    official 5 n 1 uses (from painting days) - scraper/paint can opener/roller squeegee/window glazing remover/caulk tip cutter. but also, yeah, hammer, flat blade screwdriver, phillips on loose storm window/down spout screws, throwing knife into trees, pry bar, putty knife...greatest tool ever

      The job is always planned to the end, sometimes you have to adapt. I fully intended on going into the roof. I was pleasantly surprised. Sometimes you get a win!

    the 5 n1 original use are as a putty knife, a scraper, a gouger, a paint roller cleaner, and a paint can opener.

    At 71 a retired mechanic with crash repair expirience, a appreciate watching people do " the right thing" in their trade, looking at the inner city road map of scars on the back of my hands they mostly relate to the crash repair part of my life, 😅😅😅 do you buy the 10 cut off blades you really need or the " bitch mittens" you should be wearing to avoid the next trip to the first aid box, 😂😂😂 I guess most of us know that answers and we can assume everyone that commends has more self preservation and money😅

    That tool, left hand side of pillar and right hand of side pillar, makes 9 and 10. 10 in one hand tool.

    My Civic was also T-boned in the same fashion almost 30 years ago, after a six-week-long fix it was ok on the outside but the ride height was off(driver side lower by 5mm). Wished I had the money for a replacement back then. The estimated cost back then was $7500Cdn.

    I’ve used a pair of Klein lineman pliers as a hammer for years. Didn’t feel like climbing off the ladder to get an actual hammer! Got the job done!

    I would love to see a drilled spot weld, panels replaced and mig through welded crash test. I have seen so many comments critical of mig weld through.

      That is exactly what the people that designed the repair procedures do to decide what the repair procedures are. The same people critical of welding are also the ones that think you could straighten it. These are the “experts” I enjoy making fun of. You know, the ones that have never worked on a car in their lives and all their training comes from watching videos.

    The 5 in 1 tool is one of my favorite tools ever . I’m in the construction trade for work but get my hands into all kinds of things and that tool comes in handy for so many things . It could literally be called a 100 in 1 tool

    Last week I found out the "wiggle and pull" method needs some extra... pull when trying to get out a GM overhead console. For some reason they used like 6 metal clips to hold up a piece of plastic that has the domelight and a sunglass holder in it.

    I've often wondered if when body guys are hammering on body panels to provide stress relief ... is that stress relief to the panel, or just stress relief for the one doing the hammering ... maybe both? :o)

    I love your videos. I love that you are anal about your work. Would you mind putting a small video on the yellow stands. I see a lot of people making them out of wood. I prefer steel, being squashed like a bug is not on my to do list. Keep building.

    a great watch,i know you dont like safety gear but i was sectioning up an aftermarket slam last week on my workshop floor with my safety glasses on and a bit of swirl came up from the piece on the floor and hit me on the bridge of the nose,so near that i had visions of going to ae and them getting the big magnet out for my eye as the piece rusted in my cornea,just saying done the job too long

      He doesn't seem to do a ton of actual reshaping parts, pounding out dents etc, but is certainly very good at the removal/installation process

    @vehcor not sure if would matter anymore, but on those CR-Vs, the front bumper grill is two pieces, and you don't have to remove the tiny fragile trim that clips into the headlight. Great video, as always!

    Very interesting that the high strength steel B pillar comes in 2 sections (top and bottom). Is that a safety feature? Deflecting energy via a known crumple seam halfway up the B pillar?

    I guess I wasn't looking close enough. I would have thought all the work was around the B pillar I didn't see anything wrong around the A pillar / front of the front door. But you are there and the pro so .

      The a pillar was fine, the hinges were just bent from the door being pulled back.

    I'd be a little nervous standing too close to the chain while pulling the rear door opening. If the chain or striker breaks, it could be bad news.

      It didn’t have enough tension to go anywhere. It doesn’t take much to move those strikers.
