When I first saw Bedard highlights I thought he just had a crazy good shot, then looking a little closer is saw his IQ. Seriously, off the charts IQ. Can't wait to see him in the show.
I know it doesn’t look like it right now but I think in a few years (maybe 5), if he keeps practicing, he may be able to play in a professional league somewhere. Maybe even the AHL. Keep going for it kid!
I was destined to make the NHL until an unknown like Sidney Crosby was selected ahead of me and that changed the whole trajectory of the draft. It’s all just a popularity contest.
Nah i heard through the grapevine, that there is a unknown goalie called "The Berlin Wall" which caught the eye of the hockey scouts. The nhl prospect is currently training in some unknown location in the EU.
I’m old, and we played with wood (heh heh), and I can’t say enough how much the modern sticks have changed the game. You can do things you never could before.
Need to let all hockey player parents see this…so the reality of “your kid ain’t elite” can sink in and they can go to games and just sit quietly and watch.
For real, when i was at the rink last week, a parent was talking to a coach, saying the family thinks they could get exceptional status, and he’s playing 12u a in Florida it’s crazy
@@rnfdangles the insanity is real. I never made it big in life, but my kid is…then he’s gonna pay off my mortgage, get me a new car, and I can retire…because I helped him along the way. LOL
@@jdhrap You ain't kidding. My college bud didn't do well in college football. Now his kid is in high getting broken bones and recently a concussion. Yup we are going to NFL 🤞
Nothing wrong with trying to take it as far as you can, but yeah, some parents need to lighten up. Even at the top level, the game is supposed to be fun.
How many years is that then til he signs with say a mcdavid? ... and Marner? in some other city... returns home... and wins us a cup? Ill be patient... lol
There’s a lot of players like him that never get a look because they play at tier 2 and tier 3 and don’t have the connections or the $ to move on it’s sad to see kids with soooo much talent get politically taken out of the game 🤷🏽♂️
Don't compare him to any other hockey kid. He just broke a scoring record for Canada players that Eric Lindros held for a long time. Eric in the hall of fame !!
Happens in all sports everywhere. It’s not luck to be good, but you do need some good fortune to get the right kind of exposure and get on the right teams. It is what it is. Not saying I’m pro caliber, but I went through it in my playing days. Parents didn’t have the money or connections to get me on the right elite teams in the offseason, plus they didn’t party and fraternize with coaches and other parents. I don’t know if that’s just hockey, but that kind of thing is prevalent. Kids get shut out if their parents aren’t in the right crowd. It’s a weird sport.
It’s very true, but if you’re good enough those things won’t matter! Everyone hated my dad, he was loud and opinionated. He knew what he was talking about, but the other parents and coaches didn’t like him. My brother was good, but not good enough, and he would always get cut from the AA rep teams. I was never cut, because I was “very” good. Too good to cut. If I wasn’t as good as I was I’d be in the same boat. I feel bad for my brother looking back because it wasn’t like he was much worse than me, but being two years older he wasn’t a “top” player in his age group so it was easier to cut him…. We both played AAA Team Okanagan super series. I was ranked 2nd in BC for my birth year and played Team BC super series. But in the end, it got me nowhere because I lost any drive I had. Nothing to do with politics at that point!
100% agree, “too small” doesn’t exist now like it used to. Being small just means a harder path, and a different play style, but look at the league, Hughes is best in points he’s “smaller” now its the bedard show. Being too small doesn’t change a thing

I thought that too. IQ was so off the charts at World Juniors… was like peewee hockey for him
He’s gonna be making and breaking records, his rookie season and beyond but especially this year with the Blackhawks😊😊❤❤
dude is a beast & jacked as hell. Looking forward to him playing for Canada at this spring's World Men's Hockey Championship.
Future Blackhawk
Love how well this comment aged.
@@TheFamousUnderground me too!

What are next weeks powerball numbers?
My god....the flex he puts on that stick....it's like Kessel and McDavid had a son that just rips snappers !!!
Its interesting that he's literally both feet off the ice allowing his whole body weight to come down into the stick. Helps he uses a 65 flex too!
he uses 71 flex i think a tiny bit higher, but its crazy to see his shot mechanics
I know it doesn’t look like it right now but I think in a few years (maybe 5), if he keeps practicing, he may be able to play in a professional league somewhere. Maybe even the AHL. Keep going for it kid!
He has too pick up the pace though, he's behind the rest of his league 😂😂

LOL
I know these comments were in three months ago, but the Chicago Blackhawks picked him as the #1 draft pick for 2023
Or you mean nhl because hes in the NHL now
That release will haunt NHL goalies. Canucks need to a miracle to get him, but they do occasionally happen.
get him to ducks, Zegras, Mctavish, Bedard then drysdale, and zellenger
Ducks or blue jackets

@@misternobodysixtynine now, that is funny.
Awesome release defiantly but best release is ovechkin Greatest-goal scorer
He is going to be a mixture of Gretzky and Marchand
BC home-grown finest.
Bomben Spieler er wird mein neuer Abräumer! Greetings from Germany👍😉
I’ve been trying the toe drag release lately and ngl when everything connects the puck just flies off my stick
Lowky same, and since doing it I’ve scored so much more

1st overall pick ? what do you think ? 🤔 😶
For sure
Every kid will be taught to shoot like this in 5-10 years
But will they have the drive to work at it and IQ to execute.

I dunno. Few years in Europe and maybe a few in the AHL and he could get to the show
Wow is that music annoying!
You know you can just turn off the volume
Whats the name of it
Hope to see Bedard in Canucks uniform in 3 years cuz the Nucks suddenly one of the best teams recently 😂
GO HAWKS 😬👍
Won’t happen the Blackhawks will secure him for a long time 😁😁

End up in a team that's going nowhere where his talent will go to waste
He’s overrated he’s too small for the nhl nowadays he will get crushed just wait and see.
What he lacks in size, he makes up for with speed and his shots.
