    When training for explosive pull ups what is the best strategy? My pull up volume is pretty decent and can do 4 sets of 10. Now I want to increase my explosiveness for unlocking the muscle up. Should I be practicing explosive pull ups for low reps mainly? Or should I start weighted pull ups? I tried weighted pull ups and tried adding 7,5 kg but I always feel like I plateau with weighted pull ups at some point.

      negative muscle ups, and pullovers help a lot.

    • @TheOriginalMIB
      @TheOriginalMIB Год назад +10

      First use an overhand grip, you will have more strength to pull higher and also lowers the angle of rotation between hand/wrist and the bar.
      Second, help yourself with your legs a little bit, when you pull do like an Lsit, that will give you an extra momentum.
      Third, when you pull and reach the highest level, try to bend de bar (in the direction in which your elbows are tucked in) so that will activate you triceps and by the time you try to lean over the bar the pushing motion will be activated.
      To add a final thing. If you are training the high pull up, always pull so that your body touches the bar. What i mean is not only pull UP but also FORWARD so that chest/stomach/waist touches the bar similar to an australian pull up. That will help the muscle memory to go forward by the time you need to transition.
      Hope this will help you 💪

    The Video is helpful but I miss the amount of Sets and Reps. How many pulling reps are necessary per training session? How many minutes should I Rest between sets from your experience? How many days of rest between training days? Should I focus solely on pulling strength and skip all other exercises or incorporate this into a plan? Would you do a push and pull day or full body workout every session with pulling focus?
    Thank you for your answers.

    • @smartnothard2400
      @smartnothard2400 Год назад +14

      6-12 reps builds strength.
      3-5 sets depending on your level.
      Rest until ready. 1-5 minutes.
      1-7 days off depending on your level.
      Incorporate into plan unless it’s your only goal. Try to split pulls and pushes equally unless you have a specific goal in mind.
      Set goals.
      Once reached progress to next level.
      Keep us updated with your progress!

    Ok, lets be clear as with all these videos which claim 30 days, its absolute garbage. The high pullup requires months and months of dedicated training, its incredibly hard to do without swinging and you will be VERY VERY lucky if you can do it even in 6 months. Anyone telling you otherwise is conning you, thats a simple fact, all these 30 day videos are a total crock and you will simply become demotivated by believing them. Calisthenics takes years of dedicated training, fact and if you arent ready and willing to do that, dont start. For goodness sake dont start with these videos by unscrupulous people who literally only want your views and dont care one jot about the outcome. The high pullup is possible but it will take a minimum of 6 months to a year of training, as with most skills in Calisthenics there is no shortcut at all, you need to repeat and repeat and repeat until the muscle forms and the muscle you need cannot form in 30 days its biologically impossible. These viedeos annoy me, they literally destroy the confidence and belief of beginners by selling them a garbage idea of ease when in fact the journey they are on is a journey of years. not days or weeks.
