apparently Markhors are called snake eaters. According to mythology, Marhor's horns were straight until one ate a snake, and the snake made its horn's twisted.
If you ever get to visit the Columbus Zoo, they have a great exhibit on the lengths it took to properly design the Markhor habitat. (I couldn't find it online). Since the markhor is quite the parkour professional (pun completely intended), the rock walls that surround the exhibit were insufficient to contain the animal when they were first introducing it into the new exhibit. After some iterations, they finally were able to design a type of fencing along the rocks to discourage the markhor from escaping. The video footage during the design process is super memorable as it shows the Markhor easily reaching the top of the barrier walls prior to the final design.
Only 6 seconds in, and it is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen! As someone who practically grew up at the Stone Zoo, I’m definitely most excited for this animal
real question can someone that wants this animal explain to me why? its almost the same as the ibex a little more fur and different horns but thats it even the biome and enclosure its the same, its not a very know speicies or popular either so i really dont get the hype im happy for people that want it i just want to know why

The markhor was also featured in Zoo Tycoon 2, an alpine biome animal labelled as Endangered.
