He's the face of Democracy, politics, rule and law. He continues to be our voice; and that I am profoundly Thankful for!
One of the beauties of our form of government is that federal politicians give the opportunity for people outside the state they primarily represent to express how that politician also represents me so well - he's my voice, too - even though I'm 3,000 miles west in CA. I can only hope that Marylanders continue to re-elect this GIANT of a man, who is beloved nationally and is so greatly needed in Washington.

I don't like most news programs anymore, but I stumbled upon this program and plan to follow this because it was done with respect for this noble man and his family.

I’m grateful to all of you from other countries who share your insights with us. Often it feels like confirmation that we’re not all insane.
This man teaches us peace is strength. He's lost his son, he's battled with cancer, and yet instead of turning to hate, he fights for Democracy and the rule of law, all of our rights, peacefully. No gun waving, no racist or sexist insults or threats, or gang of goons, just legislative action using the power of his office to promote peace. He reminds me of the trees and the river and the rocks that he has walked amongst his whole life. USA could learn a lot from this man, and for all of our sakes, I hope we do.
Yes, he makes cb us see and hear and we can fight but have grace and it’s a tough lesson for people like me that respond with anger to what some are doing to our Democracy. I need to be similar. I am 77 and B I should have learned that by now.

He has become one of my heroes! When I heard him at the insurrection hearings say that his daughters didn't ever want to go back to DC, you could see how heartbroken he was because he has spent his life working for the American people in the effort to strengthen our democracy. I cried for him knowing he had just lost his son six days before the insurrection. Jamie Raskin is the kind of leader we need desperately right now and I'm so very happy he is in remission.

I am ashamed that Rep Raskin has given us so much, and i somehow missed the personal cost to him. Rarely do I cry during political interviews, heck, I try not to watch too many, but I hold such deep respect, and yes love for this incredible figure that I wanted to know more. We have so much to be thankful for in the work of the Committee.
It was a shattered vase, our treasured piece, a shocking loss…and the Committee members and their staff picked up the pieces for us to bring the beauty back. All of it memorable and healing, Young Cassidy's testimony, the officers who were in tears and who never let us forget, they represented all the others from that day.
Raskin is a Constitutional Law Professor who puts us at ease….we'll get through this.

I have so much admiration and respect for Rep. Raskin. As someone who has suffered a loss of a loved one by suicide and then battled cancer along with having a son that almost lost his life at the hands of a reckless driver my own depression dealing with almost losing him and battling cancer then covid. If I were an American living in the USA, and if Jamie Raskin were ever to run as president for the USA, I would feel honoured voting for him.
I lost my adult son and to this day I cannot shake the heartbreak and probably never will. When I listen to Mr. Raskin, I feel hopeful that maybe healing will happen eventually. I also lost a family member to suicide and that experience was so devastating. He was just 22 at the time. It has been 40 years plus and his tragic death still pains me. Mr. Raskin is an inspiration for all that he has exposed himself to even through his battle with Cancer. Thank you for your service and hopefully soon we will see the fruits of your work renew and revive our democracy.

Being home the last couple of years , I watched SENATOR RASKIN speak many times and I have so much respect for him. His love for his Country and his Family show in everything he does. He serves others with all he has, with wisdom and integrity. I lost my daughter when she was 15 due to suicide as well. His strength and courage after the loss of his son and during his own battle with cancer have been inspiring. I am so grateful for his dedication and service to protect and preserve our Democracy.

Anyone notice a stark contrast between democrats and republicans? I feel at peace, not threatened, they are both so peaceful. When I see videos of republican thugs, it's nothing but yelling, death threats, flashing rifles/guns at the camera, threatening prison or impeachment to innocent people, etc.

I had no idea about Jamie Raskin's sons death. He is and has been one of the best our country has. Knowing this about his son only makes me even more impressed and more in gratitude for how hard he fights to protect our precious democracy. To have gone through all he & his family have been through over the last few years is humbling for any of us but to go through the beyond tragic loss of his son & dealing with all that comes with a cancer diagnosis in the midst of intense grief AND remain so strongly engaged in his work as a member of such a crazy Congress is just amazing. I have so much appreciation for Raskin, and gratitude that he is cancer-free. We need him! I wasn't aware that he lost his son. I lost my son when he was 25 to drowning. It's really hard, and leaves an ache in the heart that I don't think will ever go away. I wish him all the best.
I have mad respect for Jamie Raskin. Hearing him speak in the days that followed January 6th gave me chills. He was powerful and his message was clear. When I found out he had just lost his son I was absolutely heartbroken for him. I lost my son in March. The pain is unbearable sometimes. The way Mr. Raskin powered through everything is amazing. I wish he would run for president.

I’m so glad to hear Mr. Raskin is in remission (and I can agree with him that chemo is grueling. How he continued to sit in Congress and remain passionate and outspoken while undergoing that is nothing short of amazing to me), and I’m so sorry for the loss of his son, Tommy. Jamie Raskin is a National Treasure, and I wish him a long, healthy and happy life. We need many more honest, fair, kind, intelligent people like him in Congress. As Madeleine Khan said in Blazing Saddles (I think), “What a great guy”.
I was glad to get caught up on this full picture of what Mr. Raskin was going through. Wishing him all the love and blessing, with gratefulness for his service.
So grateful his cancer is in remission. Prayers go out to him for a 100% healthy future. I love him so very much!!!!!!

I can relate to Mr. Raskin as a mother who has lost a son to violence. It’s so hard to move on from that alone. Yet he had to deal with fighting for his life and the insurrection. When I lost my son I felt no fear I didn’t care what happened to me I felt like dying myself but I had other children who needed me. So we fight. You have so much strength and yet you fight for us as well. I have nothing but respect for you Sir. May God keep providing you with the will power to carry on. Congratulations on beating cancer ❤ may God keep you healthy and strong peace and happiness you deserve it! God bless you ❤
