Count me in for people this video worked for immediately after several futile attempts. Kicking myself for not thinking to hit the arm and spine with thundaga at the same time.

Excellent. I was following another channel's guide step by step, even slowing playback speed to 0.5x to see what actions he was using at a particular moment. I wasn't having a whole lot of success. Mind you, I only look for guidance when I'm on the verge of burnout. I prefer to exhaust multiple strategies that made sense in theory. Their strategy probably 95 times out of 100 most other players but RNG has never been on my side when it matters, so I blame that.
With yours it took me two attempts after one very small mistake the first try, and one big mistake on the second, not the same as yours. I used the synergy skill at the wors possible time, and it did like zero damage. But I was able to quickly build up the the focus atb synergy skill in time to make the rest of the battle like nothing. I also used the 8 slot armors so i could put magic focus on Bolt 3 on red, and ATB boost on barret just in case.
The turk battle prior to this was much easier in my opinion though.

Thank you for this video. Learned a new move that I had no idea that worked... stop with the stagger bar. That was something i never tried because games sometimes do not like OP stuff like that. And the thundaga double technique was spot on.

Only reason really, those atb are crucial for next phase. I’m going to try it with other bosses going forward.

I managed to beat it second attempt just before coming here, and this method is so much more efficient than flopping around like a fish like I did. 😭🤣
I had Stop and completely forgot about using it (my initial thought was to use it start of second phase, but that wouldn't have worked out too well thinking on it), and it didn't occur to me to simultaneously blast the arm and spine with Thundaga. While I don't think any other boss fights have similar situations, I'll still try to keep the rough idea in mind if I know they have multiple breakable parts.
I'm kicking myself for keeping my mp get so low that I can't even do a single thundaga 🤣
Yep! You’ve got to save it for the boss at the end of every chapter. Using Pray to heal and abilities to damage/stagger. But if you complete all the side content on easy then focus on story in hard you should be good.

How the fuck do you get the mp up materia or elemental materia or the stop materia? I’ve completed 100% up to this point and don’t have any of them.
