Succulents Beheading UPDATE 12 Days Later - Echeveria Romeo, Taurus, Nicksana, and Sedeveria Rolly
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 8 сен 2024
- Impressive results in just 12 days. We are on the last month of summer here in Canberra, Australia where temperatures are at a steady above 20°C/68°F. Not a weeks gone by without rain and these succulents are coping better than I've expected. This video also contains updates on my other Echeveria blue birds that I've beheaded or as I prefer to call it "Head chopped" a few months ago. If you want to grow succulents and intimidated and overwhelmed by the process, this video hopefully might give you the encouragement you need. Also, as an added bonus; you'll get to see my very naughty Pedro the Budgie. Featured plants are Echeveria agavoides Romeo, Echeveria agavoides Taurus, Echeveria Blue Bird, Echeveria Nicksana variegata and Sedeveria Rolly.

Happy Valentine's day to you and your hubby! 🥰🌷

@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK thank you so much!👏😍😘
I luv your exuberant singing.. I do this too! ❤️
Hi Litz & hello Pedro👋...Watching your videos is my biggest relaxation 👍you have handsome Romeos and Taurus👌👌
Thank you so much 🤗
So successful on all those head chops
Hope they grow big and strong.
🎶 Hallelujah 🎶 Hallelujahs Ha Ha Ha I am singing with you😊😊😊very nice update Lizzy. Ughhhh you have bad chopper too? (Eating your Echeverias). It took me months to figure out whose eating mine. One morning I was up a little early and went at my back door just to glance my succulents. I seen something moving behind my Echeveria’s.....It’s a bird, it’s a red cardinal 🥲🥲🥲...this bird love to chop off my pretty and chubby rosettes. I thought it was a rat! I was ready to put some cheese out there for a bait😀
Our temperatures here in S. Texas is getting really cold like -12 C by Monday? Brrrrr....I hope my succulents all survive🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️
Good luck Mila with your babies and keep warm.
Oh Pedro is being naughty ;) again, lol. Yay! Romeo update...it's always exciting to see new signs of life. Thx Liz!
I'm glad you enjoyed it Adela. Thanks again for watching.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK You betcha!
Wow beautiful succulents I wait for your videos
Thank you so much 😊
Im also excited for ur babies to grow... Yehey 💚
You're beheading the succulent Romeo.
Succulents are overgrowing in your garden too.
I grow succulents on the veranda of my apartment, so I always envy your garden with plenty of sunlight.
Korea was today's biggest holiday,'Seolnal' (1.1 lunar calendar). Due to the coronavirus, the Korean government recommends that no more than 5 people gather, and most of the people did not meet according to the government's policy.
These days, the temperature in Korea is 2~3 degrees below zero at night and 7~8 degrees during the day, and spring is coming soon. Perhaps your garden will soon fall
I got to know the succulent plant Romeo through your video, and now it has become one of my beloved succulents. I'm growing a pot right now, but I have a problem with the root, so I'm pulling it out and drying it. Fortunately, Mommy's Romeo is big.
I like your videos always full of joy. Have a happy day
Thank you for watching and good luck with your Romeo. A lot of people say it's difficult to grow but I find them very easy to grow. Happy New Year!
Pedro is so cute

