Okay guys I see a lot of comments questioning this helmet so let me get a couple things clear. 1. This helmet is not designed for people going with motorcycle speeds so don’t expect Snell, DOT, ECE or others from it. It has NTA and usual bicycle rating which is sufficient for those lower speeds. The lack of certification for the chinpiece is still a down side but they’re working on it. 2. It is certified for Ebikes with speeds up to 45 km/h. It’s a certification for safety so it has to live up to it! It is tested and verified! 3. Yes the chin piece is low and not like in DH helmets and I mention it in the video. You gain visibility and lightness but detract from biggest possible safety on a frontal impact. 4. The price of the helmet starts at 180 Euro and with the visor is about 210 Euro, not 300. Can you get cheaper helmets? Sure! Can you get safer helmets for the same price? Yes! However there is simply no competition in the niche that The Beam is in. You don’t always need the most hardcore helmet for commuting there and back to work with average speeds of 30 km/h! Additionally there are also sales when the helmet is cheaper. For sure they can work on the price but it’s also an economy of scale, manufacturing etc etc TL;DR The target of this helmet are commuters and chill riders, not hardcore performance enthusiasts. Don’t treat this helmet as a high speed off road lid but a comfortable, innovative new type of helmet used for casual rides and commuting below 40 km/h. It has good quality, needs some improvements in the padding and it’s very comfortable. As said this is a conclusion after testing over 70 moto and bicycle lids! I am enjoying using it and it’s certainly safer than my half shell Sena helmets. I enjoy a discussion on this subject but keep it polite and on subject.

As a lifelong cyclist turned e-biker, this is my new favorite helmet. I get all the EUC people crying foul here, but that's not the target audience; coming from using normal bicycle helmets, this is a massive improvement with the visor and jaw protector, and as someone who has crashed normal and ebikes multiple times, I'll be happy to have the extra protection. Obviously, if you're going seriously fast and on something where you might faceplant (EUC, maybe even a Like scooter), there are better options, but I think this is great for daily cycling commuters who are already wearing normal bicycle helmets, as it's just an improvement on all fronts.
Well, shit. I didn't know that you need such a protection when going over 25 km/h. I ride a lot on my road bike, with average speed more over 25, solo or participating in competition. Having been run over by a car who didn't see me on a roundabout on my EUC at a fairly low speed, and having my jaws broken (amongst other parts of my body) and six stitches on my chin, admittedly while wearing a motorcross helmet bought on AliExpress, I personally would NOT wear something like this. Again, I admit that they were both on sale... but still.
I got 1-2 min into the video and had to go read all the comments 😂😂😂 comon Wrongway... the people are obviously upset with your more recent content for a reason. I dont like the personal blows to your style or whatever, but i think its a byproduct of their letdown, especially with products like this.
Oooh, Mr. Wrong Way lives up to his name….Is anyone else hearing the apprehension? If you sell nonsense like this, go all Rachel Rae…Go all in. But in all honesty, it looks like a $35 helmet. $300 is a no-go. I just bought a DOT certified motocross helmet for $50, a DOT/ece motorcycle modular full face helmet for $60. I don’t see a universe where $300 can be justified.
I think it was designed by a VFX artist. After crowdfunding closed on Kickstarter, the helmet needed multiple iterations for the chin bar and visor hinge. The hinge bolt looks nothing like the original design.
Could you make a video comparing the best helmets? For different occasions, for higher speeds or lower speeds, which have the easiest locking mechanism, best values, weight class,… seems like more than enough material to make a big video, like comparing EUC’s themselves?
Hey dude, love your videos. Can you send me the link to the one ride yellow helmet that you ate showing in this video? I really like the shape of it. I think I may buy it. Thanks.
Glad to finally see this helmet reviewed. I pre-ordered and then cancelled this helmet last year. I was concerned about the opening in the front and the possibility of hitting my face. Ugly as it may be I would like to keep it intact. I did like the opening for the ears because I wear an ear bud on one side when I ride. Seems like that would make it easy to put on or adjust without removing your helmet.
