  • A shootout of these steel deck, self propelled rotary mowers from Greenworks, Ego and Weibang. Find out which one is best suited to your needs and budget.
The Greenworks is the smallest and the cheapest of this bunch but having 60V power in such a small package is a bonus for those that want a lightweight easy mower with the advantage of being self propelled to make the mowing experience very enjoyable and fatigue free. Great for small to medium lawns and suitable for all grass types. Thick Lawns? No Problem. The value winner of this bunch.
The Ego is slightly bigger and a bit more expensive accordingly. Ego ergonomics and material choice make this a great option. A little favourite of the growing sector of lawn contractors looking for steel deck toughness and quiet and powerful battery option that is less fuss and noise. The cut quality is awesome and this will mow any type of lawn from small right through to larger areas with ease. Probably the better cut of the bunch although it was very close.
The Weibang is a commercial mower that might interest the home owner with a quality build and excellent results. This is a petrol motor and I was surprised that it wasn't super noisy however long use might be well served with some ear protection. This mower will do it all and goes as low as 13mm which makes it super versatile for renovation and dethatches. and looking after larger patches of thick lawn. Although it is heavier than the other two it is easy to operate and the self propelled feature certainly helps make this a mower anyone can handle. This is the most versatile of the bunch if petrol motor is ok in your situation, just remember to do yearly services.
All these mowers are excellent value and depending on your needs and wants, I think you'll certainly have at least one off these rotary mowers on your radar..

Love the ego. Best mower we have brought so far in the past 2 years one battery isn't holding charge great but other than that it's great!

Some of my batteries are near the 5 year mark and I’m noticing they don’t hold as much charge but that’s what happens I guess.

You didn't mention the amps.... both voltage and amps count, not just one..
The thing about the Greenworks is it has a 2 year battery warranty vs the Ego which is 3 but SO many people are complaining about EGO's warranty / after sales and they've been left without a working product for many months on end as the after sales is just non existent, which has honestly stopped me buying their products as I'm in the market for a new one.
I ended up going the Ozito but the x2 18v 4amp battery is lacking so I'm going to try and up it to the same amps as the Ego (6 or even might try 8amp) and see how I go to help with cutting through thicker stuff.

@@lawnporn yeah the 36 volt 2 x 18 is what most people who dont wanna change battery platforms would love to see. All these newer battery platforms may not be around in 5 years. 18 volt batteries will always be around. One thing a lot of people don't think about.

Hey mate, love your videos very informative keep up the awesome content. Question for you or anyone that’s interested… what’s a better lawn buffalo or Tiftuf??

I prefer couch like TifTuf as you can mow it to the ground to renovate. I also like the finer leaf of couch.

I want a mower I can use for a Reno as well as regular mowing. Electric mowers just don't go low enough yet.
