ummm I was wondering where I could get a nice sturdy shogi board (that isn't magnetic on eBay) so that I can play on something that isn't hand made (cardboard). I live in the UK (in Wales actually a very small part of the UK) and literally no physical store I know of sells them and anything I see on-line is about £40 (this includes post and packaging). I could really use the help thank you. Love all your videos by the way, they are very helpful
holyshit it was so hectic and chaotic in the beginning these speed matches..., stones were placed so quick and imprecise O.O 3:29 relieved me tho, way better:3
germany my home country , ludwigshafen is nice too i was there for some times but shogi is a chinese game with these " stones ,, or isnt it ? well one question what was the price for the winner ?
It's the Japanese version of chess. Which is quite a bit more complicated as it has more squares due to it being a 9x9 square board instead of 8x8, in other words there are 81 squares instead of 64, on top of that there are more complicated rules involved and captured pieces can come back to life and be used by the enemy. Both chess and shogi are really good games for tactics, strategy etc but they are different enough to be known as separate games. It is valuable to understand how both work, as they can help reinforce each other due to the difference in them.
I`m love shogi
Hey, Hidetchi. They also have an annual Dutch shogi championship in The Hague. Perhaps you've heard about it.
2:56 Go Karolina!
Wow. I never thought I'd see players playing with 3 min. each on their clock! Thats okay for chess, but shogi needs more time to think!
wow,European players handle pieces much better than I think.
very nice movie :)