The Beam Virgo looks looks the beginnings of a dedicated EUC helmet. If they added in the suggestions by Adam, I think it would be amazing helmet. I'd buy one.
20:20 - Good to know, in France, helmets made for bikes aren't allowed to have speakers. It's forbidden to ride with speakers on ears as it could reduce audition to incoming dangers. And the rule is stupid enough to forbid even bone conduction speakers… Only helmets made for motorcycle are allowed to have them.
The design just doesn't seem to be there yet. If they're asking over $300 usd, that's up there with other premium products like the Bell Super Air / DH Spherical helmets... it's just hard to justify given the helmet's current flaws. The Bell helmets look more robust and like they'd do a better job of protecting you. They do have the most flexibility, albeit you do need to do more work to get that flexibility. Goggles or sunglasses instead of a shield. YOu can access your ears in the Bells, but have to remove the chin bar first. You can take off the chin bar completely for biking. You can hookup a comms unit. You do get a peak visor. The Beam just seems like a casual grab and go helmet that has everything you need included, that you can use earbuds with easily. However, the fitment, quality of the padding, comfort, and overall protection look to be questionable. I think if you can hit your face through the gap between the forehead of the helmet and the chin bar, then the chin bar is kind of pointless for all but the most minor of accidents. They should really just redesign the chin bar, extend it another inch, build up its strength, and make it easier to slip the thing on, then I think that would go a long way to resolving my main issue with the helmet. However, for over $300 usd... I better be gleefully reaching for that helmet every time I'm going out for a casual slower speed around town ride, and it better protect what it's intended to protect.
Overpriced, looks shit, lo safety and one size shell will look massive on small size head. I noticed it wobbles and not a snug fit. This is a beta knock up, ill wait for V3.0 before i even look at this. Total bollox.
Good people of the internet, hear me now. The area around your face is the only part of your entire physical being that has all five senses. It is an incredibly sensitive & important part of you. On an EUC, you're standing up, up to a certain speed, and carving on various surfaces. Whether going at a slow(er) or fast rate, YOU DON'T want to go cheap in protecting your face/head. DON'T ever care how you look, just get a good helmet that WILL protect you. You think breaking a wrist or an arm is bad...
Sorry bro but you been slipping’ lately. I got into this Euc thing through your vids ( the vsec scooter), now riding cp pro, the v12 ht, mten4 and the 18xl. Have around 30000 km (16k miles for your yankee viewers.) between my wheels. Had to check out for a bit to see if you regained your way and momentum as your channel became kinda meh ( too many colourful ‘controversies’ recently ) wouldn’t be too bad if you maintained the substance and ethos of earlier vids ( more sincère) Go back to roots as your viewers are not dumb and see when you’re peddling crap. I’ll resubscribe when you do. Najlepszego i życzę szybkiej zmiany kierunku
Hard pass for me. Like the idea, lightweight, good visibility, visor etc.. BUT to design a full face that you can break your nose - crazy. It looked like that as well though. Chin guard not ce approved as well. I would go back to the drawing board and re look at the chin guard coverage. It’s not a cheap option either. Motorcycle helmets not the most comfortable option but I would chose that 10times out of 10. Can be had for similar money as well. Add lack of padding everywhere - definite no for me. I have a Bell full face, AGV and Schuberth motorcycle helmets and will stay with them
It looks a lot like removable chin guard/MIPS systems we have already, except you can't remove the chin piece, there's no visor, and honestly the wind screen is cheesy and it looks like it's gonna generate a LOT of drag and noise. Bell, Troy Lee, Giro, so many well known and road tested brands that have lower cost economy focused hats and it's not MIPS compatible with its "hardhat" or "football helmet" size adjustment with some side patches of quasi mc helmet foam ...ugh. I'm not trying to be negative, but I'm trying to understand the choices made in the design and all I keep coming up with is "homermobile" (which honestly is a lot of products these days, trying to be novel and differentiate, and then having users go WTF?) like they took all these other independent elements and stitched them all together without really thinking it all through. Since I don't do much street riding at all, DOT etc is not something I care about, so I actually upgraded with a custom helmet. Yeah it's over 400 USD but it's also a custom carbon fiber weave (not forged, cast, or *gasp* 3D printed) - not an affiliate but if you want something wind tunnel tested, super quiet, with zero drag, widest field of view (I can drink from a cup through the front of a full face helmet lol) check out Bonehead Composites; they'll also plumb it with comms, camera mounts, etc whatever you want. Since EUC is basically flying, a skydiving helmet just seemed intuitive for me. I don't think I'm gonna hit a tree or rock any harder falling off my ride than someone would falling out of the sky lol DOT ratings be damned!
