Michael Bolton's words are true in my opinion and the fact that the author of the song thought she was the best choice to sing this duet with him says a lot. Not to mention that I had no idea what it took for her to be on this stage with no preparation and tired from the travel. It didn't even show. I'm sure you all know by now that I really am a fan - whenever I react to Lara's performances I simply know in advance it will be fun, pleasant and even a bit naughty at times, but always enjoyable.

Gracias, Maria Isabel! They were both great and kind of cute, even with all the differences between them, it fit so sweetly together. Don't worry, there will be more and more of Lara and there are already 12 reactions, but it seems I'm still only scratching the surface. ❤❤❤
No matter what anyone says, he's cool.❤ To be honest, this is the first time I've seen him so focused. I suspect that he had problems with his voice and health. Michael also sang with Seal at the same event. There, too, the voice was a little higher than usual. Anyway, he did his job well. Lara looked very relaxed and natural. Obviously, they are very warm to each other.😊
At this dvd David Forster said " She flew from Russia where she just had a huge concert just few hours ago, she came straight to L.V and she is now here to sing for us. She had no time to resting or rearsheal after 12 hours in an airplane." ;) They also didn't practice together before this lovely performance. Lara just made it from Moscow (after her concert) directly to L.V and started singing with him. She is so professional and confident. Did you notice one of the backing vocals claping hands at the ginal note the both made, I mean Lara's modulation at this final note is INSANE, switch from mixed to head then mixed chest again going higher EFFORTLESS. The one and only Lara Fabian as David Forster said. Ps: Note how nervous Michael seemed while singing, he was definitely focus on the lyrics because he can't speak Italian at all, which Lara is fluent both English and Italian. She seemed so confident as usual, she tried so bad to biid a conection with him, she was looking at him, she evn touched his hand, vut just in the end he was able to share the emotion with her. 😮
In a way I am proud of Michael for holding his own with her, especially now that I know more details. The fact that she could still perform this beautifully after so much hassle has stopped surprising me. I think she can only surprise me if she doesn't astound everyone. Of course I noticed her efforts in connecting vs. his intense focus, but I think nevertheless that they both did an excellent job vocally and this was a lovely, albeit slightly funny to watch, duet. 😉
Hey, Aleks. 😊 She also sang Caruso in the same night/event. And before she got into the stage, David said that Lara has the most beautiful voice of the world, and that her voice is at the top of the top of the voices in the world. Fun fact: they met in 1995 in NYC after David had been informed that there was a Belgium/Canadian young singer who was able to hit the G5 in chest/mixed voice, he couldn't believe and called her to arrange a meeting between them, then Lara sang a song acapella for him and did a G5 in chest/mixed voice effortless, then he decided to introduce her to Barbara Straisand, whom is one of her idols. He invited Lara to a restaurant in Boston and secretly also invited Barbra. Lara said that she couldn't believe when she got in the restaurant and saw Barbra and David waiting for her, Lara was 25 years back then. Years later Barbra called Lara and asked her to make a cover of Lara's songs called Broken Vow, which Lara said YES, but Barbra decided not to do after been informed that all the money would go to Sony Music and not to Lara, because Lara had broken her contact with Sony after the company have boycotted her in the USA just to promote Celine Dion instead of Lara in 2001.
The story you shared is so interesting. Thank you so much for that. I have also been a fan of Barbara Streisand for years. In fact, I grew up with her music along with many others my dad used to play on our cassette player when I was a child. Personally, I am glad that Barbara took a stance to, in a way, protect Lara here. I did know about the Celine Dion vs. Lara Fabian promotion/lack of promotion, but I did not know how Lara and Barbra met. Might be my fault, as I am sure @ericsicard910 shared quite a lot about her life and work. It's just that I enjoy reading the comments after my reactions, so that it can all sink in. Thanks again! 😊
I actually loved the interactions at the very end here. I don't know how to explain it, Michael Bolton, although a serious singer by the time this is done, sort of acted like a shy child, but very sweet. I will certainly hear many more of her duets.