Amy......I was actually thinking of something along those lines.....Great mind...
Just have to settle myself. Maybe do it while cleaning succulents.....I think it would be fun...🥰
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK yes!! It would be great and funny😂law enforcement is a big part of my family & that was my 1st thought. Excited to see this down the road❤️Hope you & Pedro are doing well☀️🌸sending 🙏🏼🥰
Pedro is such a beautiful bird!! 😍would you consider doing a bird taming video on how you bonded with him?
Hi Ashley, "PEDRO the Bugie" has his own channel. Also check out my other channel called "Liz Kreate" for Pedro videos. He has his own playlist in this channel. The videos there might give you an idea of how I tamed him (unintentionally). Thanks.
What a day today mam lizk, love to watch your vlog hope to see you ❤♥️❤
Thank you 😊
Thank you for the tips on my Echeveria Morning Beauty I put it closer to my grow light and the leaves are starting to lift back up.
You are so welcome! I'm happy for you. That's wonderful.
Amazing garden, I like it. Blessing from Panama
Thanks you for watching.
Succulent is my life
“I will find it when I’m not looking for it” yes maam, always happened to me too hahahha
Don't know why that's always the case...LOL Thanks for watching.
😂 thats not lucky here in the USA! Love you liz!
Wowwww so many babies na po!!! 😍😍😍
Thank you po.
Nice house
Thank you.
I'm so happy for you Liz. It's very exciting when you see babies growing.
I'm very sad to find that my only Romeo Rubin rotted this morning, couldn't even save one single leaf. Now too scare to buy another one. That one was so expensive for me. It was one of my favourite succulents. 😥 now have only Romeo and Taurus left. I hope they won't die on me. I like to try to head chop them next spring.
I head chopped my Ebony and Amestro last winter and grown them inside. Now I have lots of babies from them. Good luck.
Sorry to be off topic but does anybody know a way to log back into an instagram account?
I somehow forgot the password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me!
@Briar Coleman instablaster =)
@Jaylen Yousef i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
@Jaylen Yousef it worked and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much, you really help me out :D
Hello Pedro!
Tweet, tweet...
새 잘 있네요.
Have a good day💞💘💌
Thank you.
Copper tape with a sticky back put around the legs of your shelves will repel slugs. Maybe it will work on 🐌 also. You can get the tape at a stained glass shop. Get it as wide as you can so it is less winding. Hope this hint helps.
Thanks for the tip Sharon. Still got plenty of copper tape. Thanks for watching.
9:51pm here ..omg I got your video so early this time :) thank you keep up with video posting!!
Morning gorgeous. Have a wonderful day!
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK do you know if I can shop the head of a moonstones because they are tall now
@@1more4mebeautician18 Yes you can but just make sure that it's not too hot since they go dormant when its hot.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK thank you ..we are cold weather right now...thank you so much for everything
Hi maam lizk. Im Avid fan of u
Thank you! 😃
Are indirect bright sunlight good for the Echeverias?
The arrangement of succulent is the most tricky in my opinion, Coz one has to consider the light requirements for each.
Liz your great for managing so many of your succulent babies and it's an art which only few can manage well 💯💐
Most of the succulents in my care I find tend to prefer being grown in direct sunlight; especially Echeveria.
Thank you for your advice Liz I really appreciate it. 🙏
Ok im going to see my succulents and get some cutting from them 🤩🤩🤩
Sounds good!
Hi Liz, I live in Sydney, a great fan of you. Do you allow your followers to come and see your collection? I am sort of succulent addict, but nothing like you. If you allow others to visit your garden, please let me know, so we can come one day convenient to you.
I'm available from October to end of January. Cheers
Yes hallelujah.for taurus and Romeo 😂😂
Hi Liz firstly I just love that Pedro. The cutest bird ever! I’m interested in the etiolation. Why wouldn’t you have put those bluebird heads back where they were before if they weren’t etiolated before?
So I could do this video and better demonstrate...LOL
Kidding aside, I love experimenting and I have a lot of beautiful sun grown Blue bird but none are etiolated. This is to demonstrate that even with bright light, they'll still etiolate. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for sharing! I got excited as you did showing the baby bumps, as I was watching this video. It gave me hope to revive my agavoides which is probably dying. Their bottom leaves are getting soft. I may also try your soaking method! Thanks so much!
Got a couple of overlooked plants and the leaves started falling off. I gave it a good soak and 24 hours later....They're happy and bouncy again.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK Thanks LizK!
I saw a Hoya plant on this video
You got quick eyes when it comes to Hoya. I got a few inside but they're still small.
Love love all the Hoyas
Love watching the progress after beheading! Can I ask - when will you water the newly potted young plants? I see you just nestle them in the granite chips so do they root better than straight into soil? Thank you x
Watering it without roots will guarantee a root rot. Since the soil is still moist, it will encourage the plant to grow roots and since having the granite in between, no contact between soil and plant which prevents root rot. I'll check on it after a week to see if there's roots and when the roots shows...I'll give it a good drink.
Hola Pedrito are you a good boy or bad boy?
I can't complain but he's only naughty when he wants my attention.
Your bird is so pretty!!!! Marunong ba mag tagalog si Pedro?
He only know, "Sige sige, engot and Helo Dai(Filipino accent)."
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK lol! He learned it from you!!! That’s funny!!
Hello! Good morning! Did you put holes in all of your pots?
Yes I did Nick. Thanks for watching.
It's autumn here, and I have a few echeverias to headchop, Can I do it or shall I wait next spring? Never headchopped before. TIA
If you have an area indoors where they can be kept warm, they will continue to grow roots(slow) even in Winter. But in my experience, they grow much quicker if beheaded in the last couple of weeks of winter to prepare them for Spring planting where the roots grows much faster.
Hi Liz❤ i have a simple question i haven't been seen asked before on channels. And my question is do you keep your still slightly wet soil in the container closed or open until dried completely. The reason this question is important to me is because I'm always afraid insects will lay their eggs in it when kept open and if kept closed then it might mold
I have it closed but find that the gnats are already in the soil that I buy, so I tend to mix a small amount at a time. I used to have them all in the open and now planning to go back having it open. When it dries up, that seem to also kill the gnats.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK ❤
😱😱🤩🤩🤩💖💖
Thank you for watching and commenting always. Have a great weekend!
😍🥰💋
Looks like your house is overrun by succulents? Are there any rooms without succulents?
It's not overrun yet. Still plenty of rooms without plants or succulents "yet". but when it does, I'll just get a bigger house...LOL
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK a big greenhouse should do it.
That's exactly what I sing when my beheaded babies grow baby bumps 😂😂
Thanks for watching.🙌
I accidentally knocked off a precious baby bump! it wouldn't give me another one, right? Some of my baby bumps are really white...does that mean they need more light??
Most of them start pale and as they mature, they'll get darker. The baby bump on my headchopped still continues to put out babies after the bigger ones are taken off.
How u protect them from snow
I just leave them out in the open. We get the odd snow every year but it's mainly frost in our area.
First 🙋🏻♂️😆 5 seconds ago😗
Yaaaaayyyyy....
So disappointing
What is?
