I mountain biked from Flagstaff to Tampa listening, mainly, to this album. Not only a great time but these songs ring true on many levels. Just gets the blood and fire in the head flowing right!
10 years was the last time someone commented on this underrated band. That is a fucking travesty. QUICKSAND- if you are out there...love you buds. You are glorious.
1994 senior high school here in Jakarta, buying their tape/cassette and first time hearing was blown away, my walkman never go withtout this record. what a masterpiece!
My favorite band. Way ahead of their time. Too bad they broke up. They had a reunion of sorts but it seems they aren't putting any sort of new stuff together for us.
lendogglc just saw them last night at irving plaza in ny!! And they only had a trio, well, cuz someone stole something. Lol. But they were unbelievable
Steel foundries must have made more money from letting rock bands shoot videos on their premises than sales of actual steel! Crumbs, I'm talking Helmet, Soundgarden, these guys. I bet Biohazard and Machine Head did videos in steel works too. I've not checked but I bet they did!
Damn. This still sounds amazing 30 years later. I still remember hearing this for the first time in my senior year of high school and being absolutely blown away by this album. In my opinion, this album is one of the best of the 90s, and that is saying something with all of the amazing music that was made in the 90s. The grunge train was just too strong to let Quicksand emerge from the deluge from Seattle.
Exactly. Quicksand got buried by the competition. ( Pun intended, I guess.) Consider the year that this album came out: 1993. In that year alone, you had: Vs from Pearl Jam, In Utero from Nirvana, Pablo Honey from Radiohead, Undertow from Tool, Siamese Dream from the Smashing Pumpkins, Everybody Else is Doing It from the Cranberries, and Last Splash from The Breeders... Not to mention albums from Primus, PJ Harvey, Collective Soul, Blur, Bjork, Counting Crows, and the Melvins. And this just the albums from ONE YEAR: 1993. Mind blowing.
When this album came out I was just getting kicked out of the Navy in San Diego. I decided to stay there and teach myself how to surf and i stayed for 12 years and got to surf all over the world. I listen to quicksand everyday for about a year I even had a sticker on my Honda. Thank you San Diego. \m/

man, when I was 15 I listened to this album so much. Had so many great songs on it. This song though, was the first one I heard and the one that got me into the band.
i saw these guys open up for helmet at 328 performance hall in nashville these guys blew away helmet and the crowd wanted an encore from these guys it was an awesome show
"emo" in the 90's DC area was not a pseudonym for "fucking gay"....Sunny Day Real Estate, Fugazi, Quicksand (debatable) Snapcase...nowadays, fucking gay
There are still some good post-hardcore bands around , too bad whenever people think of post-hardcore they think of the shit people put under that category now...
How? Both bands came out around the same time. They were contemporaries. But I agree they have a similar style without managing to sound like each other.
I have 3 of their CD's. Better investment than gold. I agree with the previous poster. What a time for tunes and sooo hard to find now. I have about 4 hrs worth of MTV 120 min. on VHS before the Michael Jax lawsuit era. Great vids that you cannot find. Somebody help with uploading? Computer savvy but not a media clown. Cheers!
so these guys are labeled post-hardcore, but the only thing wrong with that is that they don't suck....when did "post hardcore" become really gay and emo?
Quicksand was the best! Congrats to Serg on joining The Deftones. This is classic and well before its time.
I've been listening to Quicksand for 20+ years. Still gives me joy.
I mountain biked from Flagstaff to Tampa listening, mainly, to this album. Not only a great time but these songs ring true on many levels. Just gets the blood and fire in the head flowing right!

Bands don't groove like this anymore. Fuck, I miss those days.
Me too. The 90s were great.
10 years was the last time someone commented on this underrated band. That is a fucking travesty. QUICKSAND- if you are out there...love you buds. You are glorious.
Word, man. Some of us still jam to these guys on the regular. This album changed my life, in fact. Respect till death 🤘🤘🤘
The 30th Anniversary of Slip is coming up this November. They will be playing at Webster Hall.
Quicksand saved my life in 1993.
Same here..

💚
Tell your story. Don't be ashamed.
My favorite alltime Quicksand song...
Sergio rep'n that BURN merch! NYCHC for life
This song should have over 600,000,000 views. It's tragic that it doesn't.
Hard Boiled Gamer it really is so fucking good!
Same could be said with Estranged
Who the fuck cares how many views this has
@@dukesb21 agreed, it's not for them. it's ours. for crew.
They came around 10 years too early.
1994 senior high school here in Jakarta, buying their tape/cassette and first time hearing was blown away, my walkman never go withtout this record. what a masterpiece!
One of the top 10 albums of the 90s. So glad I saw them a couple times back then.

Bad ass song!! My favorite band of all time!!!
Dealing with pain in a constructive manner.

Almost 25 years later and still As fresh as a Fucking Daisy!

You have no idea how long I have missed them!
Man I miss these guys!!! Probably one of the baddest concerts, Quicksand/Deftones/Snapcase!!! Nearly brought the house down!!
Well.. good news. There's a new record coming out this year!!!
You have no idea how much of a flex this is to me who was born after both bands disbanded
Still blast'n this album!
Such a underapreciateded band. The best of pop ,rock and punk.
My favorite band. Way ahead of their time. Too bad they broke up. They had a reunion of sorts but it seems they aren't putting any sort of new stuff together for us.

Something, but we can't know what
To wait, to want, it's so bad, and

To find a way out from the cold
Place you're in
But it suits you, your condition
Symptoms that keep you in, keep you from motion
Until it's cold, slowing you down
Until you can't go
Taken by something
But you can't hold on to it, you can't
It slips through your fingers
Slips through your hand
Because they're too cold
Can't get a grip on what's in your sight
It's like getting old
It's like getting told to sit still
But it suits you, your condition
Symptoms that keep you in, keep you from motion

It's not me
Is there something going so wrong
Process of depriving yourself
Of peace of mind
Thanks
Great band
@malconium around 2005. Before then, you have the awesome stuff like Refused, Drive Like Jehu, nomeansno, and, of course, Fugazi.

love it
fucking priceless band.
i love it
SO FUCKING POWERFUL AND EXCITING.
I always thought quicksand had a similar style as Tool. But they managed to do that without either band sounding alike.
when I first listened to Omission reminded me of the Undertow sound. If not the music the atmosphere is similar
i thought quicksand sounded like muse (freezing process) or royal blood (dine alone simpleton)
At the time it was hip for those noise rock bands to shoot their videos in steel factories... see also Helmet's "Unsung"
"emo" in the 90's DC area was not a pseudonym for "fucking gay"....Sunny Day Real Estate, Fugazi, Quicksand (debatable) Snapcase...nowadays, fucking gay

That first LP should have made them bigger than Elvis !
Thanks to John Tiecrobe. But most of all; thanks to GOD.
Fuck I need to dig out my Slip CD.
Unsung Vs Freesin Process?
Freezing Process for sure, both great tho
I fucking love this song!
Intelligent rock. What happened?
I'm enjoying Rival Schools, to me, this is just all Walter evolving...
Why did they quit this timeless music?
:)
wait. what? there's some connect betwixt Deftones and Quicksand?
Tool just took this style and ran with it huh?...
Yes. Undertow is alternative vibe
so these guys are labeled post-hardcore, but the only thing wrong with that is that they don't suck....when did "post hardcore" become really gay and emo?
