@Lone Lee Since in the anime nobody reads card effects, I think he plays it face up on purpose so people look at the 2600 and dont attack, if he played it facedown and something rammed into it it would switch to attack position and proceed to get wrecked.

It's a real missed opportunity to have atem and yugi as the same person in the digital world. They are seperate minds, and it would be a hilarious situation to have atem try to fit in with everyone, due to barely being out of the puzzle while not dueling.
Cvit it's been a while since I saw the show but he does more than tea. There's the dungeon dice monster arc, then he is a support character throughout kibas tournament, then he and Tristan tag dule when they get trapped in that virtual world. I think he's more relevant than both tea and serenity
Very technically, it's not filler since that short arc somewhat happened in the manga. Except it happened very differently. In the manga, the guy had it in for Yugi. But not because he's a greedy fuck, but rather because his grandpa played a cursed game against yugi's grandpa and lost, leaving him disfigured. After their dice duel (which isn't nearly as bullshit in the manga), the clown grandpa kidnaps yugi wanting to challenge him to the same game, breaking his millenium puzzle and trying to build it himself. He gets mindfucked by the puzzle (like it happens most of the time in the manga, where opponnents of any kind of relevance are usually left mentally insane or dead), then Yugi builds it, while the shop is burning, and the chain is attached to a wall. Yes, that fucking Bandit Keith duel in the anime is complete filler, since they basically neutered any kind of actual drama from the dice arc, and had to put it somewhere. (Also Bandit Keith shoots himself with a literal finger gun in the manga because of millenium item fuckery after facing Pegasus for the match. Also Pegasus is 100% dead in the manga after the duel island arc.)
Yes and no. For a lot of people (like myself and cvit) something not happening in the source material makes it non cannon, while something that turns out to be over all superfluous makes it filler regardless if it takes place within the the source material or not.

Very technical, but Duke isn't a filler character... sorta. So in that regard it's totally filler. Probably, obviously, for filler purposes.
well probably because they didn't kill off bandit keith, he was a recognizable character, and most of dukes appearance in the manga was his father believing duke was entitled to the millennium puzzle also a grudge against yugis grandpa for a penalty game that aged him 50 years. dukes father never appears in the show and no penalty games were in the show because someone usually died (bandit keiths penalty game was russian roulette). although yami did mind crush kaiba and someone at duelist kingdom

It's amazing how much dumber Duke's story in the anime is vs. the manga. In the manga his goals had nothing to do with Pegasus. He was molded and groomed by his father for years so that he'd take revenge on Yugi's grandfather, whom defeated him in a cursed game that aged him decades at once when he lost. Duke beating Yugi and winning the Millennium Puzzle, thus becoming the "true" king of games, would be how they'd stab back at Yugi's grandpa. Trying to beat Yugi in DDD, a game he'd never played before, was still a little cheap but at least it wasn't outright hypocritical like it was in the anime with Duke trying to claim Yugi was a cheater.
Rewatching this several years later and...what do you mean that's the worst hand of cards you've ever seen!? You do know that half the cards in Rebecca's hand are banned, or rather, were banned until they literally changed the text of the cards to balance them out, right?
Legendary Heroes was at least interesting and honestly I’ll never give up an excuse to see Yami Yugi in a new outfit. He looks A D O R A B L E in that armor
I know this may sounds pedantic, but i believe in the Japanese version is explained that Duke didn't add the Dark Magician to Dungeon Dice Monsters, but Pegasus did as a part of a deal to publish the game, saying he will add some monsters.
TerribleTitan Yeah but then again Rebecca only served two main purposes. One was to show the power of valon during her tag with duke (She lost) and the second was to hack into the kaiba Corp system, saving kaiba and Yugi which let’s be honest, Mokuba could’ve done
Bold Bandit Do you really think Kaiba would have allowed Mokuba to do something like that? Sure, he was built up to be KaibaCorp's Vice President, but he's still too young for that, maybe younger than Rebecca.
"Each monster has its own power and demands its own respect." Wow, Yugi. That's a very poetic and mature thing to say. By the way, what did you say about the Exodia pieces when you drew them again?
I hate the anime so much. In the manga the Duke Dice arc is one of THE most consequential series of events in the *entire* series, it is absolutely crucial to everyone's character development and they turned it into THIS
Fun Fact about Rebecca: In the japanese original version, she is actually 12! Guess 4Kids thought she looks way too young thus make her younger... contradicts with her later appereances though xD
hey man i just discovered your channel, and enjoy the content, im getting back into yugioh, i played from 02 to 13, use to be big into going to regionals, states, and YCS; but going to get back into it casually with a Burn deck. Anyways subbed, and have an awesome day.
Didn't knew these were fillers, but it definitely felt like it. I felt irritated by that little duelist girl and that duel that is unbelievably the same as between Yugis grandpa and his friend. And then even started to skip that bs dice monsters game that was super boring and unnecessary. Just bunch of annoying stupid stuff in these episodes. While watching this video I was loudly agreeing to you "YES, THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT EXACTLY"
While these are boring filler stuff. They do each have something that comes up later. First we introduce Rebecca who returns in season four. Then it introduces the virtual world and big five for season three part one. And then introduces Duke who becomes a recurring character

