Another awesome tour, it's so great to see Stuart's games and hats off to him for sharing his hobby with the masses.
Can't wait to go and check it out, I'm in for sure if we have a meet there! Thanks Alex and Stuart.
Cheers Tony
I think it would be good for a change to have it somewhere different.
I’ll get the details up soon.
Great tour, and discussion. Wow, it reminded me of a typical Southend on Sea arcade back in the 90’s. Some real classics. The continual maintenance on that many cabs must be hard work! Nice shop too; when do you ever see speccy games stacked up like that 👍. The Hotline Miami games are a lot of fun!!
Cheers Ed
Really looking forward to playing hotline Miami.
So cool to see spectrum games in a shop it just adds to the history of gaming which every retro shop should have.
Thanks for watching mate
Good god I used to buy games from this guy years ago back in the late ninties when he ran a shop in Wells in Somerset. Nice guy.
What a wonderful collection and more importantly, arcade.
Thanks David 😎👍
I dig the arcade, looked like i saw a Willow conversion in there. Always loved that game. I fear i walked into a game shop for the last time right around 2021 or so. Everything around me is closed down. Refreshing to see his game store and quite a throwback. Excellent! I wish him all the luck.
What a great tour of a really well put together arcade. Fantastic variety of machines, genres and eras, the only negative is that it's a 90min drive away from me. I just looked up that entry is £8 for an entire day, what amazing value, that probably barely covers the electricity these days. Nice work Alex.
Thank you 🙏
Well enjoy your videos remember playing most of them in the 80s thank you
Thanks for watching
@@TheArcadeArchive thank you too
I went here last night and four of us travelled and absolutely loved it! Spent hours in there and could not believe the value for money to go and play! Finding this video after and getting more of an understanding of how it come about and the trust Stuart has to let the general public come in and play on his machines! Will definitely visit again
Hey Alex, thought I'd check in on your channel which I do every so often. Nothing like a passionate video game chat, looks like it was a great time! I grew up in the Playstation 1 era and I've been a Playstation guy ever since really so the arcade machines only existed in places like Whitby I never saw them anywhere else. But the arcades were amazing to experience even if they were only in tourist locations.
Hi jack
Nice of you to comment and watch.
Find memories of me going to Whitby with the scouts and they had the first corkscrew rollercoaster in the uk.
Fun times
that comando cab is a stunner!
great to see arcades that are flourishing like this!
✌✌
It is mate
And looks like you enjoyed yourself at the arcade club recently.
TimeWarp is not as big as arcade club but it’s got a good English arcade feel about it if you know what I mean.
Paid this arcade a visit a year or two ago, great place, really nice selection of games and a fair few sit down racers and lightgun games (and not too far for me to drive to from Brizzle). Really need to pop down there again at some point.
Wow. Absolutely loved that tour.
Out of all the ones you've done, he seemed the nicest guy and the most genuine.
A bit nervous in front of the camera, but refreshing with no massive ego on show.
He had a great mix of cabs and the artwork on that Commando was a cracker.
But most importantly...did you strain your groin on that cycling game with the balloons? ;-)
The Tour de Nerd in Bridgewater Somerset.
Haha I am gutted I didn’t get to play anything as I was worried about my van getting a ticket.
But would have loved to play prop cycle looks a lot of fun.
It’s a great little arcade and well worth the visit.
Thanks for watching Simon
That looks a great place Alex, hadn't heard of it before, some fantastic cabs on show. Really love the artwork on the Commando cab. Would have loved that Sega Cart game on the Dreamcast. The shop looks amazing too. Must add both to my list of places to visit 👍
The commando and pengo cabs were absolutely beautiful.
USA cbs as well very rare to see in the uk.
Worth a visit mate definitely
Awesome .. Always nice to see Arcade places .. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it mate
What an amazing place nice one guys really loved seeing this video.
Glad to see the game room tour videos are coming back, awesome video and very cool collection that he had! 👍🏻
Cheers buddy
Gutted I never got to play prop cycle l.
Thanks dude
Glad you enjoyed it
Wonderful arcade and game shop ⭐️
Cheers mate
That looked fantastic Alex, the amount of extra space upstairs too….tremendous 👌👌
Yea it’s going to be amazing when the upstairs is finished.
Definitely worth a visit Mate
I love the Corneria track from _STAR FOX_ on your way there. A fantastic touch!
Thanks John
Been to both of these places and both are amazing. A lot of effort has gone into making them great places to visit. :)
Fantastic
Wish I lived newer and I would go more often.
