Lyrics
You say return from where you came from
What if there’s nothing left there for me now?
Looking for someone to assign
Blame me for anything
Somethings wrong, look for symmetry
So fucked up, calling back to me
Now how could I keep my promise to return?
100 years just isn’t enough time
Oh how I wanted to tell you
Oh how I wanted to be there
When you say
Somethings wrong, look for symmetry
So far gone, calling back to me
Mind and matter, self and other
Brushed

Epitaph Records is an artist-first indie label founded in Los Angeles by Bad Religion guitarist, Brett Gurewitz. Early releases from a variety of punk heavyweights helped launch the 90s punk explosion. Along the way, Epitaph has grown and evolved creatively while sticking to its mission of helping real artists make great recordings on their own terms.

One of the best songs I've heard all year..from one of the best bands of all time...💪💪
Just drove home through a massive thunderstorm in rural Kansas...and this song was playing on the radio (German radio) ...made my day. Best moment in weeks...brought me back to life and broke my monotony.
I’m in PA, but I’m from rural KS. I wonder if we were blaring this song at the same time and it’s time to make another Frequency sequel or something
Quicksand are always refreshing. ⛳
Maybe my favorite song of the year. LOVE this song.
A great progression from the sound of ‘Interiors’, can’t wait for the album 👏👏
Nothing better than when a great band makes a great comeback.
So glad a guy in the Record store recommended their first album to me back in the 90's. One of my favorites from that Decade.
It reminds me the first Filter album
Can’t get enough of that bass line in the intro 🔥
I haven't been a huge Quicksand follower in the past(although I like a bunch of their songs), but this track is going in a cool direction for the bands progession.
This may be my favorite Quicksand song so far.
That artwork is fabulous, it almost has like a really detailed 8-bit kind of vibe
My six year old son just heard the intro and said “This is a video game, right Dad?!” 😀
Love this new album and much maturity and great books ... This has that Perry Farrell Richard Patrick vocal vibe .. outstanding imo
Exactly how I described the vocals to a friend
Exactly how I was quantifying it in my head.
i like every thing of Walter Schreifels
Love the new directions they are going in. Wally might’ve done stuff similar in Rival Schools, but this isn’t the same. That rhythm track isn’t Rival Schools. It’s Walter’s voice and guitar over a bad ass drum and bass groove. These guys are the shit. Always have been
Haunting and captivating - and it's the kind of ear worm my head needs.
Loved quicksand for decades. Still do.
Voice and acustic guitar on top 🆗👌 . Absolutely fantastic track. 🙏
This song is insanely awesome.
Reminds me of VAST, so great you are back!
I definitely assumed that this was stoner metal based on the artwork but I’m pleasantly surprised that it ain’t.
You total bastard I came in expecting stone....Oh I get your name now
Hope you found a beautiful thing in quicksand
Welcome to Quicksand. You got almost 30 years of catching up to do, enjoy!
You didn't know Quicksand??? Thought everybody did. : )
It definitely has an ethereal feel that sounds great while getting stoned
Absolutely love this track. Best offering from this album. And it’s built around a loop
00’s vibes… love it!
Great, i love them since the 90s. This song brings a new vibe, looking forward for the album.
Loving the vibe to this song!
Beautiful track
Love it. Listened to Walter since GB. Good music can be smooth or tough, it doesn't always have to be same
That bass though 👌
Wooow. This is a vibe
Love that song! ❤️
Thank you 🙏🏻
Absolutely beautiful song! This track is amazing. thank you!
Great song! I'm glad to see you guys still have it.
Epic Track...Thank you.
Such a great track!
Love it
Great song.
Loving this new track....great for plane ride with a mask on
Wow!
Very good 👍
I needed this today
Going to see them live this weekend
This is quite outstanding! So nice to hear their new material.
Amazing!
This is simply one of the best songs ever written. I’m a big fan but holy shiiiit
LOVE THAT
It has a Sublime and a Janes Addiction vibe. Very refreshing :)
My friend, you have a neat skill 👍🏾
Yessss!
Refreshing to have new music pop up
Distant Populations is my go to music at work for a couple of weeks now.
This whole EP is a gem.
This is good stuff.
This sounds like U2 meets Remy Zero or People And Planes, sounds nothing like Quicksand but I love it.
Wow
Came across on Spotify, what an amazing tune!
At first, sounds a bit like Perry Farrel & Jane’s Addiction.
True. And a bit like VAST
not to mention Radiohead circa In Rainbows

