You pretty much nailed it. I bought a 2011 Crown Vic ex-police vehicle last year and figured out right away that those tires are trash in wet weather. They had more than half tread life on them. They slipped away from me real easy and hydroplaned before I even got to 50 mph. Now I know why I have never seen a cop pursue or pull anyone over in the rain. Those tires are mainly speed and temperature rated for pursuit purposes. Even though you didn't perform a wet weather test in your video, I find your info valid and very much worth a thumbs up. Thanks for sharing.
I've had Pirelli's on my 08 Crown victoria police interceptor and actually went to the Firestone firehawk pursuit tires after. The Pirelli's were just too sticky for the car. The pursuit tires are good enough if you know how to drive, and yes they are a tad noisy on the road. I will also say I've had tired below the recommended speed ratings and I definitely notice a difference. With tires with a W rating I can take turns a lot faster and they're definitely more stable overall. It isn't fun just blowing the tires off without trying everytime it's a little wet out.
I've got HANKOOK WINTER IPIKE ON ALL OF MY CROWN VICTORIA POLICE INTERCEPTORS I LEAVE THEM ON YEAR AROUND MY 08 I PUT THEM ON IN 2014 STILL GOT THEM I'VE HAD THAT CAR UP TO 139 AND HAVE PULLED TRAILLERS WITH IT
I have the Firehawk PV 41 and have no complaints. The ride of the car is impressive considering the car weighs 4200lbs. I have 30K miles on these tires and there is still plenty of tread left on the tire. You shouldn't make comments on tires you've never owned.
Replaced my Rsa‘s with fire hawks. I vouch for poor wet performance. Want to keep stock as possible. Also got firehawk pvs winters ( v rated ) some from the US for close out pice at Tire Rack for 90 bucks Canadian. Go for 250 cdn minimum each on other sites. All oem as much as I can help it. No tint, no lowering, no deletes, no k and N air filter etc
Yeah, they are special. They're rated to hit a curb at over 40mph without being compromised. I've been able to take 90 degree turns at 30mph with my FPIU without slowing down. I leave Porches & BMWs in the dust on sharp 65mph ramps. My RS-A's performed fine in all kinds of weather here in the Northeast.
I use Toyo in summer, Uniroyal Tiger Paw in winter. Next year will probably switch to Cooper Zeon for summer, winter? Don't know yet..any ideas? Nova Scotian here 😉
I have Goodyear GW3s for the winter this year but haven't gotten to try them too much yet to do a proper review of them, but I've heard they're good. Bridgestone Blizzaks and X-Ice are likely the next best choice or General Tire Altimax Arctics.
My local pd switched out the FPIUs’ tires to the Coopers until 2018-2019 then went to Continentals. I’m guessing they were really not happy with their quality for the price. For now, on the new 21-22 FPIUs, they’re still using the Goodyear Eagle Enforcer all season. Have you heard anything about the new goodyears?
We use the Eagle Enforcer All Weathers on our Explorers at work. I'm very critical of tires, and picky. Surprisingly they're really good all around tires and work great in snow!
@@2KCamaroZ28SS I drove past a 2020 recently and they already switched from the Goodyears to some General's tires. I wonder how they choose what tires they want to install.
Pursuit tires? First time i ever heard of those. I had to change wheels on 2000 grand marquis. One of the alliminum wheel had crack, and air would leak out. 2 other tires had nails and slow leak. The rims lost the polish. I put stealys and new cheap tires from walmart. Theyre holding up been 2 years. But of course its a grocery getter car.
Yeah don't waste your money. I just put the cheapest walmart tires I could find, they are decent. If you actually want to drive in snow, I would get winter tires and some weight in the trunk.

Yeah the pursuit tires are terrible, especially RSAs. Point blank.

All season= no season.

Good video. Cop tires are over-rated. Look at Amazon for good deals.

Yes they are garbage
