Because for what I see it I think they just shit out a game every year and literally every one of them is not based off of what players want, its based off of how many supply drops they can force down players throats until they buy a rare one. For battlefield it actually does take them 3-4 years to make each game. Just because the teams of each rotation for COD Have a break for a while each time doesn't mean they start working immediately, they take time to analyze what feedback they got, and statistics for how much money they make. It's simple. just look at what kind of company they are.

how was the zeppelin "impractical?" It worked extremely well at the beginning of the war (before incendiary bullets where invented) it could fly higher than planes if you shot it it didn't matter (most guns couldn't shoot that high any way) the gas was stored in many compartments so it didn't matter if you shot it and was horrifying to the enemy... not trying to be rude but I like me Zeppelin.. lol
It was terrifying in the same way the Mark 1 was. It was just a behemoth and not everyone knew what it did. But as time went on people refined tanks into smaller, more practical and useful devices.
From what I read its main affect was psychological, to instill terror into the enemy, especially their civilian population (zepplins would do bombing runs on civilian targets). Weren't they pretty ineffective otherwise even at the beginning of the war?
Leviathan The zepellin was terrifying to infantry but didn't work that well when it comes to bombing because it was very unprecise.
Leviathan even if it got shot down it would create devastation look at the Hindenburg disaster
They were essentially made of thermite, which is highly volatile. So once a fire got into the structure the Zeppelin was doomed, not because of the gas but the structure itself would crumble.
Battlefield lets us play as pigeons 🕊. Next thing you know COD will have playable fish 🐟.

Carrier pigeons were shot at. I remember there is a decorated pigeon that the UK troops used in world war I to send out messages to help (they were surrounded and cut off). The pigeon made it (after several before had been shot down) with one of it's legs shot off. But the message got through and the soldiers were saved.

Thanks for that link, I wasn't aware of this pigeon's role in saving the 77th. I know that eventually the Germans formed units of trained falcons specifically used to intercept the carrier pigeons.

then how can u like the last 3 bf games including this one? they lean far closer to cod then bf2 or 1942 did. which is dissapointing considering thats what the bfbc IP was for and according to dice's president years ago, bf and bfbc were always supposed to stay as 2 seperate entities, with bfbc being more COD like to compete in that market. I have Origin Access, if you are part of Origin Access you can play a trail version of the game (basically the full game but you are limited to 10 hours of play time) right now, I have been playing it and all the maps are awesome as fuck.

I'm new to battlefield, so this whole franchise is quite refreshing. I was a CoD player, but since that's dying I switched over.
The movements are so jerky, it's just as you'd expect, and I love the games for that. There's are vehicles besides some shitty robots, I love the games for that. I loved actually seeing doors, shutters, and walls crumble as I blew them up and shot them, this whole series is great.

The scopes and the guns look old, but despite that gunplay in BF1, especially sniping, has an extremely weird feel that I cannot describe, it feels extremely good, unbelievably responsive and sharp.

Sniping on conquest is kinda pointless now that tickets are only affected by flags. But you still can clear an objective.

well the game plays now for free with online mode and all, some people took over battlefield 2 and that so people can play them online, i have battlefield 1 but i will go and play some 2142 agein, it was a great game, and great times indeed
I had the funniest bug on a horse today 😂😂 instead od my player taking out the Sword it glitched and he held the rifle as a sword and swung it around just like a sword 😂 it was hilarious how I technically wacked ppl with my rifle and killed them 😂

There is also a pigeon related mode in single player. A pigeon coup spawns somewhere on the map, and players got to pick it up and deliver it to a certain spot to send it out for reinforcements.

And in squad they mostly don't stick together like they should. sucks if you play solo but it works great when you got a full fire team

What about the mud and water on your gun. You start with a clean gun, go into water, and it gets covered in beads of water, go prone or sprint in mud and your gun gets caked with it, go back in the water and it cleans the dirt off. Pretty cool

I'm gonna trigger all of you by saying this: Battlefield Hardline is a good game. I've played every battlefield since Bad Company 1. Bf3 and Bad Company 2 were my favorites. imo they fixed bf4 then ruined it for me. they murdered revolvers and m320 smoke/flashbang. they took my prime method of trolling away. M320 FB can't kill anymore with direct impact and M320 smoke has a broken hitbox.
Skullhammer98 I couldn't stand the insanely fast time to kill in Hardline, and the rooftop camping was stupid and very hard to counter with the bullshit laser tripmine spam and broken underpowered grapple hook.