Nice song 🎵
HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU DUDES WRITING THE BEST SHIT EVER THIS LATE IN THE GAME?! Like yall, I have worshiped at the altar of Walter for close to 30 years, and I cannot believe my fucking ears.
Sempre meravigliosi😍
Smooth
It's like Tom Yorke, Crispian Mills, and Perry Farrell in one voice biut even in the 90s I thought you sounded ike Perry.
Niice art
This could be a Radiohead song.
What’s up Broski 🦋✨
🔊🐀
i am pleasantly surprised
Gostei
Bien.
Nice owom I love you 💓💓
Cela me rappelle Filter, un kiff !!
O snap I didn't know Quicksand was into SPN
It sounds like Filter & Janes Addiction had a music baby.
Nailed it, and that's not a bad thing! I also hear a little bit of the Cure's Burn mixed in as well.
And it sounds ridiculous.
Ive been blasting Filter lately, and this sounds just like them
They are cool, so its cool

anyone know the key and chords to play this on acoustic?
Sorry ...Late ... Brilliant
Voici plus de 45 ans que je joue de la musique et j'ai beaucoup de mal avec l'anglais, donc j'aimerais si possible avoir la traduction en français de brushd.merci signer le daron.
Is this U2?
Sounds like it. Yeesh!
Nah
Ugh
He needs to collab with Radiohead 🥴
That sounds more like Rival Schools than Quicksand...
Tbf so did ‘Interiors’
Yeah, but it’s like Walter & Alan w/Serg.
I’m just saying… it ain’t a bad thing. I’d want my time back if this new platter sounded like the Gorilla Biscuits.
@@SneedyKetler I agree!
I am the son and the heir of a shyness that is criminally vulgar.

@@abhiendadevill9126 Faith without works is dead and works without faith are dead.
Someone really needs to sample the start of this song on a rap song
Radiohead .... wait... I've been corrected. Radiohead vocals... But... "Pillars comment"
Hahaha thank God someone said it, glad I didn't have to!
Makes me wanna listen to In Rainbows so hard
Exactly.

@@pipilota67 Well played ole boy, well fookin played. Title correction in your honor
Radiohead?
quicksand is one if my all time fave bands, but i have to get this off my chest.
the beauty of early quicksand was its unpredictability and dissonance. walter has become predictable vocally and it is difficult on my ears and my soul. walter was the master of phrasing, finding rhythm where you did not expect it to be and punctuating it perfectly with a hammer lyric. i dont care if he is as ballsy as back in the day, but we are talking about predictable groove pockets, phrasing and melody. the melody is the hardest part to stomach here. the 3 or 4 dissonant "go to" notes with descending ends to a phrase may be cute on a song or 2, but the majority of 2 straight albums???? 2 albums of borderline crappy vox from one of my all time fave vocalists. 2 quicksand albums leaving me thinking "i liked rival schools more"
Now I know why people say "don't be that guy." No one cares, dude. Walter is unfuckwithable.
@@christco120 you negated your own comment by caring enough to comment. funny how "dont be that guy" can go both ways
Just because I commented doesn't mean I give a shit about your opinion. Do you think there were people here waiting for your take? "You commented, so you care" is the weakest comeback ever, but I wasn't expecting much so I'm not surprised.
@@christco120 the people who read my "take" and did not comment, did not care about my "take." you need to quit hitting on me.
It’s not a terrible song. But hard not to mention that SOUTH were doing this type of stuff for MoWax 21yrs ago.
This sounds nothing like South
@@Cyborg-su6rd Mate, it's literally the same formula that South use to create a song.
suddenly hear some Oasis vibes
So?PaciFasists?
Predicted.
Love the band but this ain't for me.
It’s absolutely awful.
Love this band too but new songs don’t anything for me. Oh well.
No sir, I dont like it. Hippy Walter strikes again.
Lol
😂😂😂
...k. pretty goddamn lackluster.
Honestly, the mixing on new songs is odd and little bit plastic. This song, Brushed, has amazing acoustic guitar veil over all instruments and bass is coming through with regular guitar nicely, but them drums sounds awful and for some reason, almost lo-fi. It is odd, cause it is again, engineered by mr. Yip and Interiors has phenomenal engineering and mixing.
This is ummmmm…. not Quicksand. This is not good.
It IS Quicksand, but you’re right... it’s not good.
I’m sure your parents probably said similar things about you
I think it's pretty good, very different from their early work but love their come-back
I guess I'm still stuck in the 90s....because this sucks.
Go back
Go listen to Pantera then, dude. The fuck. Nobody cares.
@13points wheres yours?
Brooo
Quicksand started in 1990 and did most of their classic stuff in the 90's. So
A kind request to all of who has replied to this comment - stop it and respect one's taste of music.
is this even rock? what's up C leaguers....
Go away Dave. This isn’t a Seb Bach single
@@blahzay_ why would I even concern myself with a Bach single
So?PaciFasists?