Awesome feedback Adam. The way I am going to use the helmet the conns is not so much a problem. Key things that I am looking for and I have an motorcycle helmet and the Bell Super Air R - Light weight - Visor as I dont like goggles on my downhill helmet as it presses on my nose and its uncomfortable - Light visor as sunglasses here in the uk is useless when you ride in the forest or areas where it light and then dark and light again - Field of view - Rear light is great with the brake function - My Bell Air R's cheek pads is also super small - Last key thing is the helmet as you say looks more friendly. What size did they send you the Large as I think the medium might be a good fit for me. What I would like to see and this is now more UK riding again - Top vents that can close as the bugs get stuck in there and start to walk around in your hair, drives me nuts. Also in the winter I tape it all closed as it just too cold. - Like you said a visor that closes more of the face, again this can be added on. Even a visor that goes to the chin bar. Thanks for the feedback, this one is on my list for sure.
Size Medium was reported to fit up to a 58cm size head, yet people on Kickstarter are claiming it to be too small for them and are having issues with the manufacturer not responding. ✌️
nah, even the "uncertified" tsg looks a lot safer than this. looks cheap, the amount of padding is laughable, the chin piece is basically non-existent, visor is janky. and for the price of it you can buy, not one, not two, but three proper ece 22.06 helmets (hjc c10)
I don't suggest using intercoms to listen to music from the inside of a helmet. I suggest external speakers like Tribit or others. Not safe to cover your ears with a speaker while riding, anything
What happened to, "i am not going to ride/review wheels that weigh more than half my body weight." ... Does that 108-pound/49-kilo ET-Max mean that WrongWay has been secretly putting on some weight?
That price for a non (dot/ece/fim/snell) rated helmet is shit. That is way over priced. Get something that will actually protect your head and face. It Doesn't feel like a full face helmet because its not.
Bell makes 3 interesting bike helmets that's very light and modular it's called a Bell Super R3 , Bell Super Air and Bell Super DH. Pretty good looking helmets and the most breathable helmet in the market by far 👍🏼👍🏼
This helmet is worse than hsiang's one. You complain so much about noise but then use a helmet that destroys your hearing for having your ears out in the open
I thought it was open to help you be aware of surrounding sounds. Rated for 45KM/hr mean you won't get tons of wind noise if you follow the "limits" of the helmet.
@@roghaj Seems like a gimmick to me tbh, it must be noisier than a full mtb helmet. And if you can hear more wind than surrounding sounds what's the point? But maybe I'm wrong and it''s peak engineering
Excellent review. You hit the marks i’d consider. I have a visored bicycle helmet. The drawback is the air that rides up the cheeks into the eyes and i’m sure the nose opening makes things worse. I would love a fabric ear pocket covering the ear holes to insert bt speakers if desired. I love bt speakers placed just off my ears to listen to music, answer calls, hear directions, etc. The chin bar does need a rating for those who ride faster. One wishlist item, a photocromatic visor. I have it for my motorcycle so i don’t have to carry an extra visor if it gets dark while i’m out.
It is clearly an overpriced junk. Spending 23 minutes on advertising it and stating that you don't get paid for the promo is how you loose integrity. It is so obvious he got paid it is ridiculous.
