I would love to hear your origin story sometime. Where love and commerce comes along at the right time and tickles those olds late 70’s memories of of my Marantz 6110 and Tusk in my small room with speakers that took up the corners.
I have to admit, I can’t keep up with all these different pressings. Makes collecting a few old guitars pretty easy in comparison. It’s been a hell of a year and what a catalog you’ve put together.

my online retailer in the uk had the uhqr miles advertised for october then it got pushed to 31.12 , hoping they get it - and i can get one !

Mingus 5 is An Awesome album Thank You
Although Miles Davis Kind of Blue is the biggest selling Jazz album of all time and deservingly so, Dave Brubeck Quartet Time Out is and always will be the greatest Jazz album of all time. The way Dave Brubeck took all those time changes and structures and thrown together and made a coherent, wonderful Jazz album just absolutely astounds me every single time I play it which is quite often. I prefer to listen to the mono version while I prefer to listen to the stereo of Miles Davis Kind of Blue. Which incidentally both of those albums were recorded at Columbia studios in 1959 and we're both released in 1959 so there you go. 1959 was the year that true Jazz was born! Those two albums from the same year set the standard for so many more jazz artists of our modern time!

I recently ordered the 45rpm Dave Brubeck Time Out album and was dissapointed to hear distortion in piano parts in a few tracks, I now see this is a common issue with this release if you look at the discogs reviews. My question is if this issue can be somehow solved? is this a pressing flaw? master tape wear? or what? Thanks

Chad you are simply put killing it. I just got my two copies of John Coltrane Cressant and Village at the Vanguard and they are simply put outstanding. Chad I can think of one record that would sell out quicker than the Miles Davis and be a Top Seller for you if you could get the rights to it. If People found out that Acoustic Sounds was coming out with John Coltrane's Blue Train the hype and sells would be tremendous. Miles Davis has been done, but Blue Train has not. Blue Train in an Audiophile UHQR form reissue hasn't been done not even by Bluenote Records. Heck if Acoustic sounds came with Blue Train in regular form, it would be a hit.
In the recent discussion with Fremer and Esposito they were mentions of a reissue program involving those Prestige titles that have been done before by Acoustic Sounds. Hope that's true man. Those were great!
We will be repressing these Prestige as soon as we can.

I'd never listened to it before so started in on it via RUclips. I was surprised at how similar he sounds to Tom Waits on Dachau Blues. I had to look up the credits to make sure it wasn't him. Interesting - I think Avant-Garde Rock is the right term for it.
Will the AP Norah Jones "Come Away With Me" be repressed by QRP after the current batch is sold out? Or is the end of the current batch the end of licensing for that title? Thanks so much for the exceptional work you do at AP/QRP/AS. Cheers!
Have you read the reviews of that lp on acoustic sounds own website? Way too many negative reviews for me. You might want to read them. ☮️
Damn, it's a shame y'all didn't get to press Let It Be. Unfortunately we got stuck with Canadian GZ pressings here in the States. At least Europe got theirs pressed at Optimal, which I'm currently trying to hunt down.. That being said, if you have the Optimal pressings, I'll definitely buy a copy! 👍
The original made/pressed in the EU Red and Blue albums from 2014 are commanding huge premiums due to their quality, they are still in print but made in Canada, horrible reviews on these pressings! I wish chad was pressing these! The original beatles red/blue from the 70's were not cut from the masters and feature fake stereo, the original reissue pressings was the first time they were cut from the masters and in real stereo, AAA greatness ruined by bad pressing it's a real shame.
@@Jaffacall3251 yep, those 2014 Red & Blue albums are real winners.. They sound phenomenal. I'm sure glad I snagged those before they go up anymore. They were hovering around $50-60 last I looked just a few months ago, but who knows nowadays.
Any idea when music direct is going to get they’re copies of the KoB UhQR? Ordered it on may 7th and I’m still waiting.

I have the Nat King Cole Love is the Thing on reel to reel. It is incredible.
Agree with Chad on the "Time Out" Brubeck pressing. It is the best of all time and will never be beat, hands down. Single best sounding jazz record in my collection and even embarrasses the UQHR Miles Davis record in terms off quality and price.
So,… No one is going to mention the Led Zeppelin I sitting over his left shoulder in the background??? Is Chad trying to drop a subtle hint?

