@@AppalachianChaplin it’s just a hot take lol. I love Jim Beam products, but you can’t beat a good budget toasted bourbon for 22-30 bucks. And the most recent was the Bookers 2024-03
I grabbed it recently, thought it was a great buy. Hopefully it's a yearly thing, wouldn't mine getting another bottle once this one is gone.
Wild Turkey Spiced. Wild Turkey’s version of a similar product that is made for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays!
Buchanan's pineapple 🍍 is mine love it neat from the freezer or mix with pineapple juice for an easy cocktail
I hope you review the Arctic Spirit... noticed it sitting back there.
okay now I will get it for a winter OF on the beach! Happy turkey day, y'all!

OK, I’m clueless. What is a black walnut old-fashioned? Love your channel you’re doing great. Here’s to the hundred thousand Mark cheers

? Really
It's ok, got it for $24.99, worth it, I like the 7 better as well
I’m wondering about this JB expression with Apple cider.🤔
I love wild turkey honey with lemonade. I need to pick up a bottle of the crown blackberry.
It punches outside its weight class for sure.

I really like Jimmy Red Bourbon from Charleston, SC. Made from an age old recipe with red corn..

Jameson Orange 🍊. Goes down easy mixed with ginger e
It makes a nice old fashion and Manhattan.
I picked it up it’s not bad. Was thinking of using it in egg nog.

Traveler Whiskey 😬 because I can take it anywhere and everyone can drink it neat. Crushable not good but crushable

I've seen that around, but did not pull the trigger. I wanted something with higher proof.
Decent taste. Little thin for me
