WW2 Games Are Getting Boring

- World War II settings have become overused in video games, particularly in first-person shooters. While once captivating, the constant recycling of the same battles, enemies, and locations has led to genre fatigue. Players now crave more imaginative, fresh settings that push creative boundaries and offer new gaming experiences beyond familiar war-torn landscapes.

Why are you showing gameplay of battlefield 1 in a world war 2 video?
I feel like the biggest issue with World War II games is that they always relegate themselves to Western Europe. It gets really REALLY boring fighting in the same French hedgerows over and over. What I want to see is more Pacific Theater games, which would provide a myriad of different gameplay elements that could be employed in such a different setting that saw drastically different combat compared to the overdone western front, and would allow for a different, darker tone that the usual stories of camaraderie and brotherhood seen in most World War II shooters simply miss the mark on. The one game that I felt touched on this was Call of Duty: World at War’s campaign, although it didn’t have enough time to truly explore its themes in its short runtime.
I feel a similar way with Western Europe being used way too much. I'd like to see more of the Pacific Theater be mentioned too but also not just the island campaign and some of the Second Sino Japanese War too since there seems to be almost no video games about it. There's some other conflicts of the 1930s I'd like to see be mentioned also such as the Second Italo-Ethiopian War and the Spanish Civil War.
Tbh I think there are lots of Pacific WW2 games already, but not overdone as Western Front (World at War, MoH: Pacific Assault, Rising Storm, etc.) Try some more unique locations that are set in China, Mongolia, Yugoslavia, Sub-saharan Africa, Greece, Finland, French Indochina, or Iraq. I bet it will make people got interested in WW2 settings again.
Boring? I'd love to go back to WW2 shooters over the absolute trash we get these days. This was a conversation we were having way back in mid 00's. I feel like you're LTTP here.
0:02 uhhh thats bf 1...
says battlefiled 5 then shows gameplay from ww1 shooter bf1
I was about to comment about that
I swear to god, most of modern game devs these days don't like to taking risk to make something fresh and original settings for war, i'm already tired doing a beach landing in Normandy over and over again.
There are lots of brutal and lesser-known real life conflicts that are more interesting such as: Yugoslav Wars, El Salvadoran Civil War, Nicaraguan Revolution, Mozambican Civil War, South African Border War, Ethiopian Civil War, Spanish Civil War, Iran-Iraq War, Congo Crisis, Falklands War, Turkish Invasion of Cyprus, Yom Kippur War, French-Indochina War, Chechen War, Soviet-Afghan War, US invasion of Panama, Portuguese Colonial War, Biafran War, and many more. They act like WW2 was the only conflict that exist lmao.
"ww2 games, ww2 games, ww2 games." While showing BF1. I've seen enough, not a lover of this genre. So why should I watch a biased video?
ww2 is an incredibly overly-saturated setting
heey i feel like we've talked about this in 2006
It’s oversaturated but when was the last time we got a good WW2 game? It’s been forever. Maybe Enlisted? But that’s niche in itself and a lot of people don’t like it. I still play World at War now as that’s the only one good enough
The fuck are you on about, they may be boring for you but not everyone else.
WW2 games already died off about 15 years ago and have only just started to resurface again.
I watched the whole thing. I don't know if he's serious or it's satire. Help.
CoD2 alongside Max Payne 2 was my childhood
Nope Hell let loose is the only game I play nowadays. I find everything else repetitive
Only ww2 game I liked was cod waw despite it's historical inaccuracy.
Thats what you get when game developers focus on ww2 lite. Almost zero coverage from the brutal eastern european and asian campaigns.
"WW2 Games Are Getting Boring"
Me in men of war just now: YEAH! VIVE LA FRANCE STOP THOSE GERMANS FROM REACHING PARIS!!!!!
Come on man, you can't lump in Wolfenstein under this context.
The only way they could make a comeback is by making an edgy game that has great gameplay, physics, gore and story that has no bs modern politics in it at all.
Id take ww2 games (even if its another western front setting) over the hero shooter bs that keeps coming out
Give me WW2 over modern day or futuristic jet pack rubbish any day of the week.
your opinion is wrong, there is not enough ww2 games
Videos about WW2 games getting boring are getting boring
L take
is this satire?
