Every fibre of my being was screaming for you to equip that whispersilk to the slug because of the archon on the other side. Then I died inside when I saw my worst fears play out. Then it happened again not equipping the whispersilk to the Mindleech Mass.
@@mgarratt101 The Command Zone's B-Tier Commander games. Not quite as highly produced as Game Knights, still way more production effort than most Commander games on RUclips.
@@Dalenthas yeah nice, I'll have a look, I can't stand game knights though, I don't know why they feel the need for so much commentating. Play an island and talk about how it sets up their whole game for 2 min lol.
The clarification for that statement is: in that moment. We were bleeding life, and burning more with Vilis didnt seem like the answer, and with i think only the archon in play at that point there werent really enticing targets. But yes on the whole Vilis is a very powerful card.
Wait no decklist lol! Oh well! I really enjoyed this episode simply just because how you were so lucky on your Crypt rolls. Something I've noticed since you had ulamog on hand. You could've hard casted him exiled your own mana crypt and the mesmeric orb to prevent you from dying and milling out. Great game too!
Decklist is up now. tappedout.net/mtg-decks/satoru-umezawa-cr enjoy :) Yeah i felt good that we had by that point, but if opponents fogged or something then I would have started looking for answers.
@@CommanderReplay I've been working on this commander. I'm trying something a little different not something I've seen. Have satoru+trusted advisor+unblockable creature (ornathopter preferably) cast time warp. Go to combat phase and ninjutsu a archemancer or any creature that can get a spell from your graveyard. Recast the ornothopter and rinse n repeat for infinite turns. Of course this is a late game setup with 9 mana each time with no one to disrupt the combo. I know there are other creatures that can bounce creatures back, but I liked this little trick just because it would be fun to pull off lol!
great video! btw, i don't think Hinata counts against Silent Blade Oni and Mindleech Mass effects. Not only do their abilities not "target" anything, the abilities are abilities, not spells! and ninjitsu is also an ability (not a spell) and it also doesn't "target" anything, technically speaking! :) cheers
I agreed at first, but then realized that casting Crackle for zero at least got it out of his hand. Crackle with Hinata out becomes RRXX, which is significantly easier to dump lethal mana into. Hinata had 8 mana available on the following turn, so he could've cast Crackle as RR and X = 3 (total mana spent being 8), which would've done fifteen to each opponent and won him the game. So one of the few cases where you'd want to "whiff" a free cast.
Looked it up, it's Phenax + Eater of the Dead, an old creature out of The Dark. Eater can exile creatures from graveyards to untap itself, so it's technically not a guaranteed infinite, but as long as your opponents average 25% creatures in their decks it should take you home, assuming you don't get real unlucky.
So I'm planning on building this deck but to kill myself. I've been going to a tournament where you get more points killing people then winning outright. If I was to ninjutsu out an abyssal persecutor and then get everyone 10 poison counters I die and then they die.
@@CommanderReplay gotta test every rule in a tournament so if have everyone else at 10 poison counters. Then swing with the abyssal persecutor then ninjutsu in a phage the untouchable thus killing everyone at the same time
@@theoakgrovesquirrel3002 Technically, they would die to state-based actions with the Phage trigger still on the stack. Now if you also had 10 poison or 0 life and a platinum angel, and the Angel and the Persecutor left simultaneously, that would work. Or just kill everyone with Earthquake.
Not quite. Training Grounds applies to activated abilities of creatures you control-- requiring them to be on the battlefield. Ninjutsu is an activated ability on the creature cards in your hand. Training Grounds doesn't apply to Ninjutsu. 4-color Ninja with Zirda companion could be neat as a Ninjutsu cost reducer though, as Zirda affects all non-mana abilities you activate.
As soon as he starting talking about Agadeem's, I wondered how much that Hinata was going to screw him up.
ALOT. SO MUCH. I figured it out after the game.

Whispersilk wouldn't stop archon
“I don’t think Phenax has any combos.”
Eater of the Dead, anybody?
Yeah, I had it in the deck when this was recorded, but I removed that combo and the mind crank combo now to see how it fairs without them.
Ah yeah that makes sense. I just havent seen Phenax in ages, and I dont remember ever getting comboed out by one
By the way, just wanted to say: Love the live-action TMNT clip. That brought back some memories, lol.
Wake up, see that this and new Extra Turns episode dropped while I was sleeping. Easy decision to watch this first 🙂.
What's extra turns?

Wow that attack you mentioned the Hinata player missed really counted, need to be able to get in your damage when you can it looks like
Yeah if they had poked us in the air a couple times we probably go down.
have commented, have liked, am subscribed
Great game. I had a blast on this high power game
Yeah man thanks for making it interesting. At one point I was worried I wouldnt even cast the commander.
Love this decklist

do you have any decks that aren't full of equipment?

Lol yep, also close to dead. We used our resources well :)
Can we get a link to that ninjutsu video?

That and Also I dont think we had many great spells in the gy, its a 30+ creature deck.
what game is this?
Magic The Gathering Online.
it must suck to be seated across from you having to wait for your 5 minute turns.
Yeah i try to be mindful of that, and be quick on my other turns knowing there will be a long one at some point.
