Weren't dumbed down. Their AI is fine as is without the limitation of how many squad members can shoot at a time (2 in base HL2). Simply VALVE didn't have the time to create proper noding (or something like that) for the AI to execute most of their actually smart behaviour, and alongside them being pretty weak in health and damage you can see why they seem stupid. Plus Gordon is stupidly fast and strong, so that's another minus for the soldiers
Absolutely amazing work with these animations! Time to reinstall EZ2... I have only one minor "complaint", the Gonome swallow animations I feel need comical amounts of blood spurting out from the chest as they stuff their prey in their gob :D
These types of fluid interactions really make me think of the work Arkane did for Episode 4 (with the whole Zombie limb pinning mechanic) Really amazing work, I really hope we get to see stuff like this show up in more mods, specifically stuff like Dark Interval or even Raising The Bar: Redux, potentially.

What if whenever we get Half-Life 3 (which I doubt we'll get) Gordon goes back to Black Mesa to attempt to fix the Half-Life universe and send the alien lifeforms back to Xen, but We could probably see Combine Soldiers patrolling Black Mesa, aswell as HECU Soldiers, Headcrab Zombies, Zombigaunts, Bullsquids, Antlions, etc. all still there even after about 20 years, roaming the place as The Combine and HECU attempt exterminating them while also fighting eachother
I like how half 2 makes combines look really dumb and fat during gameplay, just standing there shooting and then dying But lore wise they would probably be harder to deal with than the hecu marines, kicking and shoving targets just like this, tanking a lot of damage and being immune to any poison you throw at them while probably having a REALLY sharp aim with those otherworldly energy rifles
They are extremely armored and augmented to be extremely good in combat im pretty sure they would be even more skilled than the HECU, also the AR2 is a dark matter weapon it would penetrate anything

ya one thing that disappointed me with HL2 is u fight too much of the human characters, literally the whole game, while HL 1 they are introduced around midway through the story and are actually really challenging to fight against. Plus now that I am thinking about it it would be cool to have a former HECU marine soldier as an ally in HL2

Model is zombie assassin but it got no AI or animation and we don't really know what this NPC behaviour is like or what it does So let put gonome AI and animation in this model

based on the description, is entropy zero 2 with these little interaction between npc updates and further modding support, trying to be a sort of upgrade for source? I would love seeing a version of the source engine with these little upgrades that make it feel more alive
These all look incredible, except for the Gonome eating animations. They should be atleast slowed down and more detailed, because the way it just eats the citizen like it has a black hole stomach looks very cartoony, same with the baby bullsquid to a lesser extent.
And also, question not related to this video. Not sure if you know, but what effect do Temporal Headcrab use(not the teleporting effects, but one that follows headcrab)?

Combine lore wise are unironically ment to be elite heavily armored supersoldiers but were giga dumbed down for gameplay purposes

This is sick but I don't like the HL1 gib sound, the audio quality is so bad for that sound effect and it really sticks out now
