Yea because people only follow the masses and don't see the superior genius and tech of samsung though I do comend that apples noise cancelation is great there is never a time where I want that type noise cancelation in public and when at home just use headphones
Plus has absolutely zero noise cancellation, it has isolation by physically plugging the ear canal. The Buds Live has The technology called noise canceling, where it uses microphones to hear noises and also emit the opposite wave form of that noise. When both of those waves hit your ear, they cancel each other out so you ear perceives neither of those waves. One block with a barrier, one cancels with noise cancellation
I must say I've owned both and they both are excellent in their own right. For me I have to give it to the Buds + it just seems more functional because of the seal in ear. Kudos to Samsung for bring it with the wireless buds.
Love my live beans. They feel amazing. Sound pretty damn good. Could be a hair louder. Seemes louder before recent update. Haven't got to try buds plus though. Luckily got them for 20 with the Samsung pre-order bonus. Thanks Samsung.
So when he mentioned the first time that the buds+ has ANC, I was like oh no, the comments are gonna eat him alive, but I carried on watching maybe he just misspoke?, but then he said it again, and again, and again.
@@Nala_1230 I understood him very well, my issue isn't understanding, my issue is giving off the wrong information for people that don't know any better. Don't say something has ANC when it doesn't, simple. Regardless of how well it seals off sounds due to its design. You not gonna sell someone a car that doesn't have a Turbo, and tell them it has a Turbo cause its fast like a car with a Turbo.
I love my black mystic Senzu Beans. Make sure you use the long-press volume up feature to get them sounding good so you can control your phone's volume for the Live beans. Then change the long press for the active noise canceling to toggle it when out and about with them.
I read reviews that they don't hold in sound. I didn't experience that problem. I tested a pair of Galaxy Buds Live few weeks ago and passed on buying them because the volume was extremely low compared to some jlabs I was using. Yesterday I noticed that the problem was with my phone not the earbuds. I connected a Bluetooth speaker to a different phone and noticed it was much louder than on my phone. So I had to download a volume booster app and it solved the low volume issue. I went and bought the Lives this morning and am thoroughly satisfied with everything about them. Only thing I don't like is how you can't mix the long touch controls. Using volume will automatically set volume to the other. I was trying to mix two different settings but they won't let you. But I have a workaround. The widget lets me turn noise cancellation on and I can use voice control for my assistant. I wanted to use long touch for assistant and volume down. So now I can keep volume on the buds use widget for noise cancellation and say ok Google for assistant. Not quite perfect but no major issue. They are extremely comfortable. The jlabs start digging in you after awhile. The round contours on these won't allow them to dig into your cartilage like most other buds. On the back side of the jlabs I would have to lift them up so they're not resting directly on the ear after so long of wearing them. Not major pain but noticeable and something I could do without. And the buds start losing grip once you get sweaty and a little wax starts creeping down. Makes them easier to slip out. These beans DO NOT MOVE no matter how sweaty you get. They don't rely on anything sticking in your ear canal for support. They naturally fit and comfortably rest in the contours of anyone's ear. As for the sound it is awesome. The jlabs would get inconsistent sound with songs with lots of sounds or heavy bass. These things sound amazing no matter what I throw at it. And the sound is much more crisp and clean than the jlabs. I wore them walking down the street and was not bothered by any sound leaking in. I was worried about this after reading several reviews so I guess my ears are the perfect fit for these things. Which is great because I've always had issues with keeping buds in my ears. These new in ear buds are much butter staying in place but as I said before getting sweaty can make them easier to slip out. But these beans otoh do not budge no matter how much you shake or how sweaty you get. The jlabs also had terrible touch response. The touch response on these is perfect for all purposes of intent.
Gear icons 2018, buds, buds + 1. Physically very secure. 2. Some inner ear discomfort. 3. Possibly walk in front of a bus, car, get robbed, or anything else that may happen from lack of being able to hear. Buds Live 1. Physically not as secure, may fall out during exercise. 2. Generally not as much ear discomfort. 3. Being able to hear what is going on around you much easier without listening through a active microphone (ambient sound). So basically buy the buds + if you want ear plug style noise cancellation and a very secure earbud for exercising. Buy the buds live if you want comfort and ability to naturally hear your environment.
I have them both. Bought the buds + when they came out and just received the beans for free with samsung credit. I'd say for me, they serve different purposes. Beans I use around the house and while I'm at my desk working. The buds +, while I work out or doing yard work - basically anything with more activity.