Oh, that makes total sense to me. I know a guy since childhood who played for years in a Canadian metal band he started with his friends and he was one of the sweetest guys I've known.
What a beautiful, perfect way to start this Sunday. I'm not a religious person, but this performance is a spiritual experience. Lara's music is the only church I need. I'm so glad you were able to sort out the issue with this reaction.
I'm not religious either, but I understand what you mean. Really great music can do that. The issue it seems just needed 30 days of patience and some luck in this case. I am glad you had the chance to hear it and that I didn't need to move it anywhere. Let's hope it stays that way.
Lara just continues to bring me joy, and even if her duet partner seemed a bit frightened, he was sweet as well. Love to you as well Martin and to Denmark! ❤❤❤
Thanks Aleks for your reaction. I've heard this performance in the past. I like it a lot, but mostly because of the sound of Lara. I feel in this performance that she had to hold back a little , as not to overpower Michael. She's a master in this kind of duets. My favorit duets are a bit more matched, Lara with Johnny and Lara with Maurane (tu es mon autre) where the flow is more naturel and there is interaction between them. Even live this looks and feels like an recording from oceans apart.😀And Lara looks like she is doing her best to interact with him, while performing. Yes women can multitask. But in this case it was a lost cause. But the song is great and with your eyes closed the performance is as well.
I don't know, I still warmed to Michael here - it's a bit funny, a bit off too, but nevertheless both excellent voices, a great match and he was so sweet once he finally relaxed (after the song). She is the stronger singer here, but they do make it work due to the color of their voices, I think. Lara with Johnny was more powerful, but made me blush a bit because of "too much" interaction. Yet, it was in fact playful too. They made it into a masterpiece even in that rain. I am yet to hear Lara with Maurane, but I do plan to cover all of Lara if I can, so no song left behind.
I was surprised you were reacting to another cover of the Prayer already 🤣. But listening to Lara is always a treat. I've never been a big Bolton fan, but I can't deny the man can sing. Loved your reaction as always.
Oh, this is not already - this was recommended 30 days ago and it waited to get out of "blocked" jail. So, now it's finally available. Also, it's Lara and people have been waiting for this, including me. 😂 Always good to hear you enjoyed it! Thank you!
@@AleksReacts Sorry, I was just being silly. You've said before you weren't a big fan of this song, and that you needed a break from it. Just me trying to be funny, not so successfully😆.
yes! so glad you brought this up. What a measured duet. with complementery tonality and excellent timing. Lara did seem a lot more at ease than Michael Bolton, but it didn't matter.
@@AleksReacts As an avid romance books reader and a huge Jane Austen’s fan, all I see there is the “grumpy and sunshine” trope personified. 😂 Kind of “Darcy and Lizzy”. 🤎
Here Bolton was 61 years old and seemed a bit nervous and "stiff" for the performance or maybe intimidated by Lara (who is always in control in all situations 😆), probably because it was not possible to rehearse the song since Lara had just arrived on a flight from Russia (but she could not miss the invitation of her friend David Foster, also Canadian, and author of the song). Strangely The Prayer was born as a solo version but has known success as a duet (practically everyone has sung it) in Italian and English because two versions were written since it is the song of the Warner cartoon "La spada Magica (in Italy sung by Bocelli)" and "Quest for Camelot (sung by Celine Dion)". In this show Lara also sang Caruso. 👍
@@fredt8038 I don't know if Bolton is a "stiff" person but in this particular situation, for the reasons I said, he was not very relaxed. It's my impression, maybe wrong, but Lara's face also seems tired to me, probably because of the long journey and the time zones, but she is always good at managing difficult situations and putting her partner at ease. 😉
@fredt8038 I've only ever heard I believe one Michael Bolton song before this, but that was in the 80's and yes, he did seem kind of "stiff" in the video. To me it seems like he's so serious about getting it right and possibly even a bit shy. @57Gauloises57 In this situation though, now that I know there's been no rehearsal, that he actually already heard Lara sing Caruso "fresh of the plane" and that his part was in Italian, I find it rather justified. I already skimmed over all the comments, so quite a lot of background to this performance that I didn't know about when reacting to it. Funny how a song can change based on who's singing it or how it's format is changed...