It’s a good product and I just received the helmet. No financial gains at all. Show me evidence for your theories. You find any because I didn’t get any money for it. I don’t even have affiliate links
@@mr_wrongway I am not suing you in court so I need to provide evidence. I just use common sense and share my opinion like many others. Paid or not, videos like this damage the trust the viewers have in you. My advice is to avoid them as they can impact your viewership negatively.
And by the way, the commentson your hair, what you fail to realize is that decision shows normal thinking people exactly your world view point. Normal thinking men don’t get pink hair. You need therapy, not the ones apparently being mean to you.
I wonder why you are supporting my work then. In a way you’re paying for my pink hair :) I’m definitely not normal, is anyone normal? I am in therapy because therapy rocks! Give it a shot. Empathy, friendliness and openness comes a long way.
i think we should just call them wheels, as in riding a wheel or "i came by wheel" or wheel commuting and wheelers. we won't though as this is not how language works. this is like ordering the sea not to have a tide in about 12 hours
For EUC, i would not pay more than $100 for the high end helmet. This is a waste of money IMO and the fact that it doesn't even have Bluetooth makes this worse than TSG. (Not that TSG comes with BT, but at least you don't look like a f@g wearing it.) EDIT: Watched to end of video, I change my mind. I wouldn't pay more than $50 for the high end model; $20 for the low end.
Wow, for the same money you could get kinda good motorcycle or scooter helmet that would be even more resistant at a crash (as the speeds there are more than 40km/h). This seems quite overpriced helmet to be honest.
Sure the helmet might be certified for taking hits. But it looks like it will spin around and grind your face off on those said hits. I guess it does give little bit more protections that a normal bike helmet, but with that price, it's just lacking. The visor is unnecessary, you could just wear sunglasses.
And the simple fact that you are not going to review possibly one of the most popular wheels this year, the Begode Falcon because it doesn’t have a smart BMS makes you an absolutely useless EUC reviewer.
What I have seen are the likes of yourself actively promoting 80% only charging, a sure fire way to put any group of cells out of balance really quickly. This wonderful helmet you’re so happily promoting is way more harmful to a rider than a non existent Smart BMS.
Bro we appreciate what you do for the community but some things are best left unsaid/revealed. Can you not publicize EV charging as it's beginning to effect countries where euc's & e-bikes are illegal. We're trying to keep it the next best secret but already union's are beginning to complain to EV companies about pev's utilizing the services, if this gets more exposure we can kiss it all goodbye. To work around this 2 apps have now implemented EV registration and need to detect vehicle models before charging. Soon ALL APPS will update and change their Terms of Service!! Some but not most have known and currently been using EV charging for a while but we (The Community) know not to make independent posts on Instagram & Tiktok about it, your profile get lots of attention and ppl are losing their minds in the WhatsApp chats that you're gonna kill it for us. PLEASE MAN, DON'T BE THAT GUY! We need to make this low key as possible and not mainstream. Thanks!

Will that helmet meet the high performance ET MAX standards? Thx
No hahaha
No, the safety certification is only for 28mph vehicles. You need a motorcycle helmet
Could you make a video comparing the best helmets? For different occasions, for higher speeds or lower speeds, which have the easiest locking mechanism, best values, weight class,… seems like more than enough material to make a big video, like comparing EUC’s themselves?
ET max in the background? PLS tell us about offroad performance.
I’ll tell you once I set it up for off-road use!
Nice helmet where can i buy this helmet online?
With the visor up from the front it reminds me of the old Lego helmets
Hey dude, love your videos. Can you send me the link to the one ride yellow helmet that you ate showing in this video? I really like the shape of it. I think I may buy it. Thanks.
Hey! It’s a Bell Super DH
Looking forward for a Klim F3 review!
They have MIPS version?
Yup!
1 major flaw: looks ugly 😅. Sticking to my predator helmet 😅
Lucky! I was too late to cancel after they asked for more money during the survey portion. €100+ donation to a sketchy company.
