I have the 2024 Pro 58kw, Had it since February and it's on software version 3.5. Be wary of buying one with software version lower than 3.2 as this apparently adds over the air update ability and battery management which can detect some issues that require VW to swap your battery module or something. Issues encountered - wireless car play dropping from time to time, theme colours changing to default, Both fixed by locking the car and leaving it for a short while to reboot, The one thing most users complain about is having to sign in on the big screen by pressing OK before you set off. No way to disable this for a one driver car. It's the best car I've every owned, My first EV too.
Great review! Im looking forward to seeing you build up some data with your tests. One thing that many people are looking for in car reviews is the start up process, is it keyless, how easy is it to disable warnings, connecting to phone/carplay/android auto? Keep up the good work!
Hello 👋 Thanks for the review. All in all, it hasn't change drastically but some welcomed improvements. But, and I'm sorry for VW, for this price tag I would personally better go for MG 4 or Tesla Model 3 or Y (even if I'm not a fan of the brand) , even the Smart are accessible, especially the #3 🙂
I agree that the price is a bad match. With cars like Volvo EX30 or Tesla Y/3, you are getting a better bang for your money. I'm still not a big fan of MG4 as in some European countries you won't find a single service center. EDIT: VW car been on the market for the four years now and they are still fighting to get basic functionality right.
We are looking to buy an EV probably in early spring. If the ID3 or ID4 do not come down in price then we will test drive them but will probably go for a better value alternative, maybe MG4 or MG5.
I've started to see some heavily discounted prices here in the UK of unsold, brand new, old shape ID3s. I know that's not comparing apples with apples of the prices of this car you are reviewing - but it's very tempting nonetheless. £23,000 is the cheapest I've seen - roughly 26,800 Euros
That's really cheap! For an unused car? I own the "older" version and the changes in the new facelift is not big enough I you can get an pre facelift 2023 cheap
@@ItsOnlyElectric Yes - unused, delivery mileage - the one I was looking at had 19 miles travelled! I haven't asked if it's 'pre registered' - where the dealer registers it themselves as the first 'owner' to get their sales figures up. But even if that is the case it's a massive saving
👍A very interesting test !

Thanks for your great insight. 🙏 Glad you enjoy your ID3
The lease deals on these in the U.K. are very good.
Facelifting this car before they built ID.7 and the new hardware is still beoynd me.
Would love an ID.7 with the new hardware.
This was more of a smaller update. New updates on the way I think..

Good points. Will consider for upcoming tests.
19" wheels are over the top imo

Hi! Yes, agree. The competition is tougher these days and as you say the #1 ot rcthe MG4 makes more sence.

Nice. I would go for the MG4, the mg5 is built on an older platform but still a price worthy car

I’m picking up a new pre-registered ID.3 Pro S launch edition 4 77kwh this weekend for £31,833, £15.5k saving on list price.
Borde finnas en "GTI " på 400hk ish. Och lite tuffare med såklart.

Jag hade ju iof inte köpt en folkvagn endå. Men iaf. 🤪
Ska komma en golf gti variant som framtida elbil. Den låter spännande.
The acceleration test will be made at 20% or 30% battery, to compare Loss of benefits.
Yes and in that case it will go slower.

Another great review! Your consumption test is very helpful. Not very impressed with this ID3, especially for the price.
Glad you find them useful. 👍Yes prove needs to be better
The motor went to the moon and back?🤣 On what vehicle I wonder?
Hu? 😂
Just ask your dealer for a better price. Or use an internet engine. This was always the case with dealer prices. Have you all forgotten?? The p