'Seaside weirdo' cracked me up. Great stuff Alex, always a fun watch. Timewarp looks great and not too far from me
Haha I seriously could not find the right words for that 😂
That club kart looks amazing 🤩
Yea gutted I don’t get to play it
The Game Room Tours are back! Yes. Nice work Alex 👍
Thanks mate
An excellent selection of games, and nice amount of space. Will be even more brilliant once that upstairs area is open.
The store also looked really well stocked, we have nothing like that over here. Definitely on the list to visit if we ever get the chance to come over there.
I’m gutted I didn’t get chance to play anything as my parking ticket was running out.
Prop cycle looked so much fun.
Awesome looking place. Would have never imagined a decade ago we'd have all these arcades to get to in the UK again.
Nope definitely not
It’s becoming very popular again which is great.
Just not sure how long the games will last .
@@TheArcadeArchive always a concern. As seen with the amount that were currently out of order in this vid. You forget its 30-40 year old stuff
Cool place and sound the the expansion will be great and i like the way you put notes on machines that are broken, looks like you have loads of room to expand and put loads more cabs in will have to make a trip down one weekend.
Please do it’s well worth a trip 😎👍
Great tour Alex, thanks for uploading. Yeah definitely reminded me of arcades of old, great mixture of games, something for everyone. Love that Commando 🤩 it's gotta be a big cab to put up with all the joystick waggling needed haha. Hotline Miami games are fun, need to use your brain as well as need skill. Cheers mate
Yea the commando cab was the star of the show I recon, absolutely stunning cab.
Looking forward to playing hotline Miami as I’ve been after it for ages.
Thanks for watching Ade
Another brilliant video! Fantastic collection of cabinets there, many I used to play myself in Southend back in the 90’s! Would love to visit one day!
Thanks for watching
I hope you get to visit as it’s needs support and would make for a great day out 😎👍
@@TheArcadeArchive it certainly does! Really enjoy watching your videos, keep up the good work!
Great game selection!
Yea he’s got a fantastic set up
Great place to hang out.
Looks proper that. Can't wait to visit!
Only a hour and half from us Tony
Looks like a great arcade to visit. A proper old Skool seaside vibe. Top stuff again mate, hope that you are keeping well 👍
Hi Dean
Yea I’m ok buddy
Glad you enjoyed the vid.
Have to meet up soon.
I’m still listening to your podcast.
@@TheArcadeArchive Definitely mate 👍
This was great, he's got some seriously rare games! Many of these I've never seen before. I'm tempted to try to open/ build a game store addition just haven't figured out how yet. But it's cool to see his other store too.
I would love to do a arcade cafe.
Chatting to fellow gamers all day would be awesome.
Thanks for watching mate
Nice, only just over an hour away from me. Thanks for the video
Excellent 😎👍
Great video mate and a great look around the arcade, will absolutely keep it in mind if I am down that way.
Definitely worth a visit with the family Martin.
Thanks for watching mate
Man this place is so cool and is going to be even bigger that is so impressive wow! So lucky to have all the space for over 60 machines and even chill out spaces. I’m so jealous I have not been it looks awesome to the max! Alex this is a great tour mate fantastic video mate 👍😎🤩
Thanks Scott much appreciated mate.
You must visit next time your in Bridgewater.
Very nice video. Thanks for posting and have a nice day too.
Great video! That arcade was pretty cool. I've never seen cabinets like that here in the states. I haven't been to one since before the pandemic. I used to go to Funspot in Laconia, New Hampshire, USA.
I would love to go to funspot and Chicago to see the barcades that john has a few machines in.
Hopefully this year.
Thanks for watching mate 🇬🇧🇺🇸
Great video mate. And having a UKVAC meet at Timewarp would be awesome.
Thanks shaun
Yes it’s definitely a possibility it’s a nice arcade.
Thanks for the video Alex and great arcade Stewart! Time Warp has a great mix of games. 9/10 for this video, an eclair would have got it a 10/10 😀
Haha 😂
I’ve got to watch my beautiful figure as well 😄
Cheers sean
Great video Alex, always enjoy looking around other people's collections.
A lot of my earlier arcade memories are from Somerset, used to holiday there every year when I was a kid.
Nice to see some speccy in the wild also, great looking shop.
Yea wish I had more time to look around and play the games but I only had a parking ticket for two hours which was annoying.
Thanks for watching dave as always
Nice vid Alex. Stu is a top guy. A lot of my old cabs in there which is nice as I'll get to play them again!
Yea I bet
I recognised a few.
Ukvac meet TimeWarp arcade here we come 😎👍
Great video as always mate! I love the tours there literally my favourite videos on RUclips 👍
Cheers Dan
Hopefully another by the end of the month 👍
Great tour, great cabs!