I don't own a pair of the Buds + but I can say the Buds Live sound amazing. I owned the Airpods Pro and the sound quality was nothing compared to my Buds Live. They look awesome and feel super comfortable. No pain whatsoever. I can literally have them in my ears all day and wouldn't feel any discomfort. As far as noise cancelation, they're not the best when it comes to canceling out nearby sounds but when you have music playing, it's going to do a great job removing sounds from a pretty good distance. The bass you get is incredible too just as if they did have silicone tips that went into your ears. Eventually I'm going to pick up the Buds Pro but I'm waiting for that price to drop based on the okay performance I've been hearing from reviews.
In my opinion one of the most amazing and useful functions on the galaxy buds plus in comparison to all of the other earbuds brands is “double tap” on the edge of the buds plus to increase or decrease volume. You can even double tap on the back of your ear to do so and this is a unique function that I use it very often.
0:39 You say: buying the buds+ for the "active" noise cancellation. but the buds does not have "active" noise cancellation. It has "passive" noise cancellation
Good thing I bought the buds+ instead of live since I'm doing online yoga class via zoom. From the video, if you use live on a quiet environment or room, there is an echo on the voice since it has 3 microphones unlike with + wherein your voice is sealed and clearer for the listeners/audience

Buds+ has no ANC, man. If you watched the launch, actually buds live is the first Samsung wireless headphone with ANC. Also most reviewers find the sound quality is better with the buds+. Man.
You’re right - I did a poor job explaining the noise cancellation unfortunately. The Buds Live have an ANC toggle, but the effect is minimal at best. The “noise cancelling” offered by the Buds+ is due to the deep fit and sealed off ear canal. Put simply, the outside world is blocked off far more using the Buds+ vs the Buds Live, even with the new Buds Live ANC toggle. It’s simply not even close. As far as sound quality, I personally do find the Live sound better, but it’s just an opinion and somewhat subjective 👍
If you watched and listen to all the reviews you would know that the ANC in the buds live is not the ANC that we are expecting. They are no where near as good as the airpods pro and the Sony wireless buds because they are ANC for OPEN TYPE

Buds live depend greatly on the shape of your ear. If you hate earpods or airpods because they hurt your ear than beans may do the same if you wear them incorrectly. After a few reviews I think the Buds + are gonna be it for me. I work in a Prosthetic shop. It's loud, we have vacuum fixtures and air tools, hammers and such all day. Plus we have a speakers set up playing music I'm usually not into. Lots of different types of people means lots of different music I'm usually happy to drown out. I think the sealed fit, noise cancelation and better battery than my 2 year old Samsung buds have (4 hours tops) are going to be what I need. I mostly listen to pod casts anyway so music dynamics are less important. I listen to podcasts 8 to 10 hrs per day, 5 to 6 days a week. I have to alternate left and right buds every 4 or so hours to keep listening all day. If I could have both in ALL DAY that would be awesome! The passive setting would still allow me to hear external noise and my podcasts and wouldn't need to switch them out. For someone like me the Buds plus seem like the best option. Plus the sound bleed out to people around me isn't great when it comes to the Beans, I'm not interested in letting others hear what I'm listening to. I've heard that's an issue.

they unfortunately do not despite what this dude said multiple times in this video. although i will say i have the original galaxy buds (same exact design aside from finish, different internals) have really good passive noise cancellation. if you use the right size eartips for your ear, you can get a pretty good seal that blocks off most sound, probably better than the buds Live. But I was trying to communicate how it's probably just an issue with only a few earbuds. Of course not all of them have it I'm sorry. I'm not that good at communicating stuff in english since it's not my mother tongue.
I really hope the Buds Live will be a pleasant experience without any issues on my version then
@@olewinter4560 no harm done, all good, bro. Lets hope my and your buds live will have no issues at all 💯
I got the galaxy buds when they came out, people thought I had hearing aids before they got popular lol
Yea because people only follow the masses and don't see the superior genius and tech of samsung though I do comend that apples noise cancelation is great there is never a time where I want that type noise cancelation in public and when at home just use headphones
HAHAHAHAH same😂
I had a recruiter ask that
Hell i remember I had the one go's around you're neck people thought i was talking to myself
Still better than toothbrushes.
Kudos to Samsung for bring it with the wireless buds.
may i kindly know which is better for phone calls.
The buds+ have no active noise canceling. Pls fix or put in the description.
Love my live beans. They feel amazing. Sound pretty damn good. Could be a hair louder. Seemes louder before recent update. Haven't got to try buds plus though. Luckily got them for 20 with the Samsung pre-order bonus. Thanks Samsung.
The buds plus are actually pretty good. If you want sound quality, the buds plus are really good! There's 2 drivers
So when he mentioned the first time that the buds+ has ANC, I was like oh no, the comments are gonna eat him alive, but I carried on watching maybe he just misspoke?, but then he said it again, and again, and again.
yeah it seems he just doesnt 100% know what hes talking about at all but other than that annoyance the review is okay and fairly informative
This is proven to not trust youtubers.
Finally one review that really explains the differences and pros and cons of each one. Thanks!
I love my black mystic Senzu Beans. Make sure you use the long-press volume up feature to get them sounding good so you can control your phone's volume for the Live beans. Then change the long press for the active noise canceling to toggle it when out and about with them.
I just wish they had a matte option, the shininess of the Buds Live looks really cheap/tacky imo
Exact Same thing I was thinking
Personally, I might stick with my buds+ because of dual drivers. Audio is literally the best
wait the buds+ don't have noise cancellation tho?!
They are sealed

