A fine straightforward analysis of how allegiance to one man and his nonsensical ideas can lead to disaster for entre nations. Russia is finished and the irony is they have no idea in Russia, at least very few do, of what is coming for Russia. Nothing good.
The Kievan Rus', a medieval state that existed from the 9th to the 13th centuries, is often considered the birthplace of the broader Russian, Ukrainian, and Belarusian cultures. Kievan Rus' was a powerful federation of Slavic and Viking (Varangian) territories centered around the city of Kiev, and it is where the foundations of Eastern Slavic culture, Orthodox Christianity, and early statehood were laid. In 988, Vladimir the Great, the Grand Prince of Kiev, adopted Christianity from the Byzantine Empire, which shaped the future of the region's religious and cultural identity. However, after the Mongol invasion in the 13th century, Kievan Rus' fragmented, and power shifted north to cities like Moscow. It was from Muscovy (the Grand Duchy of Moscow) that the modern Russian state eventually emerged, leading to the formation of the Russian Empire in 1721. So Kiev should be the capital of Russia, with Zelensky being the president. 🤣
When Ivan the Terrible became Tsar he forced everyone to call themselves Russian (Including Muscovites), Peter the Great then banned the teaching of Ukrainian language. Catherine the Great even banned both the printing of books in Ukrainian and the importation of books printed in Ukrainian. The laws relaxed a lttle in 1906 but remained in place till 1917 when Russia was defeated by Germany and forced to sign the armistice of Brest Litrovesk which freed up Finland, Belarus, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Eastern Poland. The Coomunists and Stalin reconquered kost in the next 20 years.
The moment it was clear that Kiev wasn't going to crumble or the leadership flee and the West was unified against Russia they should have withdrawn like a couple of weeks in total because the sunk cost is now staggering for Russia so much has been lost they can't stop
Either that or Putin should have "lost" the last election for a Russian off ramp excuse. The West might have even forgave Russia if Putin had disappeared from the scene. He might have even got away with his head and retired to a dacha in the Russian countryside. But his ego is too big and plans to get Ukraine back were already hatched in 2005, according to a Russian defector that had been close to Putin`s inner circle. There are other insiders who think like him so not all of them are Yes Men.Russians like the long game of strategizing and like in chess, they are bull headed.
I think LazerPig was correct as well: Putin thought he could spark a color revolution in Ukraine which didn’t worked and is not “too proud” to retreat and now fights until he wins (haha…he won’t) or loses everything.
1:27 his mistakes was not understanding people told him what he wanted to hear, when your life depend on it, you say whatever please the tyrant, big mistake Putin
I’d like to imagine there was a general or a secretary or something that was like, “Hey Putin mate, maybe this isn’t such a good idea.” I then imagine Putin laughing, patting the person on the shoulder, and then nodding to some distant person. A shot rings out and the person who tried to warn Putin is dead. That is how I imagine Russia operates.
You failed to mention that on the 1st day of the war, Ukraine already had 7000 anti-tank weapons (jAVELINS) from the United States. If the West didn't believe that Putin would attack Ukraine, why had we provided Ukraine with all those Javelins?
Getting rid of Merkel was one of the most important happenings that has led to the current reality for Russia. She was absolutely a coward when it came to standing up to Putin and he knew it.
Good points, thank you. I may add that Putin is the most obsessed leader of any country since WW II, obsessed by an assumed great Russian empire from the past. As is well known from studies in decision making, personal obsessions and absence of counter play are a recipe for failure.
It's probably a big group of people behind this channel working on more than one video at the same time. A certain overlapping technique and it seems like the videos are made in a very short time.
Okay, but saying that Germany was such a beacon of help for ukraine is a bit of an overstatement, at the beginning they were very very sluggish with their moves and not too keen on helping. People just seem to have forgotten that little fact
America pulled out of Afghanistan because they were of the belief that Russia was about to invade Ukraine. This would greatly complicate their response so, the US brought home their troops.
Seeing only an actor leading the Ukraine certainly was a big mistake. Did Putin forget that it was an American actor President who helped bring down the wall? Tsk, tsk.

