Hi! I'm an opera singer. Thanks so much for spending some time to shine a light on the amazing artist who is the subject of this painting, as well as educating us on the painting itself! ✨
There was nothing not to love about this one, but when she hit that note around 1:57...! Just wow. I can only imagine what that Lincoln Memorial performance meant to her... the amount of pressure and pride. What it meant to black people of the time and even how it affects me today. I wasn't there, but it means a lot to me. I'm getting back into my tedious job search today and Marian reminds me of what I'm capable of despite those who oppose my demographic. I needed and appreciate this inspiration. Like Dr. Harris said, it's a reminder of progress being made (and the potential for more progress in my own life). Her mouth is closed, but you know there's a powerful, talented voice capable of sweeping people away. I just see potential when I look at this. 😌
In Paris, near the "Edgar Quinet" metro station (not far from "Montparnasse"), there is an hotel were lived Beauford Delaney. I think of him when I go for a walk there. Very emotional. Thank you so much for this instructive and beautiful video.
there is something different when watching from the results of your content. very inspiring for me in building a business in building my content this is a really cool to my abstract too. 😍😍❤❤
From looking at your playlist I see you are a fan of manga, anime, punk and rap. Plenty of people would say these are mistakes because they were very different to their respective mediums at the time. I disagree with them and think it's important people express themselves even when challenged by the society conventions around them. I don't enjoy a lot of modern art, but I respect it's importance and what it represents.

Modern art was a mistake

@@c7261 wish there was more people like you who felt this was about modern art instead of instantly scoffing
The response by @C was thoughtful and generous and much appreciated.
