10:38 The Scorpion's death is very good. I believe he is the most human person in the order. He doesn't agree with killing child.
Besides that, he has good faith in his goal, that the order will make better Egypt. I believe if the order succeed, he will make a better ruler than his fellows.
When he died, he doesn't panick and angry. So chilling
And last, he said sorry to Bayek, and asking for permission to go from this world

He is definitely the only moderate person in the Order
He definitely doesn't seem to instigate things
The problem is that he let things happen, and doesn't condone them
Plus, he stands by their side
It would have been perfect if he had more screen time though
Him having as much as Scarab would've been great

The Order of the Ancients and the Knights Templar that succeeded them were never really painted to be some kind of pure evil, the institutions themselves were founded under noble and benevolent ideals. It's just a shame that many of its members are precisely the kind of corrupt and self-serving individuals that such power should ideally be meant to control and restrain in the first place.
This guy is at least a moderate, which is the favorable sort, but he still allowed his colleagues to go too far without doing anything to stop them, so in my eyes he's still less respectable than Haytham Kenway and the Black Crosses. When the order functioned the way it was designed it _did_ devote time and effort to purging members who stray for the greater good, though ofc ultimately they will forever disagree with the assassins over what that exactly entails.

    • @hugoperez2993
      @hugoperez2993 Год назад +2

I disagree so strongly about your first paragraph. The only human target in my opinion is the Hyena, she had realistic reasons for doing the harm she did for the people she did it for, reasons that were not that different than Bayek's.
He might not outright agree with killing children, but that doesn't really mean anything, especially because the people he worked with literally killed children. He said that a good rule always leaves many wanting, this is tyrant talk, that sounds fascistic, and come on, the dude was a pre-cursor to the Templars. In my opinion he is sub-human, it makes it even worse that he's able to separate his work as a ruler from the consequences of it - he directly hurts the people under him and he got what he deserved in the end.

And even Flavius who kinda appeared out of nowhere the last time I played it, I liked because of his voice actor, really giving off how stubbornly without regrets he is and how he thinks that Bayek fucked up, he considers the death of Bayek’s son just another step in his rise to power.

Alas, the hard part was gaining access there, you would first have to face a weighing trial, where Anubis would extract your heart and place it on a scale alongside a feather from Ma'at, your heart's weight was determined from the deeds you committed during your life, the fouler your deeds, the heavier the heart, if your heart's weight was balanced with the feather's weight, you would pass the trial, if not, your heart would be fed to the Ammit, and you would cease to exist.
After passing the trial(hopefully), you'd have to gain final approval for entry to the field, from Osiris, by reciting a phrase to him.

They're both not meant to be just killing bad guys and parkouring around the city. It's much more nuanced about its characters, their motives and arcs. And the acting makes it so capturing. This game renewed my love for the series and Ifell in love it it, especially since I always loved mythology and civilization of Egypt so I might be little biassed, but to me it's one of fave AC games along with the first one and Ezio trilogy.

Loved the New Confession scene style! All unique, and tailored to the character portrayed.
*POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT* If you haven't finished the game don't look at this!
I honestly think Medunamun was one of the best characters in the whole game, and he was the first target He had a strong early role in the plot through his scenes, and I liked that he was a fellow Egyptian, almost dark side to Bayek in a way.
I liked Eudoros' scene even though he had a smaller role, but he didn't go down without a fight and gave Bayek a challenge to his dying breath, great scene!
My favorite set of villains was mostly the second one, Scarab's deception was so good, the Hyena's exploration of impressively built First Civ sites was great and her motive and death haunted me deeply. I wanted them to be more directly involved with Bayek's tragedy tho, but anyway. I wanted to love Hetepi but I felt that all the hype during the pre-release time didn't add up to what he turned out to be in the game, lackluster involvement in the plot was wasted.
I thought that the Crocodile storyline was great but it would have been more edgy to have Bayek's old friend be the one to kill the little girl. Septimius should have been finished off by Bayek, seemed more plausible than Aya with two knives.
I thought Pothinus actually turned out to be a disappointment for me as he barely had a significant role in the plot yet was one of the last targets. The elephant scene was sick tho.
I actually relished the fight with Flavius, great setting in the Temple of Mars, with full-on first civ powers, very reminiscent of the amazing end battle of AC 1, difficult and so satisfying to finish him off.
All in all, most of them were done well, just think that the other targets like Rudjek and the random guys that Aya killed offscreen should have at least been in one sequence together i f necessary.
The Caesar sequence aside from the last battle with Septimius makes me want to have a game at least partially in Rome or at least a DLC.
Loved the masked costumes they wore to keep secret, wish they had shared more scenes together plotting in those, and especially dealing more with all the lovely first civ locations that this game was FULL of. Good job overall.

Flavius’ assassination is when everyone realized Bayek was willing to kill anyone that was said to be his enemy because it was not only his idea of healing his emotional wounds or saving Egypt. But he couldn’t let go of the fact that once he kills Flavius there would be no longer lust for revenge and he would mentally lose his son. It makes me believe that Bayek did indeed go crazy and throughout the game his mind has his son go around as if he’s actually there and he hears his voice. That’s why at the very end we never hear his voice again after he tells his father to jump.

There were a couple of members of the order I actually felt bad with killing. Pothinus, for example. He seemed to really want to build something that was actually good despite the methods he used lacking a lot, and that probably included keeping the Romans from setting their sights on Egypt right away (considering they liked to conquer everything within reach). More than anything, though, he regretted Khemu’s death, the role he played in it, and even apologized to Bayek.