He's the equivalent of those mentalists who convinces desperate people they can talk to their deceased loved ones by using vague statements till the people start filling in the blanks for them. His thinking that the west were pushovers and weak were high, but the biggest had to be the Ukrainian feeling of identity which only happened after the 2014 annexation of Crimea.
I recently worked in a place with strong international representation, I got on with this guy who was from Chechia, we talked about this invasion, he said, and I always remember this "The west is ALWAYS PUSHING"...meaning that he saw NATO countries encircling Russia and thus confronting Putin. Putin has been a bad boy, when you take the following into account In Moldova: Transnistria (1), since 1992. In Georgia: Abkhazia (2) and South Ossetia (3), since 2008. In Ukraine: Crimea (4) and parts of Luhansk Oblast (5) and Donetsk Oblast (6) since 2014, and parts of Zaporozhye Oblast (7) and Kherson Oblast (8) since 2022. Is it any wonder then that other countries near Russian influence decided to protect themselves by joining NATO ? Russia is an absurdly big nation with much of it being treated as nothing but second class citizens to make money for Moscow and also now as cannon fodder, it sure isn't the Moscow elite and middle/upper class who are being rounded up and sent to their deaths with substandard gear. NATO is a defensive mechanism, it has never been used as offensive invasion force, but it is simple logic if Russia keeps spreading out it's tentacles well then naturally it will come up against borders that are not happy to see a return to what they had to endure before. Communism is a failed ideology, it has ruined/is ruining those few who still practice it now. These nations that have had their own rule are naturally far better off because now their GDP is their own, not carted off to parts unknown. What people wouldn't want that ? So in that respect, Putin is a fool, trying to bring back an ancient dinosaur that self destructed due basically to rampant inequality, centralizing power like that never works in favor of the local peoples interest's, that fact was shown by the many republics that broke away, and could do so because the USSR was in such a weakened state, Estonia being the first to do so. Putin's delusion coupled with the inherent corruption and straight out fear and paranoia led to him being given far from accurate appraisals of the state of the nation by his "yes men", the level of corruption is easily seen when you take a look at the physical trappings that Putin has "acquired" during his regime. The garish palatial estates, the super yachts and other forms of wealth that really just make a mockery out of his position. Speaking of the innate corruption , how can any military remain effective when corruption in the form of theft is rampant at all levels, with body armor panels sold for profit and replaced with wood, new semi auto assault rifles sold off and replaced with earlier cold war or even WW2 weapons in such poor condition they do not function. Soldiers having to buy their own gear and food. Commanders who beat and torture soldiers the word gets around all this and more has contributed to probably close to half a million soldiers taken out of circulation, especially the experienced ones. If Putin is ruthless enough to launch another conscription drive calling up mass amounts of soldiers, I dread to think what they will armed with, what training they will get, and what support. All this while Ukraine is getting more and more support in all the ways that matter. Whatever the result of the upcoming U.S. election, likely a Trump landslide victory if we take the opposite view of the mainstream media, it is clear that Europe's involvement and level of support will have to increase substantially.
I agree with your opinions except for one...that Trump will win in a landslide in the upcoming elections...I'm an Australian and my analysis of this situation is that whilst it may well be close...the Democrats will prevail and barring any outrageous skullduggery by GOP operatives...there will be a landslide number of traditionally red states falling to the Democrats. Already many notable Republican figures are openly supporting the Harris/Waltz ticket...they can see the writing on the wall...they know that their deeply conflicted and unpopular nominee may cause such a backlash that the GOP will be reduced to a rump in both houses. Indeed many would have preferred that he withdrew even to the extent that there have now been two attempt to assassinate him by their own supporters in their misguided belief that a dead nominee will be regarded as a martyr and help them retain support. Your election is being watched by the world with fascinating interest.
Putin was an irrelevant, medium level KGB functionary stationed in a backwater with few contacts. But he had a degree of ruthlessness and callousness unmatched even in Bond villains. Like all dictators, he has become increasingly surrounded with yes men, and his Achilles heel is his vanity. He loves the sound of his own voice, and his grandiose historical narratives have pushed him into a corner he cannot get out of. His many successes, such as in eliminating internal opposition, staying in power when forced by the constitution to relinquish the presidency, invading Georgia, Crimea and the Donbas in 2014, getting a foothold on resources by exploiting destabilised African regimes, in pushing Brexit and the election of Trump over the line, have inflated his sense of being “Russia’s historical man of destiny” into an overarching delusion. A hubris comparable to Hitler’s. Among his miscalculations are his corruption of the Conservative Party in the U.K. This was a great success, so great in fact that when the invasion of Ukraine proper was undertaken, the tories had no alternative but to go full nationalist (in any case boris was always going to be too in love with himself not to see himself as a modern day Churchill, although he ‘s got but a fraction of the charisma of Winston ) and back Ukrainian resistance to the hilt. The country would have otherwise been fully aware of the corruption and the tories unable to deny it’s why they didn’t do anything to stop Putin before. Now his only hope is to get trump re-elected, or for the USA to descend into anarchy and civil war after November 5. Which just might happen.
Good will always defeat evil even if it takes every good country to band together, as it is said United we stand divided we fall and that is not just a saying.

