Lantern Floating in Hawaii - Memorial Day 2023

After 3 years Shinnyo Lantern Floating Hawaii Ceremony returned to Ala Moana Beach.
The Lantern Floating ceremony, held every Memorial Day, honors loved ones who have been lost. Some 6,000 lanterns ― each bearing personal messages ― illuminated the waters off Ala Moana Beach Park. The event starts at 6.30 and it goes for 1 hour.
You can float your own lantern which is provided by the organizers , you just need to register online.
All lanterns are recyclable and retrieved from the water at the end of the event. You are not allowed to float a home made lantern.
Park gets very busy, so if you come by a car you should arrive early as parking spaces are limited.
