Omg, how much of a relief it is to hear a man say "this is the woman I love and want to spend the rest of my life with, cheating hasn't been a thing thats crossed my mind". My man and another guy at the NYE party the other night were both saying they didn't get open relationships because relationships mean monogamy and the other point of a relationship is not having the annoyance of dating and meeting new people etc. It was so nice to hear not only my guy but another guy expressing that, like oh ok there ARE men who not only dont cheat but dont WANT to cheat. As a woman with her own trust issues- it really is her own battle to fight and there’s nothing this guy can do. I feel bad for him.
I had to be real with myself and make conscious effort to not be so distrusting because it was repelling any possible good relationship. I realized I was basically asking these dudes to enable me and be miserable until I could miraculously trust them.
I had to see I was the problem in order to fix it. And unfortunately it seems like this lady won’t see it about herself until this good guy is long gone.

Me like many others have been in a comparable situation. Jealousy is absolute poison to a relationship. Not being trusted by the person you love hurts! The sad thing was that she didn't seem to be able to control it, it wasn't rational but more of a mental problem. It eventually ruined the relationship of six years.

In my experience, the people this jealous are the ones you can't trust. They'll cheat on you the second they can, if they haven't already. They think "If I am cheating, my boyfriend must be."

Common thing, tbh. This happened to me twice and each time it was basically the end of the relationship. Always very obvious, btw. All the sudden a friend of your GF that you never speak to will randomly hit you up and start flirting, lol. Clunkily. Poorly. Poorly acted. Obvious.

My guess is she got with him because he was safe at the time and she felt in control of the relationship. Now that his health has improved her insecurities are bubbling up and she could end up cheating or has already cheated because she treated him like a possession from the start, it was just more secure before.
My recommendation is marriage counselling and perhaps her own counselling to unpack any trauma from parents cheating or her being cheated on.

This is called "transference" - usually done by a Narcissist that's doing the deed themselves and just accuses you of it to make themselves a victim.
Her insecurity needs to be addressed or their marriage will not survive. Good marriages are work. They both need to talk to each other and figure out what they both can do to strengthen the bonds. Maybe couples counseling so she can figure out why she’s so insecure. Because it’s 100% a her issue.
I planned an awesome trip with my ex. Fun first two days. Then she got mad at me for being too nice to the person making the coffee i bought for her. That "test" is nuts and reflects really poorly on her. He came to her right away, proving that he trusted her and was unwilling to betray that, but she revealed that it was a ruse because she didn't trust him and WAS willing to betray that, which means she has some deep insecurities. If she's not willing to sit down and actually hash things out and get to the bottom of both why she's feeling and acting like this, and why it bothers him, the marriage is over.

Two points in support of her
1) certain people don't perceive flirting
2) all the cases of men where this is the case.
She could be responding to the attention he's receiving that he's a bit blinded to because of self-esteem issues plus his love for her; she could absolutely be seeing an uptick in female attention.
I think kindness and validation are key here and how the behavior is impacting him. She might also have to do her own self- esteem work. But because points 1&2, she's not crazy, she's worried about losing him. She needs to be validated that her reasons for feeling that way may be valid but assured he's with her and also held accountable for behavior that involves deception on her part.
My most recent ex absolutely loved testing me on the regular. I’m 40, and of course everyone fails when it’s constant…. Needless to say, the relationship was toxic as all hell, ladies it’s ok to test during dating, but knock it off when you commit or you run away good men or make them crazy.