I'm really shocked that Art Blakey Big Beat sold more than some of the other BN Classics, like Midnight Blue, Maiden Voyage, Something Else...

@@blakedorman2996 Lush Life was recorded in '57, the master is mono.
Chad has said he doesn’t care if people buy multiple copies, only that they sell. With low repress #’s, flippers buying all they want, and no release schedule, we will now be forced to preorder any titles we are interested in individually, doubling the amount we spend on expensive shipping. The message is apparently that with demand so high, and supply so low, there is no need for customer service any longer.

I'm confused. The current top selling Analogue Productions record on the AS website is Coltrane - Lush Life... A record, that according to Discogs, doesn't exist, availability is "back-ordered' and it's not a 'new arrival' or pre-order... What's up with that?
Hi man. It sold out in less than a day.. couldn't get it as well..I wish I did.. seems like a cursed record to get, first the Small Batch version, then this one
We can't control what Discogs doesn't know about. This record came out in 2014, we probably pressed 2-3,000 and it sold out. We recently got the rights to repress the same title and we pressed out the remaining jackets we had left - approximately 800. It sold in a day. We are sorry you weren't able to get one. It is taking us 6-12 months to get jackets printed. This record will be repressed at some point, but probably not anytime soon. I wish I could get our jackets and press our records faster, but it's just not possible.

I’ve been holding out buying that current one in print with hopes something like UHQR or any audiophile type release would be forthcoming with the 50th anniversary in 2023
Please....the MFSL of that is plentiful and cheap, and WAY overplayed and overdone.
What needs to be pressed is, Meddle.
That had a small run from mofi and asking prices are a down-payment on a car.

I believe the 45s are either partially or entirely pressed. They’re in one of the marketing videos showing the KOB pressing. From that, we know they’ve at least started.

I missed out on all those Classic records versions, so if AP eventually does them, that's an instant purchase for me (and _many_ others I'm sure)!
@@R3TR0R4V3 i have the kind of blue and the importand led zed s made by classic records ... and i have the kind of blue uhqr .. and man the kind of blue uhqr is realy better than the classics .. no bad felings on the classic records still love them and how they sound and made ..
The Miles UHQR sounds amazing. Wish you would ditch the box. It adds nothing to the release and takes up a huge amount of space for no reason. That awesome glossy gatefold is all you needed here. I am sure website analytics and sales metrics show the box was a good decision from a business standpoint. But I wish there wasn't the need to "show" how premium the product is with a big box you feel obligated to hang onto.

We only recently reacquired the rights to repress this title and had 800 jackets on hand. This title will be going on the press again, but not anytime soon. Sorry if you were not able to get it. It's taking us 6-12 months to get more jackets printed.

Why did Norah Jones go up so much all the sudden?!!! It’s been pressed for months. Now it’s $50! Profiteering.
Literally everything went up, records aside.. That's inflation for ya. :/The records only went up $5 though, so that's not unreasonable.
@@R3TR0R4V3 this was 35 so maybe 40 like on some websites that ran out. Now Chad has just jacked it up another 10, cause he wants to. That’s not inflation it’s a money grab and he’s doing his cry now speech. I have the cd I’ve had since it’s release. Never really listen to it so no sweat for me. It’s the principal. We have the worst inflation in 40 years. I’ll take that $50 and give it to my local rescue mission. Chad, cry now cause the money’s already gone.
@@DC-xx4kv It is in the interests of record collectors that Chad raise the price to $50. If he keeps it low, someone else will buy the rest of the stock to flip. If you give Chad that extra money, he can reinvest and/or reap bigger profits. The point is that by paying Chad a little more, you'll get more records.
If you want audiophile records to be a sustainable business then you have to be willing to sustain them. Knowing what goes into making these records, at $50, who is robbing who?

At 7:02 Nat King Cole. Chad you fluctuate prices like a private seller on Discogs. There’s no justification to suddenly increase the price because the album is coming to end of its licensing run.

There is a reason. When we get down to our last copies, we can sometimes change the price. It's supply and demand. I encourage you and everybody to buy the records that you wanna buy when they first come out. We have been offering the Nat King Cole records since 2010. Also remember, nothing lasts forever.