@@AleksReacts Yes, it is possible that he had some problems singing in Italian, maybe they could have left the part in Italian to Lara but they are two great professionals and the duet is excellent (the lyrics of the song a little less in my opinion). There are always behind the scenes in the show, legend has it that behind the scenes Lara started cooking pasta for Bolton, we ask Eric Sicard for confirmation. 😆 The latest news, not good, is that Bolton had to cancel the tour because in December he underwent surgery for a brain tumor. It seems that the operation was successful but it is not a pleasant thing. 🤕
@@AleksReacts Other gossip says that Lara sang at David Foster's wedding and that Foster himself arranged the meeting between Lara and her idol Barbra Streisand by inviting her to dinner in New York without telling Lara. Lara was very surprised by this unexpected meeting. Here too we ask Eric for confirmation. 😁
Ciao, sono molto contento che sei riuscita a sbloccare questo video senza problemi perché è molto bello e complimenti per la tua bella reazione a questo duetto. Bravi tutti, Ciao e tanti saluti.
Grazie mille! I am also very glad it was unblocked eventually and that it seems the reaction is similar to many that the viewers had. What did you think about Michael's pronunciation of Italian? I'm guessing a true Italian would know better than I would.
Thank you so much! I am very glad to hear that I didn't mishear Michael and that he managed Italian rather well. Yes, it's complex, but it is also very melodic and beautiful. You're not the first to ask for La Solitudine by Lara Fabian & Laura Pausini, but I have added your "vote" to the list. It will happen, most of Lara's repertoire will happen. I do enjoy it so very much. Un abbraccio all'Italia! ❤❤❤
This is a great duet indeed Agreed Mr Bolton here had to extra focus on his vocals but in the end it's understandable due to his age and the fact he had to be up to par with the perfection that is Lara Fabian As I said in other video I've been following and enjoying your reactions to her If I may drop a suggestion for next song, I think You Are Not From Here fron the legendary From Lara with Love concert is the next best song that you haven't done yet And includes a lovely story at the start of the video
I don't know what the reasons may be for Micheal Bolton to be this focused, but in my mind that enriched this performance. Why, I do not know - I just know I enjoyed it. Of course, I've added your suggestion to many others who've asked for that song. It will come up eventually for sure. Thank you!
Oh it worked out, great. Your reaction was exactly as i hoped, thank you Alexs. I think Michael is the only Man who is immune against Lara's charm, whatever she tried to loose him up, it didn't work😂. Oh and i will never understand why Michael sang the italian part and not Lara who’s half Italian.
I'm very happy that simple patience and luck made this work for everyone. It was a long wait, but for me it was really worth it. I am very glad that it could be published and that you enjoyed it as well. 🥰 As for him not falling for Lara's charms, I'm not sure if that's what happened - maybe it was because of her charms that he was so "focused". Not sure if the Italian part is more meant for his voice, but I think he did a really good job, unexpectedly so. Once again, thank you for holding my hand a month ago. It gives me even more joy that I could share this with you, after all. ❤❤❤
Some have said that maybe Michael Bolton should look on a teleprompter to sing the part in Italian. Anyway, always an excellent reaction and a magnificent performance from Lara. My only fear, every time I watch this video and I see Michael's face turn red, I'm always scared that his head is going to explode😆.
I am so glad you enjoyed the reaction! 😂 at the exploding Michael's heart - some of that might be due to Lara. 😉 She is beautiful and with that voice and personality can conquer any heart. I was pleasantly surprised by Michael's lack of accent in Italian, teleprompter or not. It's fair to say they both did an excellent job.
