REUPLOADED!! Sorry there were some typos in the previous video T__T I've been sick and my amazing editor helped me edit it but I didn't double-check everything. I'd really appreciate it if you could give this one a thumbs-up and leave comments again
I was wondering about that because I watched it the day before and for a moment I thought I was in the Twilight zone haha. Liked the video though, and thank you for these videos! I hope you feel better soon.
Sorry to be so offtopic but does anybody know a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb forgot my password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Kian Nicolas Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im trying it out atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
I think kanji is one of the reasons I fell in love with Japanese. It's like an art by itself, with all this radicals, meanings, different pronunciation, combining all of this in a graphic word... Thank you so much, Misa-san for all this information. Since I discovered your channel, my Japanese started to make a lot of sense. (I'm still enjoying your Grammar Lessons for Absolut Beginners♥)
I always get a bit excited when Misa-sensei covers something I recognize or already know. I was like, "Ooh, ooh, I know that one! It's 'go' and it means 5!" It's like "yay, at least some of this stuff is sticking."
Thanks Misa先生!💫 I love that you love etymology too! Thanks for taking the time to re-upload this with the typo correction. Not a lot of ppl would do that! Hope you're hanging in there post all of your wisdom tooth trouble♡
I believe in the kanji for older sister, the "city" part refers to the fact that back then it was the older sisters task to go to the city's marketplace for stuff they didn't have in the villages.
Misa! I just commented on the other video but through that I started to watch all the videos of the series. I speak Japanese for 10 years now. Never was really that interested in kanji, because as you said I rarely have to actually write anything so I always forgot how to write the kanji... so I was very frustrated with kanji (I can read quite well though) but through your series I got so interested. The etymology is so helpful and interesting. I’m so glad I found your Chanel. When I have a job again I’ll definitely support in patrion! Thank you so much for your hard work!
This is so cool! I love how you talked about the speaking relayed kanji :) I'd noticed there were similarities between mouth, to speak and to say, but i had no clue there was all this history behind it. Thank you for this amazing series!!
Your videos are so great. I already know a lot of the kanji you're going over, but I never know anything about their etymology until you tell us. Also, linguistic terminology is super handy to have. Thank you a million! You're the best.
I love this your kanji lessons. I love how you explain the etymology, if it's a pictograph or not. I'm starting to be more interested in etymology now. I hope you continue making this kind of series. Thank you so much, Misa-san 😊
Kanji have "phonetic series" (Zhengzhang, 2003) from Old Chinese, in Japanese this "phonetic series" can be used for memorized easier On-yumi readings but in Japanese there are a lots of exceptions at "phonetic series", for exemple : 里 RI village 理 RI logic 狸 RI tanuki 鯉 RI carp koi 裏 RI revers, but 埋 MAI bury
@@abu-ayyubcedric-ali4041 However since I know more Chinese than Japanese I used the 里 with its Chinese meaning of the preposition "in" or "at", but in this case, both explanations are right and it can be explained in the Japanese way too because the meaning of "village" is actually related to the word "in", since it indicates a place.
I am loving this new series. I really like kanji and I am also a great fan of etymology. It is so amazing to know all the story behind the words. I have been studying japanese for almost 1 year now and I am very greatful that I came across your channel in the beginning of this journey, Misa-sensei. It helped me a lot and still does. ありがとうございます‼️
Thanks! This is very helpful. It's very interesting to see the meaning behind the kanjis and a way to remember them easier. Appreciate it!!! Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks for these kanji breakdown videos! I love how easy it is to understand your explanations, and I feel like it makes it easier for me to remember kanji this way...
These videos are amazing, thank you! Kanji are finally starting to make sense to me because of how thorough you are! I joined your Patreon because of these.
Thank you so much for this instruction! I love the inclusion of etymology and information about the different ways kanji are formed. It's so interesting and helps me remember better.
I've starting to realize this more and more about Kanji that I'm picking out the various parts of a Kanji. I found i was putting too much into it and your explanation of the later part of Kanji is helping me alot. Thank you for your hard work. Stay safe.
Thank you so much for the videos Misa! These etymology videos are really interesting and knowing some of the background to them helps to remember them.
These kanji videos are great! Thanks for the great as always, Misa sensei! I always share them with my friends who are learning japanese, hope they enjoy it as well
Misa I would like to personally thank you. For all your hard work and effort! You are so helpful and these kanji videos came at the right time! Thank you so much I appreciate you ! ❤️✨✨
Thank you Misa-Sensei ! I love this Kanji class ! Short and not overwhelming per episopde. I see you like etymology too :). I always remember Kanji from lessions like that. I just hope there are another 2000 episodes :)
Awesome video Misa! I really love that you make these videos for different leveled learners - you give a lots of info apart of the basic information about the main reading and also the meaning of the kanji. If you love doing this type of content, please continue with it. But if you think that it wouldn't have a lot of views and you care mainly about it, I'm also fine if you focus on anything else. But this is personally my favourite one, I love to dig deep into Japanese, it's such a beautiful language.
These lessons are wonderful and fascinating. I believe that learning Kanji makes people more intelligent. Maybe that is why I find it so hard. Hahahaha. Thanks Sensei.
Really helpful and interesting way to learn kanji! A lot of books just skeep the etymology, but i think it's kind of necessary to really understand kanji ! I follow you on patreon, thx for your hard work !
I always assumed the five + mouth meant something like "if several people are talking to each other, that's a language". Helps remember it anyway! Thanks for these vids Misa, the etymology stuff is the best and you can tell you enjoy it! (I don't know if anyone mentioned but the caption for "sign language" says "sing" instead, the "hand" part was confusing for a moment! Might be worth putting an annotation box thing over it or something)
Enjoying this series already, looking forward to more. I love your videos, they really help my study, and the details of the etymology really helps with memory retention. Oh and かわいいトップス
I always thought of the right part of older sister, as market. I learned from Remembering the Kanji. The older sister has the duty of going to the market!
The presentation of information in your video courses is very well done. ありがとう ございました。 I was wondering what that "sing language " was about, until you explained. A pleasure to learn from you. Stay well.
I couldn't help myself, so looked up 会意 (compound) on Jisho. I was mainly interested in 意 (feeling) from the last lesson on 心. These lessons are great!
There is something beautiful about the word for "language" being a kanji that literally tells you how to say it.
REUPLOADED!!

@Kian Nicolas It did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my account :D
@Lewis Oliver happy to help xD
I always imagined 言 like sound waves coming out from the mouth, so it is always related to speaking.
Oh, nice way to put it. Those kind of selfmade stories on Kanji are a great way to memorize them.
to me it always looked like a stack of books, so I knew that the kanji had to do with "language". Yours is way better though lol
I think kanji is one of the reasons I fell in love with Japanese. It's like an art by itself, with all this radicals, meanings, different pronunciation, combining all of this in a graphic word...

It's quite clever to put "reading" kanji as a part of kanji. さすが

Yes because 埋 is an ideographic compound, not a phonetic-semantic character. When you analyze, it just means "in the soil".because 土=soil and 里=inside.
@@deacudaniel1635 Yes for I remember this kanji, I think "to be buried 埋める in the soil 土 of my native village 里"
