I'm truelly happy Blue&Grey was your first BTS song. They put so much emotion into their voices for it,I'm pretty sure we were all crying. Especially knowing that V was the one who wrote the song...already know that it will be one of my fav three for ages. I hope you looked at the lyrics at some point. Their lyricism is incredible. This particular song was written by Taehyung (stage name V), the deeper voice that started and ended the song. He wrote it at a time in which he was struggling with burnout and feeling depressed and it has some incredibly real, relatable lyrics. That have a lot of different music styles and genres so you won't get a sense of their music with one or two songs. :) Even on this album alone, BE, every song is really, really different.
I love their live performance of "crystal snow". I think "Your eyes tell" don't get enough love. I remember being blown away by their voices when it first came out.💜
You should listen to their NPR Tiny Desk performance. It’s a live performance with 3 of their songs, and they’re just sitting and vibing. Not a typical performance for them, but still amazing, and you can really see their chemistry.

To see another side of BTS and their hip-hop roots combined with their musical maturity, I recommend Dis-ease, also off their latest album! Blue and Grey and Dis-ease are my two favorite songs from the album. Blue and grey was immediately my favorite with it's sorrowful, sweet and beautiful sound while Dis-ease, not my favorite genre to start, surprised me. It's funky, takes you on a roller-coaster and finishes with a party!

He wrote this at a time when he experienced burnout and started questioning himself. When the other 6 members heard this song they all agreed to add it to their new album 'BE'. The lyrics are incredibly sad but are so very relatable which is why you feel emotional. I think anyone who listened to Blue and Grey cried a lot because it especially relates to pandemic life and being in quarantine, in fact the entire BE album is based on the covid situation. Sonically, Bts' songs are already lovely. But their lyricism might take that loveliness to the next level. Their songs are seriously lyrical masterpieces & the production is top notch. Their discography is also very vast & diverse.
BTS really is the whole package! This song is more downbeat than most of their stuff (although they do have other beautiful ballads and slower songs, such as Spring Day, which is one of the longest-charting songs on the Korean charts in their history.) Their latest album, BE, is a more personal one that they had a much bigger hand than usual in all steps of the album process. They are always involved in songwriting and music production, but because their tour was canceled due to COVID, they took a much bigger hand in things. The songs are much more personal, like Blue & Grey. They have a hugely diverse discography, touching on genres from neo-jazz to EDM, hip-hop, and more. As a singer yourself, I think you'd appreciate the song Black Swan. There is a version of the video with the band, and then another one with an orchestral score and a dance company performing. It's really beautiful. They have four vocalists and three rappers, so there are songs with both, then songs just with the vocal line and just with the rap line. PLUS they are amazing performers, both on video and (ESPECIALLY) live onstage -- they can dance too! I just really adore their music. And that's not even getting into their personalities and their bond with the fandom. That's a whole other universe that we all kind of fell into. I hope you enjoy more of their music! Blue&Grey is my favorite song from the new album! Member V (he’s the baritone that opens and ends the song) created it when he was going through burnout and depression. BTS often write songs about mental health awareness. Love how it’s so relatable and removing the stigma around depression. The use of Grey rhino metaphor which refers to a threat that is obviously coming at you(in this case burnout and depression), but you don't take action about. It’s used often to describe catastrophes hand in hand (ironically) with the term ‘black swan’ (which is also the title of another BTS song) Black swan theory describes an event that comes as a surprise, has a major effect, and is often wrongly rationalized after the fact. If you want to hear more of the vocal line of BTS I recommend “The Truth Untold” and “House of Cards” live performance with English subtitles. Also “Zero O’clock” lyric video. If you want to hear all members I recommend “Fake Love”, “On Kinetic Manifesto Film, “Black Swan” MV’s. Each members have their own solos too and some have released solo mixtapes. if you had picked a lyric video there is a fair chance you might have teared up. Based on your reaction I would recommend Crystal Snow sung live in Japan live at the 4th Muster. It is absolutely gorgeous, lets you associate faces as you hear their voices live and there happens to be a video of it with English lyrics.

BTS really is the whole package! This song is more downbeat than most of their stuff (although they do have other beautiful ballads and slower songs, such as Spring Day, which is one of the longest-charting songs on the Korean charts in their history.) Their latest album, BE, is a more personal one that they had a much bigger hand than usual in all steps of the album process. They are always involved in songwriting and music production, but because their tour was canceled due to COVID, they took a much bigger hand in things. The songs are much more personal, like Blue & Grey.
They have a hugely diverse discography, touching on genres from neo-jazz to EDM, hip-hop, and more. As a singer yourself, I think you'd appreciate the song Black Swan. There is a version of the video with the band, and then another one with an orchestral score and a dance company performing. It's really beautiful.
They have four vocalists and three rappers, so there are songs with both, then songs just with the vocal line and just with the rap line. PLUS they are amazing performers, both on video and (ESPECIALLY) live onstage -- they can dance too! I just really adore their music. And that's not even getting into their personalities and their bond with the fandom. That's a whole other universe that we all kind of fell into. I hope you enjoy more of their music! Blue&Grey is my favorite song from the new album! Member V (he’s the baritone that opens and ends the song) created it when he was going through burnout and depression. BTS often write songs about mental health awareness. Love how it’s so relatable and removing the stigma around depression. The use of Grey rhino metaphor which refers to a threat that is obviously coming at you(in this case burnout and depression), but you don't take action about. It’s used often to describe catastrophes hand in hand (ironically) with the term ‘black swan’ (which is also the title of another BTS song) Black swan theory describes an event that comes as a surprise, has a major effect, and is often wrongly rationalized after the fact. If you want to hear more of the vocal line of BTS I recommend “The Truth Untold” and “House of Cards” live performance with English subtitles. Also “Zero O’clock” lyric video. If you want to hear all members I recommend “Fake Love”, “On Kinetic Manifesto Film, “Black Swan” MV’s. Each members have their own solos too and some have released solo mixtapes. Their dancing and performances are on another level as well. BTS is the whole package!

Blue and grey is the main colors for showing depression in psychology and even grey rehinosores is mentioned in the song.A grey rhino is a highly probable, high impact yet neglected threat.Grey rhinos are not random surprises, but occur after a series of warnings and visible evidence,wich again you can see the same definition being used in the lyrics.

if you had picked a lyric video there is a fair chance you might have teared up. Based on your reaction I would recommend Crystal Snow sung live in Japan live at the 4th Muster. It is absolutely gorgeous, lets you associate faces as you hear their voices live and there happens to be a video of it with English lyrics.

Welcome to your new favorite obsession! There are 4 vocalists (Jimin, Jungkook, Jin, V aka Taehyung) & 3 rappers (Suga aka Yoongi, Jhope aka Hobi, & RM aka Namjoon). They really are the total package! Their vocals are impeccable, songs are meaningful, lyrics are astounding, performances are mind blowing, & they are the nicest, humblest, most charismatic human beings on the planet! You are about to get flooded with song recommendations but i have two pieces of advice before you dive in. Even if you do it off camera 1) check out their lyrics either through ccs/subtitles on their official music videos or through the ARMY translators art doolset & 2) get to know them either by watching This is BTS by XCeleste or The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: A Story of BTS by The Asian Theory. Next i think u should start with their newest album BE (Blue & Grey is a B side from that album) or watch their live vocals on tiny desk. I'm still trying to get over Blue and Grey and it's just imposible. One of my favorites BTS songs, you can feel the emotion in their voices and the lyrics hit me SO HARD. Honestly, it's just normal to be touched by it. Such a beautiful song