🇨🇦. Finally, LOL ! That portion when you backtracked to hear again them singing together, did you notice that Lara had her hand on his arm, as if a physical connection was required for them to be in sync ? Maybe his 'focus' was needed for him being nervous about singing in Italian ! Just my thinking. . . . Maybe now, we can return to the 🪑 or maybe you might get to "You're not from here" at last ! By the way, when you do, bring tissues ! 🇨🇦
Yes, I did. Can't believe I didn't say that. Typical female mind, so many thoughts at the same time, we believe we said them all and then wonder how could you guys not know. 🤣 As in life, so it is in reactions. 😇 At some points, it really seemed to me like he was literally shy - some of the background story explains why: the Italian, Lara singing Caruso before this (no preparation), just seeing her there, so many reasons that he is totally forgiven. And he was so sweet at the end. I've only gone over 12 songs so far, we're not too old, I'll get to the rest of them as well. This one lacked chairs, but was really, really good and so much fun! ❤❤❤
What a gift!!! I’m so happy it worked out in the end and you were, finally, allowed to post this, Aleks! 🙌🏻 I’m not quite a fan of this song but, IMO, this performance is beautiful, regardless Michael’s evident “lack of interaction skills”. He was just too tense! And I highly suspect that hearing Lara singing Caruso earlier that night, didn’t quite help. Let’s face it, he just couldn’t handle it and got petrified… The man was clearly trying too hard and in pain there. 🤷🏻♀️ But Lara is the most gracious and generous duet partner ever and I bet she, being intense just as she is, was struggling to establish at least some eye contact, maybe if just to give him some reassurance… At some point, she even patted his back. But he remained as still as a statue. Actually, Bolton got lucky there (or not quite…🤭), bc Lara can defo get really persuasive and intense indeed when she’s inspired… Seriously, the woman is such an adorable flirt! These links below are not for you to react to, dear Aleks. It was everything you all said it would be - fun, funny, sweet, cute and above all musically excellent! I am also not a great fan of the song, but I warmed up to Michael Bolton here because of both of their behavior. Once again my dear, thank you for being patient with me - it paid off in the end. ❤️❤️❤️
This interview is a must for all Lara fans. It is very personal and shows so much of her wisdom and charm. ruclips.net/video/jt_bcTKyPYc/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Aleks, thank you for appreciating this great duet with Lara and Michael Bolton. I understand that Michael can often seem a little stiff when performing, and this is maybe excentuated in this performance as Lara loves to interact with her singing partners. As an example, I refer you to this duet: Lara Fabian and Mario Frangoulis So in love - Cole Porter Live at Mario and Friends concert - Greece 2008 Mario and Lara having fun with this classic song from Cole Porter. ruclips.net/video/KcFpRpcCGDE/видео.html Phil in Scotland
Thank you all so much! As for future reactions, I see it's a conspiracy now! 😂 Phil and Daniela, you have just joined Raquel in her request from June this year to see this duet! You already know it will happen, but the mystery remains around the "when". Love to Scotland, Brazil and Switzerland (in order of appearance on this thread) ❤❤❤
Hmmm, now that I think about it, you're right! It should be far more fierce. 😂 Then again, maybe he was going for the "tall, dark stranger" scary look that fits metal better. You know, different from all the rest. 😉 I liked him, totally unexpectedly.
Ah, that would be a yes! You can find a full list of reactions to each artist right underneath the video, in the description. All reactions I've ever done to Lara Fabian, including Tango, are here: ruclips.net/p/PLZsp8-WYPQ5olRxy3E5fr7p0RAk4QASG- I do hope you'll quite a few songs you might like. ❤❤❤ Regards to Netherlands and Curaçao!
Thank you Aleks for this sublime Duo. The two matched perfectly and the interpretation was masterful. Here is another duo or quartet of Lara and Mickael, as well as participants in the Voice in Canada. Watch this for your pleasure.ruclips.net/video/6amxqO84wRI/видео.html
I think I’ve just found a video from the show Lara made in Russia right before this performance. It’s even the same dress and no wonder why she would be tired… In this link she’s performing “Demain n’ exist pas” with Igor Krutoy on the piano, just the two of them. A very “live” and acoustic version of this beautiful song. I get that Krutoy’s shows are very monumental and appealing to the eyes, but they’re not exactly “live.”, so I really enjoyed to see them performing this in a more intimate way. It’s beautiful. If you don’t want to react to it, Aleks, since it’s not an official video, you should definitely check it out privately. ruclips.net/video/qRC9IV1XPxQ/видео.htmlsi=qLdoPBOyTclgqi2m
@patwelch8187 Sounds like you really love that one, which is totally cool. 😊 I'm happy that there are more versions out there, some really good, some not so much. Thankfully, so far I was lucky to react to some of the best, including Lucy & Martha, Lara & Michael and Marcelito - I thought they were all great.
