Jamie, it is so nice your coming out with another video. We need you more on RUclips, you are too great!
Thanks so much, make sure to share the video with your friends so we can get more feedback.
OMG love Israel. The FOOD. The street vendors. The salads. The outdoor cafes. The schwarma stands. Warm evenings in a garden, dinners over hours with friends. One of my best memories in life.
Yay
you love colonialism how cute
We all know Kanafeh was her favorite. I understand cultural pride and bias, but seriously, let's be frank. Kanafeh is on another level. 💯❤️
LOL, it really just depends on where you get the kanafeh
My vote is definitely with the Ashkenazi Rugelach.
Yummy
When we last visited in Sept. 2019 a friend said "you must go to Marzipan and get the Rugelach." Indeed: It's the best Rugelach in the world!
Marzipan Chocolate Rugelach (Ashkenazi) all the way! Trust me, I've tried it!!!!
That Rugelach was atypical, and a "rubbery" Kanafe is atypical, too. Given my choice between the two when they're made in the usual way, I'll always choose Kanafe.
Totally hear you, it all depends on which versions you try
I love your videos, keep them coming!
Haven't tried either ... YET. Guess i'll just have to get back to my favorite city in the world!
Yup
Marzipan surprised me last week. I normally don’t like rugelach but devoured one of theirs in 5 seconds. They’re SO GOOD
Yup!
My vote is definitely the chocolate Rugalach.... 😋
😋
Knafeh is a palestinian desert from nablus
They both look yummy!
Was just there this morning wondering what that fried kanape was all about so thanks for explanation! And yeah! Cant beat those rugelech! So amazing!
Try the kanafeh next time though.
Thank you for putting out his fantastic video. Brought back so many "sweet" memories . (Plus I don't think I have ever seen marizipan so empty ) Hopefully I will be able to return soon and this time with a one way ticket ) As for as preference I have never had kanafeh which looks very appealing. Meanwhile I'm rugelach person all the way (particularly with a cup of coffee)
You are so welcome, so glad you enjoyed, hope you get to come back soon.
I’ve never seen such a shiny rugelach! This was a great one!
I know!
Love Jamie Baruch HaShem for her cooking
With the great Joel Harber!!! The best Machane Yehuda tour guide!
Totally!!!
You crack me up!! I love Rugelach but now I want to give the Kanafe a try. Thank you.
Please do!
Thank you Jamie for sharing the food from my Favorite place My PRECIOUS JERUSALEM 😍🇮🇱👍.PEACE FOR JERUSALEM 😍🇮🇱.
So glad you liked it
rugelach for sure!!!
It's a classic.
Ashkenazim need everything to be sweet and put sugar in everything! Of course you're going to pick the rugelach, Jamie, because you're Ashkenazi and you naturally go that way!
Try the meat Knafe just across from Hatch (great beer btw), now that's different. I think the Mazipan rugelach are a bit too doughy and find other bakeries better, but people seem to love the doughy sugary stuff - to each their own
Thank you. Hallelujah.

Jamie - More of the Jewish population than any other group are gluten free - can you do a special for different diets? I’m totally drooling!
Such a good idea, will try
I've never seen rugelach with that ratio of chocolate; I have had rugelach at 6 different NYC bakeries and nothing comes close to that look. It would be the same choice for me.
to me Rugelach. is my favorite thought in the world of pastries 🍰I like so many of them they are Ssssoooooo
😋 delicious and yummy 😋
my vote is the knafeh, its the best one i ever taste in the shuk
coming in January God willing! we'll be trying both! No place like the Shuk, we would love more videos like this!
So great to hear will try
What a yummy coincidence... I had purchased both of these at my local Trader Joes this morning 😹 .. of course nothing beats the real thing in the Holy Land 🙏💙🇮🇱🕎
So fun!
I love rugelouch!
Merhaba. Afiyet. Olsun.
In quali pasticcerie li hai mangiati???
what's the Hechsher on the food you eat ?
Mehadrin is what I eat.
Rugelach from Marzipan wins hands down! It's hard to believe that anything that delicious is pareve. The owner, Yitzchak, is such a mench. Did you see Michael's z"l picture there? They were good friends.
I know, so good. Didn't see the picture.
Haha my name is Machane. Lets go to Jerusalem!
Haha, yes!
Can you do more videos like these
I would love to, make sure to share the video so we can get lots of views
You need to do more videos. Please!!!!!
Yes, so glad you like it. Share the video, if we get lots of views I will do more.
When you make knafe use ricotta. It’s devine.
Sounds great
I'll take Palestinian Kanafe any day.
I'd pick the knafeh.
Great choice
but Ashkenazi is a descendant from Japheth which is a Gentile by blood line. That's even in the Torah Genesis. Not being mean just curious of why Ashkenazis claim Israeli line when it's not Bible correct.
She didn't even need to leave her home to do that into! Hooray for green screens baybeeeee!
❤️
MIddle East flavors are much better than in America! Fresher ingredients and some of that attitude.
LOL totally!
@@jamiegeller I'm a chiropractor and nutritionist in RBS. I practice Functional Medicine. I also like to cook. Chag Sameach!
Israel actually made me a diabetic. I couldn't stop eating pastries while in yeshivah. it was bad!! lol
LOL, I can relate

How dare you indulge in knafe, taboule, baba ghanoug, ARABIC dishes you culture-less people!!! Don’t you know this is the food which raised our brave freedoms fighters in South Lebanon and Gaza?
those dishes were eaten by people BEFORE the Arab conquest and how dare you rewrite the bible and call it Quran and how dare you speak in a language taken from the Hebrew and how dare you to claim our prophets?
@@adamodeo9320 you are a defender of colonialism you evil monster you will pay for your deeds
Naah, roll it back :), kunafah is king.
Where is the recipe?sexy?
The rugelath looks so yummy😍🇮🇱.
So good!
I like yahudi
I think you mean Palestine, colonizer
This won't go over well with a lot of people: But I am frankly sick of the mizrachi food in Israel, It is not really Israeli, it is simply arab food that the mizraachi people make a big fuss about. I have to admit that I prefer spicy real fish to gefilte, but other than that...kanadelach, kreplach, chicken soup, etc are much more appetizing than all the Arab dishes that we have in Israel. Shwarma may be nice the first 15 times but give me a good pastrami on rye anytime.