Gear icons 2018, buds, buds +
1. Physically very secure.
2. Some inner ear discomfort.
3. Possibly walk in front of a bus, car, get robbed, or anything else that may happen from lack of being able to hear.
Buds Live
Why are they better for activity? They don't fall out during vigorous exercise?
@@ksuxaksks wow - just realized I had this backwards 🙃. I updated my comment to reflect reality

The Buds+ are overall way better imho, I never felt like I needed ANC with my buds+
Right I want to be aware of my surroundings. Most of the time I only have 1 bud in depending on which way I face ex. If there is a wall to my left and I'm sitting have the left one in for safety might sound paranoid but its how I roll
@@ArkyBarky141 then you turn transparency mode on the buds+
@@TextuRePro i could do that yes but then the music sounds awful that is why I also think its useful unless in phone call so I'm not yelling
@@TextuRePro also that defeats the purpose of my point against ANC
@@ArkyBarky141 it sounds like the live are perfect for you if you want to hear stuff
@donutdoode69 Yes they can, watch this video, it shows you about settings, including double tap volume. ruclips.net/video/ZLAL7m7blrE/видео.html
Buds live have ANC only, whereas the Buds+ have PNC only.
Have a pair of Buds Plus and I love them, just awesome sound & very good noise canceling. Would like to try the Buds Live but already have the Buds+. Great for gaming, music, & movies.
Does the buds live have bad sound leakage because I will be exerciseing in them and I need loud music
@@brandonbernard6751 it has some sort of noise cancelation plus the volume is high you won't hear anything.
@@brandonbernard6751 Why are you getting so pissed off at him, most of the reviewers I've watched think they sound good but not as good as the Buds+.
The lives are designed to block out lower end frequencies but keep higher end ones as well.
@@Gloomlight I'm not mad I'm just stating that all reviews about the buds live ANC isn't the same as say on airpods pro or the Sony headphones. I am not disagreeing that they sound bad the guy that started this tab of posts is saying the buds live have ANC but I'm stating it's not the ANC the general public is used to
I wore my Buds+ during a 2 hour Chinook flight! Not one time was the sound of the Aft Transmission too loud. And they don't even have ANC! How's that for keeping out harmful sound?!?! I had music on real low.
Am i the only one who was expecting true immersive anc on the buds live but was disappointed when they announced what it actually is?
Have the buds live and dont really like them. They dont feel comfortable and the sound of the entire world passes right through. Really like the old buds way better. Ill give them two more weeks before I return them.
Great review. I have the bts edition buds+. I feel like both have a place depending on what you use them for. I have small ears so I don't know how the beanz would fit. But I do prefer the phone call quality on them.
You and kevin breeze are so underrated
I would like to know when Samsung is going to bring back the on-board storage. I will be sticking with my Icon-X 2018 until i can find an upgraded pair of ear buds with on-board storage.
Why though I see no plausible reason for anyone to want this unless you don't have a phone? Which doesn't make sense
@@ArkyBarky141 I used to use this feature all the time in the gym (when I was ALLOWED to go to the gym) so I didn't have to carry or get distracted by my phone. Grats for the review.
Lives are amazing. I just purchased and love them.❤
Bud live have provided a pair of wingtips, if you think your ear are bigger, you can change the bigger one to make sure it won't loose from your ear.
All I wanna know is if the Buds Live leak sound when you have them on high volume?? I don’t really like when people can hear what I’m listening lol
Yes they do
@@kimashby462 Well shit... Thanks tho
Most leak somewhat i don't think the live leak as much so you should be fine.
Not much sound leak. But I warn you to not go with buds live. I upgraded from buds plus and I regret now. It fits well, you don't even feel its in your ear. Also, the mic is better than buds plus. But I dont like the sound quality and no bass in it. Honestly the noice cancelation doesn't work at all, Thats the main reason I'm going to return it.
@@abhi9090 I feel the same way. I lost my buds+ and recently bought the buds live without my Note 20 credit. I enjoy them. They're nice and different for a change, but they aren't better than buds+. I just used my credit to buy another blue pair cause of isolation, sound quality, and battery life make buds+ better for me.
I like buds live way better. They stayed in my ear while running and even shaking my ear didn't knock them off. I dropped the buds + way too many times.
Maybe you are just using the wrong size tips and seal lol. Buds+ supposed to be more secure cuz it sits way deeper in your ear.
@@roslolian11 nope tried all the tips. I am not using these wireless for noise canceling i have a dedicated over the ear for those. Wish they add hearing aid for them. Like enhanced the people's voices over ambient sounds
@@Harren20 The tips and fins arent just for noise canceling they are supposed to give you a tighter fit and seal to prevent it from falling. I dunno how you find Buds+ with the ability to change tips and seal looser than the 1 size fits all Buds live it doesnt make any sense cuz the Buds+ is jammed inside your ear canal whereas the Live just rests outside the hole of your ear.
I dunno about the Live but the Buds+ does have that feature that enhances people voices over ambient sound its in the settings.
Great in-depth review and comparison! Thanks a lot!
Buds live depend greatly on the shape of your ear. If you hate earpods or airpods because they hurt your ear than beans may do the same if you wear them incorrectly. For the first couple of days they feel weirdly loose and almost as if they'd fall out, but they most likely won't and are actually really hard to shake out. I decided to not keep mines and am rocking the buds+. My brother kept the beans since he's never had headphones.
I just lost one of my first generation of buds. I'm considering upgrading to buds plus or just going with the new buds live.
what kind are better for rolling joints? wheres the galaxy dabs?
I just bought the buds live not knowing they are the upgrade from the buds ➕ 💯
I wish that you would have talked about sound leakage. I need to know whether people sitting nearby would be able to hear any of my music.
That’s the most important issue for me
Cheers that’s made my mind up Apple AirPods Pro for me can’t stand music leakage
@@bruh-uy3vn People should know that some sealing earbuds (and closed over-the-ear headphones) can have sound leakage due to small bass/vent ports as well. Thanks for the review.