There was an arcade in my youth that I used to frequent in Lewisham SE London called (I believe - someone correct me if I’m wrong) “Starship Enterprise”.
I spent many a weekend there.
Great name for a arcade 😎👍
Looks great. Never knew it was there, will have to take a trip across the bridge to visit sometime soon.
Probably not far from you mate ?
@@TheArcadeArchive about hour and half I reckon. Need to get over to you first. 😁👍
Cool place
Definitely 😎👍
Loving the Friday night schedule...kicks the weekend off
Have a good one buddy 👍
Omg! Thats my town! Great vid. I have never been in the arcade, I need to. Im always in the shop tho.
It’s your town ? How funny
Dude you need to go to the arcade.
If I lived that close I would be there at a least twice a month.
Awesome video. I really need to make a trip back to Time Warp, such an awesome arcade. Like you say, it's reminiscent of seaside arcades back in the day, with a real mish mash and random selection of machines. And I mean that in a real positive way. It looks like they've got real interesting unusual cabs and oddities as well.
I love that little Galaga cabaret. The British built cabs under licence always hold special appeal for me as that's what I remember playing back in the day. It looked really home friendly as well which is always a bonus.
Did you get a go on Prop Cycle. It was everywhere in the mid nineties, and now it's one you hardly ever see. Awesome game and a decent work out as well.
Man them giant Lordsvale cabs are something else. I don't fancy moving them about haha.
Thanks again, great video. :)
That galaga and snapper cabs were actually made by Alca I got that wrong in the video, but aren’t they gorgeous.
I agree with you it’s just how the arcades were at the beginning of the 90s with a few 80s cabs left over which were still making money.
I didn’t get a go on prop cycle I’m gutted cus I ran out of time on my parking ticket.
Hopefully I’ll back soon for the UkVAC meet.
You should come.
Glad you enjoyed the video mate
Awesome, I'll look out for news on the Ukvac meet. :)
Strange one Alex, I watched this ages ago and left a comment but it's vanished lol maybe I never quite clicked on the send icon, sorry.
I remember saying I'd heard of this arcade, perhaps from my days when I frequented ukvac, name definitely rings a bell.
Your right, this reminds me also of some of the arcades I had bitd at cleethorpes which was the most local seaside place to me, big mix of cabs, just needs a couple of little yobbos going around trying to accidentally on purpose knock into the pushers and get a few free coins when we'd run out of ready cash of our own, oh wait, that was me hahaha
The top deck looks like an amazing space and will be great when it's sorted, great shop too, looking forward to seeing the next gamesroon tour, my favourite series you do 👍👍
No worries Craig
I’ve done that a few times myself.
I bet you were one of those kids who stick lolly pop sticks in the credit mech to get free goes weren’t you ? 😂
It’s a great arcade mate and well worth the visit next time your down.
Thanks for watching as always.
@@TheArcadeArchive no, I never knew about the lolly pop stick trick bitd, any chance of a video explaining how to do it best, I can try it out at arcade club 😂😂
Great video Alex, i love your gameroom tours, hoping to see more soon. I think the Galaga and Snapper cabs were made by Alca. I recognised the style as i own an Alca Bomber.
Yea you are correct Tim
I got that wrong but they do look similar.
Glad you enjoyed the video mate I’ve got more game room tours lined up 👍
Fab!
Great video as always Alex, I enjoy seeing all these cool arcade venues, very jealous I dont have anything like that near me, all we have is a chucky cheese with a few battered cabs !
That Pengo cab - another of my holy grail cabs, there use to be one advertised on ebay in the states for years and also wanted to pull the trigger on it !
great stuff, really enjoyed that
Hey Nick
Thought you would like this video.
Shame you don’t have anything near you though buddy.
Yea that pengo is quite rare so I knew straight away who it’s previous owner was.
But the star of the show for me was commando, that cab it’s just so dam cool and iconic.
Great game too.
Glad you enjoyed it mate.
@@TheArcadeArchive yeah the Commando dedicated was a belter, wasnt there one recently on UKvac ? or was that just a 1942? I am sure I have seen a dedicated Commando for sale recently, might be coinopwarehouse or something 😂
Great video alex this place looks really cool, long way away from me but if I am in that part of the world will check it out
Cheers Alex
Worth a visit for sure 😎👍
this is such a cool arcade tour dropped a like
Thanks dude 😎👍
Always love a gameroom tour mate, looks like he has a lot of space there, well up for a vac meet there. So rare to see Amiga games on sale in shops. Top stuff
Definitely be nice to have a meet somewhere different for a change.