Did I type that wrong? Blind old lady typing responses on her phone can do that. 😂 I meant Jane Austen, the novelist who wrote Pride and Prejudice featuring Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy (we all know him to be a proud, unpleasant sort of fellow) and Ms. Elizabeth Bennet (who could "easily forgive his pride, if he had not mortified" hers). Even my husband, who really does not like "girly movies" watched the BBC miniseries of Pride and Prejudice and would occasionally smile.
In all seriousness, I highly recommend the BBC miniseries with Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth Bennet and Colin Firth as Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy. It is the closest to the novel, very witty, intelligent conversations, quite a lot of "drama" and Mrs. Bennet's "poor nerves" being stretched to no end in attempts to marry of her FIVE daughters. The cast is top of the line, too. I know you're a man, but this is like recommending Die Hard to women - it's a guy's movie, but it IS really funny regardless. I've watched it a million times and I cannot help but laugh out loud at some of the scenes to this day.
I've only heard him once, but if you get to the end of the video, he is endearing in my view. Still, in terms of singing, I agree. He does have a good and rather pleasant voice, but she's a few classes above him.
Thank you for your patience and for your support with this video @danielakeller7532, @raquelra5878, @Royal_BLT, @fredericvieu6704 and many others! It's finally out!!! Hope you will enjoy it! ❤❤❤

Thank you so much, Hector! It was a pleasure. ❤
Your initial reaction said it all, and a voice to match the looks!
I disclosed what I think before it began, right? 😂
@@AleksReacts yes but I think we all loved it!!
That might be my fault. After reading many serious comments, I sometimes misinterpret jokes as totally serious. ❤ It's not you, it's me (really). 😂
@@AleksReacts 🙏❤
yes! so glad you brought this up. What a measured duet. with complementery tonality and excellent timing. Lara did seem a lot more at ease than Michael Bolton, but it didn't matter.
In a way it's even sweet, as he seemed a bit nervous and very focused. He was so wonderful at the end, quite a gentleman.
@@AleksReacts As an avid romance books reader and a huge Jane Austen’s fan, all I see there is the “grumpy and sunshine” trope personified. 😂 Kind of “Darcy and Lizzy”. 🤎
As a true fan of Jane Austen, I know exactly what you mean! 😂
I never knew Michael Bolton other than "stiff" to be honest, even in the 80s. Perhaps it has to do with his "dark and seductive" persona...😉
This is a great duet indeed
Agreed Mr Bolton here had to extra focus on his vocals but in the end it's understandable due to his age and the fact he had to be up to par with the perfection that is Lara Fabian
As I said in other video I've been following and enjoying your reactions to her
If I may drop a suggestion for next song, I think You Are Not From Here fron the legendary From Lara with Love concert is the next best song that you haven't done yet
And includes a lovely story at the start of the video
Lara❤
At some points, it really seemed to me like he was literally shy - some of the background story explains why: the Italian, Lara singing Caruso before this (no preparation), just seeing her there, so many reasons that he is totally forgiven. And he was so sweet at the end.
I've only gone over 12 songs so far, we're not too old, I'll get to the rest of them as well. This one lacked chairs, but was really, really good and so much fun! ❤❤❤
Agree with you about his attitude: maybe he was afraid to fall under her spell 😉
That's a good take on his attitude. I could believe that. 🙂 Thank you!
They’re just 2 minutes tops clips, for you and whoever clicks on them to have a bit of fun with sassy Lara 😉!

