All kinds of options: 1) Make dog hold bumper while watching marks go off. 2) Have a high sit standard, then step to the side while marks are going off so dog has to think about marks and sitting still even though you are moving. Essentially you are complicating sit for the dog because you as the handler are walking off. This makes his brain think about two things, the marks and sitting, which often distracts him from the whining. 3) Teach the quiet command and correct him for any vocalizations. Corrections can range from gripping the muzzle, to nicking on sit, to a heel stick correction, to pulling off line and not allowing to get the birds. This problem is hard to solve and it is why we always try to discourage any form of vocalizing from puppyhood. Good luck and Happy Training!
DO NOT BUY INTO THAT BREEDING , ALOT OF THAT BREEDING ARE VOCAL , SO I HAVE CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT I WOULD NOT BUY THAT BREEDING IT IS FOR SURE THE BREEDING NOT MAN MADE !!!!!!
We hold off during the cold days of January and February. However, in North Texas, we do get some pretty cold days in Dec and Jan. We prefer in the colder months to only do swim-by on sunny days with low wind and over night temps above 35°.
Great video Wade!
Thanks!
I have an overly enthusiastic dog as well. He is also vocal. What do you do to work on making a dog silent?
