Thanks for watching everyone! Let me know how you’re going to tackle this winter in the comments below ⬇️
Hi Fergus, what about a weekly “Wintering WOD” ? 🧐
You could use your first 30 seconds of this to open a TV show and it would look 100% legit. Elite level RUclips skills 😁👍🏼🎥
Haha thanks Mark! Basically a highlights reel of misery from over the years…
As someone who lives in NW Wyoming I concur, "Be bold, start cold" is the only way.
Fergus you should collab with Ross Edgley. He also loves the getting wintered mindset.
Could well be on the cards at some point 👀
That would be very exciting!
still don't understand how fergus does not have more subscribers. its beyond me
🤷♂️ very kind mate thank you!
As someone that lives in the north, I appreciate this series! It's tough to train when there's snow outside.
The north remembers...
Get the mind tough🧠🛠..What cold? What heat? What hunger? What thirst? What tired? Repetition leads to perfection, preparation leads to victory👍💪
Exactly that my man!
Fergus is the Scottish nick bare. Killing it man, keep it up !
I love winter training the weather adds an extra element to work against. I also believe if we focus on our self discipline for long enough it to becomes a habit, then being undisciplined nudges your conscience to get back to action and stop procrastinating.
Exactly that!
Fergus absolutely killing it as usual 👏love the videos mate
Yup,top notch video as always..respect young man(loved the local scenery)👍🏼
Thank you for be an alive inspiration.
You are the reason for my new training and perspective' change about it .
Greetings from Mexico
Great episode. I fear the winter. Time to turn it on its head and use it as an opportunity! Thank you Fergus + team!
This series is exactly what I needed!!! You totally got me motivated to train more in the winter here in The Netherlands (not really winters here but shit weather for sure)
Awesome to hear Anna!
One of the best channels out there
Fergus - saw you in NYC the other day! Revisiting this as we approach another winter season, keep up the grind!
Looking forward to the rest of this series.
Best content out there in my humble opinion!
BRING ON WINTER!!
Thanks mate appreciate it!
Word Up. Grind On.
Great start to The Wintering Series. Looking forward to the rest
Thanks Struan!
Another great video. Staying motivated to train during the winter is tough. It’s so important to make it a habit in my opinion and videos like this definitely help so thank you.
Great to hear man!
It's been a rainy week here and you've convinced me to get out there and run. Thanks Fergus.
Awesome to hear! Hope it went well!
I love this. I love running in winter and I love everything you’ve said about resilience. This is what running is all about for me. First full marathon multi terrain next year then I’m onto the ultras. 😃😃😃
Awesome to hear Terrie thank you! Best of luck with your training!
Love it, proper content no BS! Brilliant thank you Fergus!
Thanks Kit! Appreciate it!
Couldn’t agree more. Those harsh winter sessions are something I often draw on when I’m in a hole during the summer months. Looking forward to the rest of the series 👍
Good man!
THAT INTRO tho 🔥😍
So pumped for winter training now!
Here we goooo!
Fergus, another excellent video and no doubt this series with provide inspiration to many!
Keep providing the quality content and the subs will build to a loyal following! Your integrity and Scottish grit, shines through, excellent work 👏 👌
Thanks Mike! Appreciate it!
Great vid, really enjoyed it. I think my motto over the Autumn/Winter is 'Get it done.'
Spot on!
Great video. I have marathon prep December-april so I'm definitely looking forward to gaining some valuable information on training
Awesome to hear man, best of luck!
Top video Fergus. The dig deep stuff is great. Modern life seeks comfort way too much, which is all around. We don't have to be hungry or cold day to day. But we still need the big challenge. Good work man.
Thanks for watching Tom!
Great watch just as I crack into winter training for a 104 mile trail ultra next June. Re-enorced a few things I follow anyway but a brilliantly timed series for me. Good work, keep it coming 👍💪
Awesome to hear Gareth, best of luck with your training!
Massive chuck up to whoever you managed to drag along with you to film that at that time. By my estimations you would have reached Greggs high street for opening, hope you got a cheeky sausage roll for your efforts!
Fantastic video as always mate!
Also brilliant camera work/editing.
Cheers mate!
As an American, I love the Scottish & English humor throughout your channel but just wanted to drop a comment for the algorithm. Good shit Fergus, keep it up man, you are truly an inspiration!
Thanks man!
Great video, Fergus, very much looking forward to following this series as the cold and wet has arrived here on the west coast of Canada. I'm looking to average at least 4-5 half marathon training sessions per month this winter, perhaps a marathon a month starting in January! Cheers from Canada, Scott
Thanks Scott! Best of luck!
Just did my 1st run, thx for motivation!
Hey Fergus! Just found your videos the other day and have watched about 10 so far lol. I'm in the U.S. (but have Scottish ancestry! lol) and have been TERRIBLY out of shape for YEARS. Strength has always come easier for me, but nutrition and cardio has not, and I think I have tricked myself into thinking improving cardio would kill my strength, but you are proving otherwise! With this in mind, I want to start training to be a hybrid athlete! Thoughts or specific video for an absolute beginner when it comes to running.. like no way I'm even doing a 1/2mile right now lol. Thanks!
Top! 🔝💯 I love early dark morning run 🤙
Good man!
Excellent Video, would love episode 2 based around the night before and morning habits? Just some of the things that help you.
