The beauty of Yasama towers. They ARE your backline unit, and let you do a slow push with few actual military units.
Japanese trebs are so nice to play with. That loading/unloading speed makes them into bombard cannons speedwise
The best part about Japanese on long, high-resource games is that Treb Micro is unironically possible and legitimately terrifying.

tbf, Viper paid for most of Daniel's military with the 24k resources he slung him. Once Daniel had his military, Viper could just focus on taking out buildings, building towers, and cutting with onagers rather than fighting off units

I think a well established Japanese with this slow push style almost seems to guarantee a win in regards to not only being good in defense/offense, but also able to literally sugar daddy the rest of the team to victory.
Japanese's strongest unit is definitely their towers. Super high DPS, super tanky, super cost-effective and doesn't take pop.
Absolutely. The Mongol siege rams are probably one of the best units to push them back, but they met their kryptonite here in the camel archer (and later the shrivamsha rider.) Korean towers are arguably better since they not only out-range other towers, they can siege castles and neutralize bombard cannons except Turks.

Guys, How to set up the tree like that?
Use the "small trees" mod. It makes the trees smaller so that it is easier to see things. Also, use the grid mod to show the grid over the whole map.