And the rule is stupid enough to forbid even bone conduction speakers…
Only helmets made for motorcycle are allowed to have them.
I rather get a real helmet with 1/3 of that price. This got the same protection as my 15 dollar bike helmet.
I don't know what you should get rid off sooner, the helmet or the pink haircut?
Ordered the helmet 8 months ago... still waiting for the delivery! 📦😩 Anyone else had a long wait lately?
Oh wow that's a super long time :/
Between this helmet and the TSG, the TSG seems waaay safer😅
Overpriced, looks shit, lo safety and one size shell will look massive on small size head. I noticed it wobbles and not a snug fit. This is a beta knock up, ill wait for V3.0 before i even look at this. Total bollox.
Bought one in january 2024 and still no delivery and no more communication from the beam.
Get a Troy Lee for ~600gr and about 300€ better than many!
You’re a fool if you think sky diving helmets are designed to save you if your parachute failed…..
Awesome feedback Adam. The way I am going to use the helmet the conns is not so much a problem. Key things that I am looking for and I have an motorcycle helmet and the Bell Super Air R
- Light weight
- Visor as I dont like goggles on my downhill helmet as it presses on my nose and its uncomfortable
- Light visor as sunglasses here in the uk is useless when you ride in the forest or areas where it light and then dark and light again
- Field of view
- Rear light is great with the brake function
- My Bell Air R's cheek pads is also super small
- Last key thing is the helmet as you say looks more friendly.
What size did they send you the Large as I think the medium might be a good fit for me.
What I would like to see and this is now more UK riding again
- Top vents that can close as the bugs get stuck in there and start to walk around in your hair, drives me nuts.
@@hrdcpy Thanks, I have also reached out to them no feedback. So no sell for me.
Oh No Not you Again , Do You Want Me too Track That Barber down LOL
*to and please stop being mean
@@mr_wrongway Fair Enough Bro I Apologise , Like Your EUC Revews and Riding
Looks like someone can’t handle criticism, especially where it’s deserved.
nah, even the "uncertified" tsg looks a lot safer than this. looks cheap, the amount of padding is laughable, the chin piece is basically non-existent, visor is janky. and for the price of it you can buy, not one, not two, but three proper ece 22.06 helmets (hjc c10)
I don't suggest using intercoms to listen to music from the inside of a helmet. I suggest external speakers like Tribit or others. Not safe to cover your ears with a speaker while riding, anything
Waaaayyyy overpriced and no good for high end EUCs
Review the new Begode falcon!
No smart bms 🥲
But why they have helmets with material that transfers cellphone audio directly through them with full safety🤷♂️
What happened to, "i am not going to ride/review wheels that weigh more than half my body weight." ... Does that 108-pound/49-kilo ET-Max mean that WrongWay has been secretly putting on some weight?
Try pоc coron air carbon
Less than 1 kg weight
Perfect ventilation
Сertification
I tried it, I didn’t like the coron air fit
Good review 👍
I want a helmet that minimizes wind noise in the ears.
Cheers
I've been waiting to hear about this one, good video
I see no attachment point for a rear view mirror.
Diese Frage war Spitze 😂
Overpriced toy, this chin guard will penetrate your throat...
So many comments making it personal?
Right? So mean ☹️
That price for a non (dot/ece/fim/snell) rated helmet is shit. That is way over priced. Get something that will actually protect your head and face. It Doesn't feel like a full face helmet because its not.
lol you might as well buy snel and survive a crash for that much money 😅… it looks like head trauma That’s why it doesn’t look like a helmet
Bell makes 3 interesting bike helmets that's very light and modular it's called a Bell Super R3 , Bell Super Air and Bell Super DH.
Pretty good looking helmets and the most breathable helmet in the market by far 👍🏼👍🏼
I had the super air r and now I’m rocking the super dh - agree!
@@roghaj have you ridden at 45km/h? I ride that on my commander pro all the effing time and the wind is unbearable. Stop spewing nonsense
Cool, buy one and take care, you’ll need it.
