Love this channel and the quality of work that goes into Scott's builds! When he's finished the builds are as good as new. It's also a plus that Scott educates us along the way.....Talent at it's Best!!!!!
More importantly I think is that it's not just "how to fix a car" but more like "how to fix a car as a business". Seeing the ins and outs of parts cars, of processing through a number of same model accidents and using parts from a single parts car to do it all is pretty awesome. it's a true business education.
@@vehcor but a few of us that don’t know how it works are watching people like yourself to learn, you’re always going to get keyboard warriors no matter what you do and I like your style where you put it in the face (or keyboard)
One of the oldest myth is to cut a panel counting the spot welds!!! You did the right and perfect way how to replace a panel (structural or not). And it's the way we teach in Quebec. (30 years as a body repair teacher) Measurement, fit test and weld! I often show your video to my students to support my explanation. Thanks et keep up.
It is extremely rare to see such a meticulous craftsman who shows his knowledge in this way with a lot of humor, zero bullshit, in a way that is easy to understand. Keep up with what you're doing! Many thanks from 🇸🇪
Fascinating and a bit scary at the same time. Fascinating seeing just how it’s all done and how the cars are constructed today and scary to see the way more dubious repairers can get away with cutting corners and putting peoples safety at risk. When I needed my car repaired along the rear quarter the panel shop invited me to drop by unannounced at anytime to see how the repairs were progressing so I did. The quality was right up there with the car covered except for where they were working, everything was primed before the new parts went on and even the details were good such as no overspray anywhere and they matched the original nozzle to apply the sealer. I really couldn’t tell where the repairs had been done and I felt confident it had been done properly. Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺
You could say "Now I am going to show you the method I like to call "The Right Way" not the somebody has been here before way". As always your craftsman ways shine through on every build.
Great video as always. I've been doing body and paint work for 29 years now and I still learn great tips from your channel. Thank you for for all the work you put into this.
You And Those Mitten-less Hands its a wonder How desensitized your hands Become when you have been doing this as long as you have Scott You are by far the best at what you do with those robot assembled vehicles they make now there is never a correct gap anymore but a Vehcor Vehicle the Gaps are always spot on
I've been watching you for a couple of years and I'll tell you what I have learned a lot of things that I didn't know. Like "in the pile" for things that are torn out of the vehicle. but really you are a excellent restorer. I love the commentary that you provide, it helps explain your method of madness. Keep up the excellent work.
Tavarish released a video earlier this week saying he's developing a scoring system to see which RUclipsr does the best and most complete repairs on their builds. I made sure to leave a comment that none of the other RUclipsrs hold a candle to Scott's work. The vehcor channel deserves to have at least a million subscribers! Anyone who is mildly interested in knowing how auto repairs should be done needs to watch this channel.
The way you are able to buy rebuilders to fit your inventory of left over parts cars parts is so satisfying to my cheap thought process. Nothing waisted, and the continuing building of like platforms creates its own efficiency in its repetition.
As always your killing it.will be new again, your talent shines thru .you will be done in no time and on to the next,I’m sure you have one waiting in the side lines.keep on doing what your doing 👍👍👍😎😎😎
Hi Scott, I know that it’ll never happen well I’m in Ireland and you’re in the land of the free, is everything free in America but I digress, to be in the shop and see you strip things would be awesome I’ve always found that to watch an expert do something live is far better than any descriptive words or presentations, great post again Scott
Although I know I would never be able to do 10% of what you do, I do really enjoy your videos and the sense of humor you put in your narrative. Thanks for bringing so nice content. 👍
Scott, it sure is refreshing to see someone take pride in their work. With the few short cuts you do take does not affect the end goal and you get to save your customer some money in the end. The cheaper you can fix the issue without sacrificing the top work you do do is a win win for everyone involved. Great work as usual Scott. Have a great weekend.
Scott, you are a true Vehicle Craftsman! Your work is excellent! I have learned so much from watching you, in a way a car / truck is put together. I knew there were outer and inner panels, but didn't realize the reinforcements in the "B" pillars, etc... It makes sense from side impact protection, but I guess I didn't realize the complex Body in White as we used to call it. I would surely be happy to own what ever you have fixed. It's fantastic work!
I must say, I feel particularly inferior watching your methods, and how you do things. It’s pretty amazing watching your skill sets. You do things that most guys wouldn’t dare try, and they seem to come out perfect. It’s very informative watching this channel. Thanks for your projects.
You my friend are a cut above most Tech's and I thought I was critical, you'd be a tough act to follow, thanks for the video and the stellar techniques that you've shown us🤗😎🤗😎
Yes, another fine and detailed presentation. This may be a small thing but at 0.08:03 Scott's voice saying "pile", and the accompanying sound of a rather significant piece of metal hitting floor, is missing. Agreed, these are small details, but we expect to hear them when announced and if missing, find the presentation less than complete. (Review audio track @ 0:08:35 for an example) Thank you.
There sure is a lot of work involved in repairing the B pillar the correct way by replacing the high strength steel in one piece. But your new method saved you many hours of work and the expense of the extra painting. Attention to detail is one of the reasons your vehicles sell faster than you can rebuild them. Missed you last week. All the best from Queensland Australia.
I like the over lap and then cut through both panels.. Pretty slick idea. Although I personally would have just overlapped them like you said-- it's even stronger that way and the door still seals well either way. Something like that is just personal preference, and anyone who "insists' on it being either one is just kinda silly. Both ways work equally as well. I also like the way you overlapped the top lip/ from a water proofing perspective-- Although, you still have those seams on the left and right ends (on the top)--- which are the reason why I would have never done this repair and just went with the 're-shaped" B-pillar, after you got it all straightened out -- just before cutting everything back off............. But hey, welding is a thing and you did a really good job of backing the seems; so even though you cut up the roof (which I wouldnt' have done)-- I can see the appeal of having a brand new B-pillar, if I'm the sucker who is going to buy this car from you at market value afterwards.
Thanks for sharing those flat tip drill bits. I've used a few different spot weld bits but they seem to cut to much into the lower panel. So I hope these are better. I agree as for as the panels aren't always the exact same. Same goes for where they're spot welded They never seem to always match up perfectly.Just have to go by measurement, panel gaps and fitment.
Reellt good work Scott , you are doing great too fix body work . I gott a frend he did the same like you do, he was accurate like you.👌 Its nice too see. Best regards from Sweden

I’m kind of particular about my vehicles and if one of them gets smacked I’m kind of finished with it. But if Scott did the repair I could continue being happy with the vehicle
Really love this video. How would you do a full inner pillar replacement if you did not have that inside bolt to piece and this went under the inside rocker and was spot welded like you had at the top. Could you section out the lower in side rocker like you did at the top and still be safe. I'm doing that a on a 2017 Corolla that needs a the whole b pillar replaced inner and outer. The Toyota docs on tech stream don't seem clear on how you replace this. Can you help me.