This is planned in my man! Thanks for watching!
Great video mate really enjoyed it
Cheers Mark, appreciate it!
Great video! May winter commence
Here we gooo
Fergus definitely enjoyed it mate 👍 Have a personal goal of trying an endurance event in next few years. Actually love the cold weather myself too!
Good man!
Top quality as always
Thanks man!
Furthermore you choice of music was “on point”…brilliant inspiration for myself,52year old Edinburgh born .living in deepest Leicestershire/Northamptonshire border(wife in hospital(9years off n on)..brill mental fortitude..thanks ,brother Fergus😉
Great to hear Rory thanks for watching!
Yet another great video! Look forward to watching the rest in the series and the upcoming 'the wintering' series 2. How do you map out your route or do you just go out running? I presume you have a route mapped out but could be wrong
Loved the video, well done mate
Cheers mate!
Great idea for the series! Im watching it aeound 6:00 sitting in warm room but finały i’ll start to move again
Haha good man!
Dropping a comment for the algorithm. Engaging content as always Fergus.
Thanks Emma!
Great video!
Thanks man!
Be bold start cold all the way. I do a lot of hiking and if it's winter I still wear just shorts and shirt if I'm going uphill!
Gotta stay moving that way 🤷♂️
Hey mate love the content it’s a massive motivation for me, quick question, what is you hydration bladder kit, sorry if I’ve missed a previous video on this but yeah cheers👍🏻
First ultra in May plan 6.00am 30 min 1200pm 30min evening 30 min 5 days a week
Plus normal hit weights and kb training lets go.great content 💪 👌
Best of luck! Thanks for watching.
Comment for the algorithms. Winter is the only time when I really like running. I’m a natural sweater so summer is not a fun time for running.
Thanks Jason!
Good job 💪💪💪
👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
@@ferguscrawley95 I am glad that I found your profile 😁 I have trained professionally in powerlifting for 12 years and now I am preparing for the Lochness Run 80 miles. We have a lot in common. Good luck 💪💪💪
Liked. Subbed. Let’s get it
Good man, thank you!
Start Redders…End Threaders 🤙🏻 best time of the year to train and challenge yourself
Too right!
Great video, but TBH I don't understand 😂 it is so much easier to run in winter (~ -5 is my favorite temperature) than in 20 degrees summer heat :) Snow sometimes might be a problem - in cities it can get pretty slippery. But temperature wise? It is so much easier!
You have to get together with Ross Edgley
Your wintering and his art of resiliance would mix quiet smoothly
Will try and make it happen!
I watched this video and turned into David Goggins
Love it👍🏼 really inspiring, now booked an endurance event for when I have recovered from a leg break due to watching your videos! Any advise of completing a marathon distance on the arm cycle machine?
Awesome to hear man! Haha as a lower body specialist I wouldn’t have much advice other than vary your intensity demands and steadily build volume over time!
@@ferguscrawley95 Cheers for the advise!
You broke a leg from watching videos! That's mental :P
Brilliant video! What’s your opinions on polarised training?
Has its place - I prefer incorporating some tempo work however! Thanks for watching!
Hey Fergus! Love the channel and the content. What pack do you use when running? As a “hybrid” athlete myself I’m having trouble finding one that fits my build well.
Osprey Duro 6 my man, never let me down!
Just came across you. I really enjoy your videos! And fancy you a bit 😂
Haha thank you!
@@ferguscrawley95 I'm having surgery for an ankle fusion soon. Your videos are really making me determined to be as active as I used to be x
Great video Fergus. Done HYROX in Birmingham over the the weekend. Need to do more outside running. How do you find it with your asthma? Also what watch do you wear?
Thanks man! High intensity I can struggle over winter tbh - sometimes need to default to indoors when so! Garmin Fenix 5x
Just found your channel via Mattdoesfitness. Enjoying the content so far 👍 would love to see a mini series with you and Ross Edgley doing some adventures that would be brilliant. Some swim videos would be nice to see as well 😁
Great to hear man thank you!
Anymore tips on getting up and staying up apart from laying kit out..? Unless I have a flight or train to catch, really struggle to get up.
Properly analyse your reasons why, and make sure to focus on them rather than doing things for the sake of doing them. Set goals based on what you enjoy, then strategise from there!
The question arises when I go for an early morning run is where am I going to shit? Have you conquered this problem or did it get cut in the editing? Love your work though, it makes me wish I was younger.
Hahaha the age old issue, get up a little earlier + water + some movement + some black coffee = only solution I have found!
Just found you after your video with matt does fitness, recently started running and don't really have the best kit for winter running. Do you have any recommendations on base layers?
I use the Gymshark element ones! Done wonders for me!
What do you do to warm up before running long distances? Inparticular during the winter.
Start running! Any LISS (
I have no idea why but you remind me of Mike thurston RUclips bodybuilder
I'll take it!
@@ferguscrawley95 🙂 I think you both talk in a similar way. The way you communicate. Your both in great shape too 👍
what hat is that? and how can i get one lol
From Thrudark my man.
Isn’t this a Ross Edgley thing?
Ancient philosophy, but believe Ross has spoken about it too yes!
Just finished a run where I farted every step of the way. Big stinky ones.
Haha what were the chatty cyclists saying?
Probably talking about how to save .7 of a gram on their frames 😂 nah they were good guys spoke to them further down the road!