It was everything you all said it would be - fun, funny, sweet, cute and above all musically excellent! I am also not a great fan of the song, but I warmed up to Michael Bolton here because of both of their behavior.
Once again my dear, thank you for being patient with me - it paid off in the end. ❤️❤️❤️
Yes those are funny❤ i love them togather😂❤

@@Royal_BLT 😂 No… 😂
I just watched the „Paroles Paroles“ clip and wow, Lara's flirt level is very high there😊
This interview is a must for all Lara fans. It is very personal and shows so much of her wisdom and charm. ruclips.net/video/jt_bcTKyPYc/видео.htmlfeature=shared
I agree with you. This interview is truly exceptional!
Thank you, I've bookmarked it to watch it later. My job gets in the way sometimes. 😉
Aleks, thank you for appreciating this great duet with Lara and Michael Bolton.
I understand that Michael can often seem a little stiff when performing, and this is maybe excentuated in this performance as Lara loves to interact with her singing partners.
As an example, I refer you to this duet:
Lara Fabian and Mario Frangoulis
So in love - Cole Porter
Live at Mario and Friends concert - Greece 2008
Mario and Lara having fun with this classic song from Cole Porter.

In terms of chemistry, I must say that Lara and Mario are just 🔥🔥together! Aleks sure have to check their duets out!
@@raquelra5878 Yes Lara and Mario have given the word chemistry a new meaning😊
Thank you all so much!
As for future reactions, I see it's a conspiracy now! 😂
Phil and Daniela, you have just joined Raquel in her request from June this year to see this duet! You already know it will happen, but the mystery remains around the "when".
Love to Scotland, Brazil and Switzerland (in order of appearance on this thread) ❤❤❤
@@AleksReacts Great😀
@@AleksReacts Thanks. Really look forward to your reaction.
Do you believe that Michael Bolton started his career as a Metal band singer?
Lol, not what I expected from a metal singer 🤣
🇨🇦 I never realized that ! You surprise me everytime with your trivia, 🤠😎🤣 🇨🇦
He's got the look for it, but what a shift this is from that, right?
@@AleksReacts yes indeed.
But I was more referring here to his expressionless face. Not expected from a metal singer.
Hmmm, now that I think about it, you're right! It should be far more fierce. 😂 Then again, maybe he was going for the "tall, dark stranger" scary look that fits metal better. You know, different from all the rest. 😉
I liked him, totally unexpectedly.
For me Michael Bolton is definitely a great vocalist, no question about it, but he is also a poor performer.
Did you see tango from lara❤❤🇳🇱🇨🇼
Ah, that would be a yes! You can find a full list of reactions to each artist right underneath the video, in the description.
Oh, I'm not sure if I want to watch it alone. I love this song. I hope you won't mind if I add it to the list instead and decide later what to do?
@@AleksReactsNo worries, do as it inspires you.
Thank you. 😊

Thank you, Raquel! I will listen to it privately for sure. 😊
OMG, NOTHING COMPARED TO LUCY THOMAS AND MARTHA'S VERSION..
Seriously?
@patwelch8187 Sounds like you really love that one, which is totally cool. 😊
I'm happy that there are more versions out there, some really good, some not so much. Thankfully, so far I was lucky to react to some of the best, including Lucy & Martha, Lara & Michael and Marcelito - I thought they were all great.
🇨🇦 BTW, who is June Austin ? 🇨🇦
Did I type that wrong? Blind old lady typing responses on her phone can do that. 😂
I meant Jane Austen, the novelist who wrote Pride and Prejudice featuring Mr.
@@AleksReacts LOL. 🇨🇦
I could never stand the song (mostly because of Josh Groban and Charlotte Church) until I heard this version.
I am still not a fan of the song, but some of the versions can be beautiful. I count this one among those.
I've only heard him once, but if you get to the end of the video, he is endearing in my view. Still, in terms of singing, I agree. He does have a good and rather pleasant voice, but she's a few classes above him.
What a nice song but marcelito pomoy sung in a single duet
Both are exquisite performances indeed. 😊
