  • We are spending the morning exploring London then we are off mudlarking for small treasures on the Thames foreshore.

Postman's Park is one of my favourite places in London. At times, it is a place of tranquility in amongst the hubbub of The City.
Keep up the good work with your enjoyable VLOGs.

We'll add some of those places when we go back to London. Most of them were unknown to us!

Another great video :) I have a question for you both- over dinner the Te Araroa trail came up in conversation. Have you both done the trail or any sections of it? I’d love to know!

Thanks, no not really. The Auckland City part of the Te Araroa trail comes right past our house and we walk that section a lot in training for our walks. We are planning to walk a small very beautiful part called a the Tongararo Alpine Crossing sometime soon. It's a day walk and we are including it in our training for our upcoming walks in Scotland .

@ awesome! When are you planning on going to Scotland? Certain times of year the midges can be really bad! I walked Ben Nevis in November, and my boyfriend has spent a lot of time in Scotland hiking, he can recommend you both some pubs 😊

@@emilykatie321 unfortunately it will be in June/July. We are preparing for the midges. We are walking the St. Cuthbert's Way and the West Highland Way with a break inbetween to see the Shetland Islands. Any good pubs in these areas would be appreciated. Thanks.

@@GeoRick ah well at least you are prepared! My boyfriend did the west highland way a couple of years ago. He did it over 5 days, but he wouldn’t reccomend you do it in that tight of a time frame! He said it’s all very doable, but some stretches are very long and one particular hill called the devils staircase may cause you a bit of bother. In terms of pubs a personal favourite of his called the Clachaig Inn in Glencoe is highly recommended from us both

@@emilykatie321 thanks, I will. try to check out that pub. We have booked an 10 day walk through Macs Adventure so hopefully we will be able to make it all the way.

your just picking stuff up on the surface wonder what treasure lay buried, Would be interesting to take a metal detector down there

In some parts of the foreshore we are allowed to dig down but not far only a few inches. We never do just use our eyes. We have seen people dig deeper, those with a special permit. They found medieval fishing weights that day. People do metal detect there. I imagine it takes a bit of skill as there are a lot of nails and bits of metal about.
