I love South Carolina ! ❤️ I love Columbia and it’s central location to both the mountain and beach access via interstate just a few hours away ! We have so many lakes and rivers that surround us it’s truly a paradise ! Sure heat and humidity can spoil a day but it’s for a short 2-3 months with spells of nice weather in between, it’s not bad ! We have taken this walk many times and really enjoy it ! The last time out we saw an alligator sunning in the canal, what a surprise !
Wow…I didn’t know gators live there! I’ll have a full trail review of the Columbia Canal Trail coming up sometime in the next month, so be on the lookout for that.
Yes! I saw your video on it. It's a nice trail. I plan to return to it soon and give it a "proper" trail review, since this video was early on, when I was just putting some footage to music.
At the time that I rode that trail - which was around May of 2020 as I recall - it appeared to me that the trail basically ended at that point. Maybe it's been expanded since then. I want to go back and do a full trail review video...
My personal favorites have been the Cayce Riverwalk near Columbia, SC, the Chattahoochee Riverwalk in Columbus, GA and the Tennessee Riverwalk in Chattanooga, TN. Hmmm...I see a pattern developing here - all riverwalks!
I was riding a bike (a Townie Men’s 7D Step-over) and the video was shot using an iPhone on a gimbal. I was steering the bike with one hand and holding the phone/gimbal in the other.