Not saying they aren't considered to be a strong force but i fail to see why people always talk about the US army like its so great when it loses at least half the time. Afghanistan and Vietnam are much weaker armies then Ukraine. Weird how so many people are quick to mark the Russian's as pathetic for losing in Ukraine when the US has just as many failed campaigns yet remains ranked at the top.
@@MrArrow54 That war against Canada was long before American superiority, Afghanistan and Vietnam weren't lost on the battlefield but in Washington, DC.

Russia chose empire over normal European relations
Keep up the good work military show
Now when Ukraine is in Kursk the Russian army is the second strongest army in Russia.
Now...everyone knows that russia is not a super power but a Super Propagandist 😮

Philip Ittner & Jessica Berlin interview
I think Kiev and Ukraine have a historic claim over Russia/Who came first Kiev or Moscow .
You failed to mention that on the 1st day of the war, Ukraine already had 7000 anti-tank weapons (jAVELINS) from the United States.
If the West didn't believe that Putin would attack Ukraine, why had we provided Ukraine with all those Javelins?
Cheap insurance (and the CIA didn't believe but knew).
The whole thing reminds me of the Oracle once saying "If you go to war you will destroy a great kingdom". The kingdom Putin destroyed is his own.
Getting rid of Merkel was one of the most important happenings that has led to the current reality for Russia. She was absolutely a coward when it came to standing up to Putin and he knew it.
Maan, Merkel was the worst. Had it not been for her, I think the world would have been a better place. How can a person mess up this bad?
Keep up the good work
Good points, thank you. I may add that Putin is the most obsessed leader of any country since WW II, obsessed by an assumed great Russian empire from the past. As is well known from

Tsk, tsk.
You should not destroy a country a country !!

Wow, Putin looks like a bloated corpse already 😂 awesome thumbnail!
Nostradamus predicted in the early 21st century "A super power will fall to the minority", he also predicated that " two towering giants will fall to the ground", 911.
Dude his predictions were so vague you could probably find dozens of examples that fit his musings. He's the equivalent of those mentalists who convinces desperate people they can talk to their deceased loved ones by using vague statements till the people start filling in the blanks for them. If he predicted specific events then i'd be impressed.
It’s insane to me how so many Americans believe that allowing Russia to commit a war of conquest is none of our business. We are a sovereign nation who believe in liberty and justice and that every country has the right to those same liberties and should be free any tyranny. I don’t feel sorry for Putin, I feel sorry for all the lives he has ruined, both Ukrainian and Russian.
The Biden administration did not decide to withdraw from Afghanistan. The deal was struck by Trump in the final months of his administration. Biden had to continue that agreement.
His biggest mistake may yet come as who knows what he will do. I wouldnt put anything past the man
Tbh there are good people in Russia and I hope they don’t get hurt. They are trapped in this senseless war by Putin also.
True but those good people stand back and watch as this kinda stuff happens in their country so its hard to feel too bad for them.

Obviously this is on Putin and his advisers. But there’s another big factor.
In 2014 he did a trial run of this in Crimea. And the west shrugged. The US had a ban on even selling them weapons until Trump rolled that back in 2018.

I hate politicians in shiny nylon jackets.
Putin followed the policies of Stalin in the 1930s. The outcome was predictable to some of us.
His thinking that the west were pushovers and weak were high, but the biggest had to be the Ukrainian feeling of identity which only happened after the 2014 annexation of Crimea.
Putin , as all bullies are stopped when we stand together
The KGB also made the mistake of undermining an American actor in the 1980s.
By the time you "get rid of" all of whom that will tell you no, you'll have no one left to tell you yes!
Ok missed the main part. It is nato vs russia not Ukraine vs russia. Atleast be clear.
I guess putin doesn't know the law of diminishing rewards... if you learn later your wrong and losing badly stop and change course.
I hope him failing is not gonna tilt him even more into insanity!
Thats the lesson of the story never trust anyone... Including himself 😅
