Vegeta: How Does Freez know about the dragon ball? Cui: Scouter was on the whole time? Vegeta that's Impossible my scour was off who's ? GOD DAMMIT NAPPA.
I remember the scene. Vegeta was actually the one that wore the scouter on because he was checking if Goku is near the battlefield and Nappa didn't put it on since the beginning of the battle with The Z fighters. It's Vegeta's Fault
Yes this was the last time any villains were actively looking for the dragon balls at least in DBZ. Though the dragon balls had their legacy. For instance Dr Gero didn't actively look for them but the Dragonballs did have a part in bringing Goku into conflict with the Red Ribbon army in the first place which would be the genesis of a grudge leading to Dr Geros schemes.
Unknown to Vegeta, this decision of his to go after Frieza instead of Goku actually work in Goku's favor now. Because Goku recovered from their last battle he too also got major Zenkai boost. Not only that but Bulma's dad built Goku a ship that took ages for him to get to Namek. The fact that the ship could serve as a training room while he's on his trip to Namek actually gave Goku the advantage of training himself to be 5x stronger than before buffing him up and ready by the time he landed on Namek. Once he's there it's like a walk in the park, every one there are like flies to him that he could easily splat away. Everyone except Frieza of course.

Given the relatively small power boost that Zarbon gained in his transformed state, Vegeta had no way of knowing that Frieza's second form had a power level roughly twice his first form's. @@kleptodahomie9065 I think Frieza could have been defeated in his first form , but allowing someone to transform is what dbz does, similar situation with Cell, who was very beatable before absorbing the androids. Scott McNeil and Ian James Corlett who voiced Piccolo Jr. and Son Goku would also voice in Mega-Man 90's cartoon as Mega-Man (Rock) which is funny because in the Japanese versions of the anime and games he's called Rockman and Proto-Man and Dr. Wily. Historian474 And just what exactly decides whether a character is cannon or not? As far as we know the movies are part of the franchise. Dabura definitely counts as he has appeared on Earth. Besides power levels varies by data-books and sources and none are written by Akira Toriyama himself.
Historian474 Just checked the V-Jump, Yakon's power level is stated to be 800,000,000 where as 100% Frieza's is only 120,000,000. uploads.dragonballencyclopedia.com/1/1e/LargerVersionJumpbattlepower.JPG
The movies are not canon. Some of the movies like the Lord Slug movie can't even fit into the timeline. Babidi stated that Yakon's power was 800 kili's. One kili equals 50,000 scouter units. This places Yakon's powerlevel at 40,000,000. dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Yakon
Okay, so for this scene, we have a needlessly changed script where the dub really needs to hammer home how strong Freeza is.
