These are tips on how to help make the hair color you paid for last longer and look better and healthier. these are all things I tell my new clients and most of them look at me wondering why none of their previous hairdressers told them that so I figured maybe it would be a good video. hope you like it!.

I washed the same day, lost all the colour....
My hair is dark blue so it looks black when it’s wet. Freaks me out every time because I think that I lost the color .

She's right with her advice. Rinsing your hair with cold water really makes the hair shiny. Waiting two days to shampoo your hair after you color is the best advice to keep the color vibrant. Use a color treated shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair. Don't go swimming for a few days after you color, or else you will have green hair, especially, on blonde hair. 💖

I would love for you to do a video on which tools are the least damaging for your hair! You did a video on T3 hot rollers and it sounded like there wasn’t much damage from those!
I wish I saw this video a year ago before I bleached my hair. Ended up cutting 12 inches off a year later. I was a newbie and my stylist did not educate me on aftercare.

@Danny Page lol my situation is kinda similar to yours. My parents are pretty much the same way but I moved out about 1+ years ago so I have more freedom. I eventually went home to see them with my faded black hair and they weren't really pleased but resigned lol. I would like to try some fun colors too but my family would be even less pleased lol

There are none. Even drugstore so called "color safe" shampoos strip the hair.

I have shoulder length hair and love my gray color but like to look "styled." (To decrease the amount of chemicals on my scalp, I only have highlights every 3-4 months). I told my stylist to work with, not hide my gray. I love her work. She puts in a mix of both low lights (dark color to match my dark hair) and highlights (to match my natural blonde/old highlighted blonde), then rinses with platinum blonde which matches my ever increasing wide areas of gray. The low lights allows my own hair to grow out without there being a dramatic line.

I also take Biotin, 1000 mcg. once a day. It's good for your hair, skin and nails. I have been taking it for five years now. I have seen a difference in my hair and my nails.

My hairdresser always keeps price in mind for me...I have gray and get a single process blonde every month and highlights 2-3 times a year. Lover her for recommending this. I had gone years getting color and highlight every time.

Also, some stylists have told me not to use colored shampoos and conditioners as it will mess with your intended base color when it comes to recoloring. your thoughts?
Do clarifying or chelating shampoos strip color (too much)? Or is it just me and my hard-to-cover gray? Should we use them at all with colored hair?

@@Jasmine-fp3jd im pretty sure u're supposed to go back to the salon every month or every few months (if u dyed your hair an unnatural color) but since blonde isn't unnatural ig its fine. hair dye will fade faster if you dont take care of it. my hair is pretty okay. same old same old as before and im enjoying the color. it got a little bit darker since its been 4 almost 5 months since ive gotten it dyed. as for the experience, it was rlly fun except for sitting in a chair for 30 minutes to let it set before washing. i got mine done at the salon by a proffesional and it made the experience even more fun !! its really cool. i didn't wash my hair for 5 days cuz i only got highlights. (if ur brother is gonna do his whole head or most of it, i say dont shower for a week)

i went from dark brown thick curly hair to a silverish grey and the dye made my hair completely straight and i asked my hairdresser if wetting my hair and putting in leave in curl conditioner to get my curls back was a good idea and she said i can do it. now my curls are back literally just hours after dying is that bad for my hair ? i just wanted a second opinion.

If no toner is used after highlights, is it OK to wash or at least rinse before that 48 hour mark? The cool water is a great tip!! Also, how hot is too hot for heat tools? I blow dry on warm setting and then my curling iron is usually at 350°...?

Such good info. I wonder if you recommend using a hair masque a week or so after you color? Or does that also strip the color?
The key is really just washing your hair as little as you can possibly get away with. Every time you wash and style, your color fades period. You can just slow it down with special shampoos.
How likely are highlights to strip from the hair if washed the same day? I had to because a friend’s little sister thought it would be a great idea to splash my hair with chlorine water the day of🤦♀️🙄

When I color my hair and after processing I rinse out the color in the shower and then use pureology shampoo and conditioner. Then i wait like 4 days before I wash it again. So am I supposed to not shampoo it right after the color is done processing?

hey sylvia! I have a question - when dying or bleaching hair at home I've noticed that a lot of people tend to use coconut oil under the bleach when processing - I've used jamaican black castor oil under my copper hair dye when dying at home but will it be safe to use with bleach or will I just be able to use coconut oil? Also will it affect the colour? x
