    The statement about the Knights leg being cut off despite being encased in Armour gives one the impact these weapons had on the battle field! Quite deadly! And the poor chap with the wound to his skull! These weapons also drove the weapons race and armor. By the time of Henry Vlll warriors were completely encased,but gunpowder was showing up more prominent by then. Well done as always!

      Yes, knights thigh lost at battle of Dublin 1171 and beserkers also believed to be present. Skull damage from viking grave in Dublin!

    The ability of the late Medieval Irish to wield axes was undoubtedly as fantastically skillful, fast & deadly as that of a professional Japanese Samurai fighting with their Katana swords. My money would be on the Irish axman to prevail over a quintessential Samurai, due mainly to better strength & ferocity & equal dexterity. Uber Badass ☘️☘️☘️