I've been waiting for mind for 6 months now amd about to request for a refund. Something is wrong with this Beam company!
Just received mine today in Canada.
Duży postęp z angielskim poczyniłęś w porównianiu do filmów z ~3 lat temu/ Kask jest za luźny.
Beam me up Scotty, very Futuristic ;D
Wrong moustache OK, the hair is just WTF dude.
Try being less of a prick.
Lo veo caro... hay cascos ligeros y de mejor proteccion por 60/80€... que es un precio razonable...
Agreed. He’s lost me and I used to be a big fan.
Really bad helmet :/
And by the way, the commentson your hair, what you fail to realize is that decision shows normal thinking people exactly your world view point. Normal thinking men don’t get pink hair. You need therapy, not the ones apparently being mean to you.
I wonder why you are supporting my work then. In a way you’re paying for my pink hair :) I’m definitely not normal, is anyone normal? I am in therapy because therapy rocks! Give it a shot. Empathy, friendliness and openness comes a long way.
@@mr_wrongway if your so empathetic, stop promoting products that will harm people.
Stay weird
Let you hair be your freak flag
Normal is drab !
This helmet looks great!
I've got the best name so far for the euc, it's , UnawheeL or YounaWheel.
You 'n a Wheel.
i think we should just call them wheels, as in riding a wheel or "i came by wheel" or wheel commuting and wheelers. we won't though as this is not how language works. this is like ordering the sea not to have a tide in about 12 hours
Bro do a teardown on the et max
looks stupid and has lame specs.
anything to cover that hair
Nothing worse than a lefty.
That’s just mean. You both need some therapy
@@mr_wrongway at least I’m not supporting unsafe gear.
this one looks like a toy
For EUC, i would not pay more than $100 for the high end helmet. This is a waste of money IMO and the fact that it doesn't even have Bluetooth makes this worse than TSG. (Not that TSG comes with BT, but at least you don't look like a f@g wearing it.)
EDIT: Watched to end of video, I change my mind. I wouldn't pay more than $50 for the high end model; $20 for the low end.
This looks like somebody is finally sold himself(
And if it's so- its a real pity(
Wow, for the same money you could get kinda good motorcycle or scooter helmet that would be even more resistant at a crash (as the speeds there are more than 40km/h).
This seems quite overpriced helmet to be honest.
Don't even think about ordering one, terrible customer service. I am asking for the refund, let's see how long it takes.
This would be great for my wife, who is so stupid that I insist she wear a helmet whenever leaving the house😂
Sure the helmet might be certified for taking hits. But it looks like it will spin around and grind your face off on those said hits. I guess it does give little bit more protections that a normal bike helmet, but with that price, it's just lacking. The visor is unnecessary, you could just wear sunglasses.
A, fajny.
REVOLUTIONARY!! made in china. $300 ROFL no thanks.
You reviewing this helmet makes me unfollow. Not your fault. That’s what happens when you get all the free money 😢
And the simple fact that you are not going to review possibly one of the most popular wheels this year, the Begode Falcon because it doesn’t have a smart BMS makes you an absolutely useless EUC reviewer.
Smart BMS needs to be implemented in all devices. If I keep reviewing them I’ll say it’s ok to not have them. It’s called peaceful protesting :)
@@mr_wrongway name me an instance where the nonexistence of smart a BMS has ever caused a problem for any veteran wheel?
Or any EUC for that matter.
What I have seen are the likes of yourself actively promoting 80% only charging, a sure fire way to put any group of cells out of balance really quickly. This wonderful helmet you’re so happily promoting is way more harmful to a rider than a non existent Smart BMS.
Thing looks terrible my dude.....
Thanks!
damn that helmet is ugly
Nice Review 👍🏻
Just to go shopping, ok.
For everything else, rather nothing for me.
But an unusual design for once, nice. Even if I don't like it that much 🤷🏻♂️😅
