- Very similar but not the same. A minimalist will choose one, and a collector will have both. A more masculine is Instant Crush, Amber Fever is more "basic" (similar to Cloud and Burberry).
I still love the Burberry Her, Hamidi and I would rather have the Instant Crush over the Al Haramain and Cloud. Don't get me wrong, I love Al Haramain, but Instant Crush on me is woodier and I like that.

Nice review. I am interested in testing Amber Fever (I've read some reviews, where reviewers state that AF is similar to IC in sweetness only, because it seems to go into a more middle eastern direction).

I used to hate anything with wood, vetiver, or oak moss because it seemed very masculine for me. But after decades of fruits and vanillas, I need that complexity and layers of woods. I’m so glad I found your channel because you like woods too!

Great comparison - thanks! I have the al haramain and Ariana Grande and had my eye on Amber Fever. I might pass on it now (but I’m just getting into Manceras…such decisions for fragrance lovers. 🧐😁)

Amber Fever is a mix of Instant Crush and Precious Oud, but it has less performance than either one of the two. Smells great though.
I've been wondering about Precious Aoud, based on notes it looks almost the same as Crazy For Aoud. You are right, unfortunately Fever doesn't have a Montale performance.
@@polly2018 if you take out the boozy note and the loud projection from Precious Oud, you get Crazy For Oud. The longevity is the same, just CFO stays little closer to the skin, which isn't a bad thing in certain occasions. In general i'm seeing a change in the direction Mancera is heading when making their releases the last year and a half. They are sacrificing the loud almost obnoxious projection for much better blended and refined final product. TBH I like that a lot and am looking to adding more bottles in the future to my almost 30ish bottles Mancera collection.
@@ivaylops I agree, there is a time and place for "beast mode", I like oud to be more polished and polite, fresh ones can have more oomph.
And a 30 bottle of Mancera collection that is still growing sounds like a dream!
I just got Midnight Gold, it as you described as a great blend of summer unisex leaning masculine, I absolutely love it, and the best part is that it doesn't remind me of other Manceras.
@@polly2018 I got Saharian Wind and Vetiver Sensuel a month ago and Aqua Wood just yesterday. First two were absolute love, still uncertain about Aqua Wood. I hope to get Midnight Gold soon, it's not yet available on the discounters market over here. The notes look like something i would enjoy a lot.
Tried Juicy Flowers but it's too similar to Jardin Exclusif in the drydown so I'll pass on it.
@@ivaylops I got Aqua Wood, I agree it is strange. I think the Indian ginger is too much a food spice, on a level that shouldn't be in a fragrance. I love Indian food, but the body oder it potentially can give is not a pleasant one, and this fragrance reminds me of it. I thought that on a man it would be less and blend better with the skin.

In my skin, Instant Crush is amberwood and zaffron to an extreme. Amber Fever, I like the idea but if the buzzy note is there. If not...
Amber Fever is zaffron with a bit of wood. Instant crush on me is AF with wood.

Polly, I'm about to blind buy Amber Fever based on Instant Crush. I really like IC but I find it kind of masculine at the end and I don't think I will cope with a full bottle. Is AF more caramel like as some say?
Yes!
I appreciate IC but I have the same issue with it, the Musk is very masculine.. too much for my taste.
Amber Fever is not, its softer and easy to use. I do think it will perform a bit less than the IC though, but it's a great one if you're into those fragrances.

I love Amber Fever. I tried ariana grande and it smelled like plastic on me.. nothing like Amber Fever. I can smell the caramel as it dries down its so good.
I agree, the Cloud is fine for a cheep alternative but AF is much better.

It fits both! Instant Crush for me is leaning very masculine due to the type of musk, but Amber Fever is right in the center.

None are feminine, but Instan Crush is more masculine due to the Musk and woods, its a more dirty and animalic one.
For a man both are great, for a woman amber Fever is better.
