That area between Vordt and Dancer has always fascinated me. In the retail version, on the stairs that lead up where that blue knight is with the epitaph you can maneuver the camera around and look down the voids on each side you can see a gravel like ground texture that's quite clearly misaligned. Its a small thing but for me it was like finding a lost treasure or something. Great vids!
The Consumed King's Garden should retain the Pus of Man it has in the retail version, even if they're not present in the alpha. That way they feel like a build-up towards King Gundyr awaiting you at the end, being pretty much the ultimate Pus of Man
In the final game, the bridge that the stray demon patrols can be seen from the high wall and the side of the bridge that is blocked off, is hastily deleted. I remember at some point, that bridge was completed and it took you to an area behind the castle. I think at that time during development, it took you to Archdragon Peak, which at the time was called “The Great Bridge of Pilgrimage” and the Nameless King was a mandatory boss. This is from memory so I’m probably off. Lol
many people say that the bridge goes to the right side of the map, but there was never an asset for this, they are always on the left side, I have images of this, I am not saying that it never existed, just that there were never found builds with these assets. About Archdragon Peak, actually it was after Consumed Kings Garden XD, I found this path cut.
@@abyss1ne17 Yeah, that’s it 😆 The path that takes you to untended graves took you to the great bridge. I remember now because the enemy placement in the final build never made sense to me. Those snake men were just sort of there for no reason. 😅
Thank you so, so much for sharing footage of this rare material. I still can't believe your channel hasn't exploded with the From Soft fanatics like myself. Please keep up the amazing work!
It would have made a lot more sense to have had the carthus catacombs connected to this royal crypt area in terms of pure level design. Given the plot would have been very different at this point. The fall into the dark intended graves of firelink shrine never made that much sense. Especially if the shrine was ever meant to be a real location that you could freely walk to and from like the previous games. This whole area felt like a scrapped afterthought in the final version.
Royal Crypt is Consumeds king Garde ? This map level came from Archdragon peak, in one of the game's versions, the castle and the Flying Dragon Bridge were connected by this part.
@@abyss1ne17 I remember that. I was just thinking if you moved the catacombs and entrance to the kings garden it would visually make sense as the end of the garden is a crypt. Not that this was at any point a thing.
@@alephnole7009 but wasnt the original entrance to catacombs located behind the monument in giant root trees boss area? the mouldmakers covenant one. I remember there is a video where you see that theres no momument there. Also the area has assets very fitting for catacombs
@@rolfkaese I'm not talking about actual cut content or beta versions. ONLY the levels themselves and how they could be rearranged to fit together in a better way
I just found your video series and they are fantastic! Thank you for the work you put into these. I did have a question and maybe you might have some insight. I had read in a game article on two different sites before DS3 was released and they called the area The Highwall of Lodeleth. Two separate outlets said they were shown a portion of the Highwall but said it was called Lodeleth and not Lothric. Was it actually called this at any point that you are aware of? I was thinking maybe Ludleth was called Lodeleth early on or maybe it was called the Highwall of Ludleth and they got the name wrong.
The build presented at gamescon and tgs was called High wall of Lodeleth if I'm not mistaken, this could represent a lot, it could be that this was the name of the king, it could be that Lothric is called Lodeleth, it could even be just one placeholder and the realm could be High wall of Aldrich, since you see a Lothric statue with a sword of the Old King of Eclipse character that was changed at the last minute to be Pontiff, and that might have been the name of the realm, stay hard to say, but i've already decided the name, i can't introduce it yet, but you can go with it, i understand that ds3 really is very problematic with it.
ahhhh, and thank you very much for the words, I'm very happy, it's a project that has been planned for 2 years, I'm glad that many people liked it, thank you.
@@abyss1ne17 thank you so much for the reply! It could mean a lot of things like you said. Lodeleth could have been before they settled on Lothric, it could have been named for Ludleth before a name change and story change etc. I was really curious if there was anything on Ludleth being called Lodeleth, since they are so close. I will keep an eye out for your new videos and good luck on the project! It's shaping up to be very impressive!

The ambition and technical skill grows. Truly a marvel to see.

That will be maintained, I also see that makes sense.
The 4 chairs makes me think you would have needed the 4 lord souls to continue
It's the four pillars of Lothric, there were no thrones or anything like that before. =]