I’m on it. 👍
Man i love retro games so i been there before
I need to pay a visit to Timewarp again. Haven't been since lockdown lifted.
That pengo, and Commando cabs were awesome. I believe they are the American cabs. I was trying to see if the coin slots had cents on them rather than pence.
I do like the Gauntlet legends cab. I'd love to see that in there. Hard to get hold of, and probably costs a small fortune. He use to have a leathal weapon pinball in there, didn't see that?. Hopefully we might see some pinball stuff upstairs.
Did you go to the Wells shop? The one in " street" near clarks village is good. I recently got hotline miami, too. Great video.
No pinballs unfortunately but that could all change soon.
The upstairs is going to be amazing when it’s finished.
Yea pengo and commando are both USA cabs.
The commando is absolutely amazing.
Would love that cab myself.
Oooo Star Wars cab, pity its not working. That Commando cab is really nice. Aliens Extermination that's a good game. Wish we had a shop like Insane Games in my area.
I thought you might like the star wars cab 😄
It’s bugger to keep going unfortunately.
Worth a visit though lee
@@TheArcadeArchive Theyre getting a bit old now aren't they..... Prob one that would benefit from running the game from a pi
Looks cool mate!
There was a few retro shops in that town.
Worth visit if your down this way mate
Looks great, I heard of this arcade before from UKVAC (probably when it was first getting started). I’ve never been but looks well worth a trip. Might try and go for the halloween night if there is a meet, P.S. thanks for the video, it made my Friday night a bit happier.
Glad you enjoyed it Tom
Definitely worth a visit if your over that way.
Great game room tour new sub here thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks buddy
Much appreciated 😎👍
Your welcome anytime 😀
Tekken 3 you love to see it
Sonic Blastman is what you was thinking of.
That’s the one 😀👍
Does better job surviving than any Tokyo arcades. Including Sega's, that are not Sega's anymore. ^__^;
Long live TimeWarp arcade !!!!!!!!!!!!
Yea we are quite good at these arcades today.
Seems to be many more popping up around the uk
So funny “I know the guy who owned this his names Aaron 😂😂😂😂
Loved this tour! I think it's great to see more arcades opening up.
There's some real unique cabs that I've never seen before.
What was the chop cycle sit down like? 😂
Mate I wish I had time to play the prop cycle but my bloody parking ticket ran out so I had to go 😩
Wish I had more time but I’ll be back.
Timewarp has been around for a long time actually.
Since I was 7 to atleast 10 years or so
@queenbean7071 Unfortunately, I missed out on a lot of arcades, but luckily, I can play quite a few titles on the switch. Hayling has got arcades, but it's got ticket machines, coin pushers, and stuff like that.
There are video arcades too, but only a small amount
@Matthew Keiran Poulter i see lol
Sorry then, I'm only 17 so for me what I'd call "new" is probably very different
Man, I wish I had a proper arcade near me. Emulation with almost 400 games, and an arcade stick is fun and all, but it's not the same as standing at an actual dedicated arcade machine with other people around watching you play, going against other player's high scores.
High scores are actually something I wish emulation was better at. Luckily my emulator can save high scores, but I wish there was a way to add friends on Retroarch, and have high scores carry across your entire friends list. I'm not great at these games, so I don't really want a full online leaderboard, I'd never get close to being on the high score list that way, but I'd happily go on Reddit and find some similarly-skilled players to add as friends to compete with.
I'd be curious what an arcade like this would be like entirely filled with custom MAME cabinets. High scores could be saved permanently instead of being reset when the machine is turned off. And you could have multiple games on one cabinet. Do kind of like a 1up situation and have sets of games per cab, like the different Galagas, Galaxian, and other similar games on one, all the Street Fighters on one, one just for beat 'em ups, one for CAVE shmups, one that's just a massive NEOGEO collection (like a better MVSX). Wouldn't be cheap, but probably still cheaper than buying real cabs.
Have you got Arcade side kick ?
It’s a really good App that most of the community upload there scores too.
@@TheArcadeArchive I do not, didn't even know it was a thing. Totally gonna go download it, thanks.
whats the song....its proper new retro wave
There is something like a multi-Hang-On-PCB??? Can you make a video about that, thats super interesting
Ok, I'm new to this channel so I'm confused..why is the title intro name different from the channel name? Sorry but I'm curious.
It’s because I’ve changed the name of the Channel since I opened up a museum of the same name Arcade archive
got no notification .. again 😪😪😪
No worries mate
Hope your well