221Prohunter Every time I've used the m320 FB after the patch where they murdered revolvers i couldn't hit anyone not even at point blank aiming directly at them. And my m320 smoke could as long as it was a chest or headshot
And actually in most maps the grappling hook could hook to surfaces you wouldn't expect. For example in Riptide where the ladders are tripmined and there's half a team on the roof, you can grapple pretty much anywhere to sneak on the roof and destroy them all
+221Prohunter I totally agree with your first comment, and I find the gun variety to be a little weak if you don't have the DLCs (which they gave out for free on Origin, but unfortunately I was on holiday when the biggest DLC Betrayal was free xP), and team balance/64 player server spawns are tedious at times, but otherwise it's a pretty good and fun game IMO. Oh, also the singleplayer. Duh.

By the way, armoured trains like the one you see in Battlefield really did exist in the First World War, and not just as munitions carriers. They rarely appeared on the front line, as the rails were vulnerable to sabotage and bombardment, but as well as tank, supply and troop transport, armoured trains were used as mobile artillery platforms and anti-aircraft batteries.

one of the coolest things I've seen, it's if you do get set on fire a prompt comes up that tells you that if you run away while on fire it will burn you very fast and you will die, and if you lay down and crawl around it will extinguish the fire. My friends and I included were very impressed by this extra step of detail that dice added.... very cool.

The most crazy part is the setting. I'm a huuuuge military history nerd and the world wars just fascinate me. WW2 has been so over used in games that a new breath of fresh mustard gas filled air is what we need. WW1 is such gray war, with not many black and white aspects. The countries were just rivals with something to prove. I can't wait to see how dice handles these parts of history.
The Sharkologist it's not %100 percent historically accurate, but it's still a world one shooter, also, if you're into the world's wars then you will probably really like the campaign.

The Tankgewehr is probably my fav thing about this game. The sound and the fact it fucks up vehicles.

I dont like how ottoman has tanks in this game, Britain took away ottomans army and weaponry, Ottoman was so weak ( they still won and kicked ass ) that even women and underage children fought in the battlefield and they were brave, they rushed in with a bayonet when they ran out of ammo isntead of going into cover, thats how they fought, as good as they can to save the nation
I like how when you are caught on fire, if you keep running, you will still be on fire. If you prone, it will stop...basically follows the "stop, drop, and roll" rule.

Having played the 10 hour play first trial I encountered almost no bugs, hit registration Is perfect, the game runs smoother than battlefield 4 does currently
hows the performance? any RAM problems? heard there was a major memory leak in alpha.
I had a memory leak once in beta but no times in play first, I have a 1080 and get 70 to 90 fps in 4k, never actually checked if the graphics were maxed but that doesn't matter because was already the prettiest game I've ever played
I have played 20 hours in the trial over the weekend and hit level 29. Honestly, I would advise getting this game. There was literally barely any bugs. There was a couple of flying ragdoll moments and sometimes your healing/ammo stations would disappear but that was all I encountered. The performance was great, I only play on low for competitive however, ultra on the story mode was completely stunning, even low quality looks good - just not as good.
As for the RAM, my friend has 10GB of RAM at 325MHz (Something around there) and he can still run it on HIGH. Yes, only 325MHz, it's very low.

What I love about this game is that when you see bullets flying around and hear explosions they're not some fake environmental shit to make it feel more "real". They're REAL bullets that players shoot and REAL explosions by grenades

Actually pigeons did sometimes get shot at. In early October of 1918, an American battalion of the 77th "Liberty" Division got lost in the Argonne Forest and became surrounded by German forces. In an effort to help, American artillery tried to shell the Germans without actually knowing where the lost battalion was. They ended up shelling the battalion. The lost battalion then sent the pigeon Cher Ami (French for "Dear Friend") to tell the artillery to stop and redirect their fire. When the Germans saw the pigeon take off, they tried to shoot it down. Cher Ami flew 25 miles to deliver the message and arrived with a bullet hole in her chest, missing a leg and was blind in one eye. She saved 200 American soldiers that day. Army medics managed to save Cher Ami and even carved a wooden leg for her. Cher Ami retired after that and the French even awarded her the Croix de Guerre, one of France's highest military honors for bravery in battle.
