I know of a few music genres that are so rare. Maybe unnamed genre but I find the strangest smallest corners of the internet is the best part of being online!
Fun fact for western audiences: The character is a Jiangshi (The name of the song) which is also known as a Chinese Hopping Vampire.
Jiangshi actually means zombie (I think) bc I live in Taiwan which speaks traditional Chinese

@@everybodysfavoritenobody A jiangshi, otherwise known as the chinese hopping vampire, is a zombie - a corpse brought back to life. The specifics of the jiangshi is that it kills living beings by absorbing their energy (or qi) by hopping towards them with outstretched arms at night. During the day it sleeps in a coffin (or cave in certain myths).
I think the song meaning should be interpreted by every individual, but since you asked for my opinion, i think it's about unrequited and obsessive love.
Here are my thoughts (And i'm connecting them to every part of the translation)

The first part is about how the love wasn't returned, so it killed the singer and turned them into a zombie (which might just be a metaphor for how they went crazy with love.)
The zombie was obsessively in love, saying "Wasn't i the only one?" like "Was i not your only love?" even though the other person just had a kitten with them, and then got rejected.
And even further proof of the obsessive love when the zombie says "I'll love you even if you abandon me."
Then, because the zombie was rejected, they seek out the person they love and kill them.
I especially like how dark the next part is as the zombie says "The difference between love and hate is forever unknown. You rejected me, but you will be mine when you die."
And then in the last part they confirm they are crazy with love as they kill the person to be together.

Randomly showed up on my feed today. Don't know how long you've been producing for but holy shit, an incredibly catchy track on your first outing, very clean song structure, and incredibly well mixed. Definitely shows some hard work and appreciation for the genre, honestly this will likely become a sleeper hit, and I hope to see some covers of this track in the near future, definitely will help with exposure.
(No seriously, I could likely gush for a while about the instrumentation, it's incredibly hard to mix varied instruments especially on a track like this and there's a surprising amount of acoustic ones in use. Harpsichord (possibly a Lute?), Violin, Electric Organ, an Electric Guitar, various FX, and at every point in the song each instrument is properly separated, there's no muddying at all (which is incredibly hard during build up and breakdown segments). I spent years in Music Production and stuff like this takes so much time to learn, which is why I'm mildly suspicious. Either a college degree or a lot of hardcore studying on YT, lmao.)