Trying to beat Yugi in DDD, a game he'd never played before, was still a little cheap but at least it wasn't outright hypocritical like it was in the anime with Duke trying to claim Yugi was a cheater.
I think the funniest part of this video was that I automatically knew who you were talking about when you mentioned Faker and Daigo.
i remember getting the gba dungeon dice monsters when i was a kid and i have to admit, its pretty fun.
These are so good, please keep making more.
3:53 show came before the cards
Rewatching this several years later and...what do you mean that's the worst hand of cards you've ever seen!? You do know that half the cards in Rebecca's hand are banned, or rather, were banned until they literally changed the text of the cards to balance them out, right?
Duke Devlin just isn't the same without his theme music... bringing sexy back.
The DBZ Filler in the HTC is important as it kinda fills in Gohan's character as he was meant to become the hero.
I really loved the Dungeon Dice Monsters miniseries. They should've had more episodes with that concept.
3:57
Actually… the original manga came out first, then the cards, then the first anime, then this anime
so we just going to ignore how yugi grandpa was tall when he was younger and now he shorter than yugi somehow
I love your videos I didn't notice all the deck changes and card changes till now
wasn’t this episode technically a filler episode so you could finish the second episode?
1:49 I believe you got that wrong, there is actually another filler episode much later on that brings back ye boi ost rich, baby!
Legendary Heroes was at least interesting and honestly I’ll never give up an excuse to see Yami Yugi in a new outfit. He looks
A D O R A B L E in that armor
I know this may sounds pedantic, but i believe in the Japanese version is explained that Duke didn't add the Dark Magician to Dungeon Dice Monsters, but Pegasus did as a part of a deal to publish the game, saying he will add some monsters.
Whenever i watched a s1 yugioh episode i was waiting for him to pull exodia's pieces out of his ass
Your criticism videos are entertaining. Keep it up fam. Subscribed.
wait, but isn't the rebecca episodes technically not filler since they were brought up kinda later in the series when she actually came back?
MR SNUGGLETONS they still brought it up again in a season still wasn't in the manga tho
Mark Welch Point is, Seto is such a brother's keeper that he would have restricted Mokuba from the action. Heck, he only dueled once.
Rebecca, an eight year old is taller than Yugi. Me 28 years old being as tall as Yugi (1,53 m)... Well F**k
i watched a filler in naruto and found DAT A WHOLE SEASON IS JUST KAKASHI'S BACKSTORY cant forget about Obito
Why does no one mention that the symbols on the dice gets changed in the middle of the arc.
9:19 the kid in the green jacket is Detective Conan. (Someone will get it. Namely someone old. REAL old.)
9:31 why did they add a punch sound effect over him slamming his hands on the table?
"Each monster has its own power and demands its own respect." Wow, Yugi. That's a very poetic and mature thing to say. By the way, what did you say about the Exodia pieces when you drew them again?
I hate the anime so much. In the manga the Duke Dice arc is one of THE most consequential series of events in the *entire* series, it is absolutely crucial to everyone's character development and they turned it into THIS
8:04 Seto...I don't feel so good...
that whole Rebecca arc to me was when I turn off the TV since all she did was annoy the crap out of me like I feel like that is so pointless.
Fun Fact about Rebecca: In the japanese original version, she is actually 12! Guess 4Kids thought she looks way too young thus make her younger... contradicts with her later appereances though xD

*This Yu-Gi-Oh! advice brought to you by Kermit the Frog.*
1:50 I mean... Would you ever talk about the ostrich ninja?
I just found your channel. Loving the content. Definitely getting a plinket vibe
Now that I see this again, damn is hard to sync English voices in a Japanese show
LMFAO this video had me crying of laughter, but most of the stuff you pointed out is so true, love the content!!
7:00
Princesses are typically damsels in distress and that fits Mokuba (the perpetual hostage) pretty well, honestly.
4:36 still better than yugis, she actually plays multiples of (at that time) good cards :P
You know Duke finding out about Pegasus's true colors would be a much better plotline, honestly.
duke was playing with loaded dice he swapped the regular ones for his special ones just like crowler used his deck vs jayden
hey man i just discovered your channel, and enjoy the content, im getting back into yugioh, i played from 02 to 13, use to be big into going to regionals, states, and YCS; but going to get back into it casually with a Burn deck. Anyways subbed, and have an awesome day.
8:02 I don't feel so good brother.
Elias Castillo lol literally just made that joke for Mai
Shut up mokuba
Didn't knew these were fillers, but it definitely felt like it. I felt irritated by that little duelist girl and that duel that is unbelievably the same as between Yugis grandpa and his friend. And then even started to skip that bs dice monsters game that was super boring and unnecessary. Just bunch of annoying stupid stuff in these episodes. While watching this video I was loudly agreeing to you "YES, THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT EXACTLY"
WOAH THEY KNOW THE BASICS OF PLAYING A GAME, THEY"RE THE BEST I'VE EVER SEEN
I love the editting joke, I hope they are well fed!
LOVE YOUR CONTENT
While these are boring filler stuff. They do each have something that comes up later. First we introduce Rebecca who returns in season four. Then it introduces the virtual world and big five for season three part one. And then introduces Duke who becomes a recurring character
4:04 try to swim to austria