Sorry i hv some questions, I’m thinking about buying my first earbuds.
The app that we install to control the bud, is it free of charge ?!
Would the buds plus work with an iPhone xr ?and other devices ? Or some features won’t work?
My beans does cancel a lot of noise or at least enough for me
You can get the sleeves from Samsung. Better sound 💯
Buds Live are my first bluetooth earphones, and it's semi-free since it's a preorder gift for the 20 Ultra.

Buds+ have no noise cancellation so the battery life is just 11 hours on the buds and 22 including the case.

@@roanjorna4698 Yes, but no active noise cancellation. I have these earbuds.
@@SolarDollar251 I also have them. I'm just saying that Ambient sound mode drains the battery just as much as the active noice cancellation
Maybe he was talking about noise isolation.
@@j.d6009 turning on ambient sound actually drains quite a bit of battery. I have the original buds and battery life was just about 3hrs having ambient sound constantly on. Turning it off gave me 5-6hrs of play time.
If Galaxy buds + have a real anc (like air pods or Sony buds) that would be phenomenal.
fuck anc. lmao
they unfortunately do not despite what this dude said multiple times in this video. although i will say i have the original galaxy buds (same exact design aside from finish, different internals) have really good passive noise cancellation. if you use the right size eartips for your ear, you can get a pretty good seal that blocks off most sound, probably better than the buds Live. I think the buds Lives ANC is more about immersion than isolation. so it immerses you in the music like a concert (hence the title buds "live") without totally isolating you, although a lot of people are looking for more isolation. kinda wish i could try them out for myself to see which i truly prefer though
Which one is better for listening film with smart tv?
I don't know but there's something in your voice that makes me excited everytime. Haha. Love and support from Manila. 😘
Haha thanks so much! 🙌🏻
#HeToo...
Can we use either of the buds independently? or is it master/slace system?
I like the buds+. While they do not have noise canceling it does block more sound than the live due to being sealed.
And with the buds+ you are not blasting your audio to everyone around you. The ambient noise leak is ridiculous with the open channel of the live.
