Has anyone serviced the PTO GEARBOX? I cannot find a drain plug on my Toro 7000 Z Master Diesel. I can only find a fill plug on the rear of the PTO GEARBOX. Do you have to take the belt pulley off and the bottom cover plate of the PTO GEARBOX in order to drain the gear oil out?

Could you share some info on cleaning your tanks and screens. I just picked one up and need to do mine.

I blew some air through mine, but I'm curious how to get those out of the tanks as well. I haven't found a good way yet...

@@davidmcclellan4621 Yes I will do a video on it. Taking the tank off itself is relatively simple. The part I had to figure out was getting the nipple for the fuel line put back through the tank the right way. You cant go through the bottom. Only through the fuel opening. In short, I tied fishing line around the nipple, then tied a sinker to the other end. I would work the sinker through the bottom hole of the tank and pull the nipple on through.

Do you still have this mower? I found one locally and I might buy but scared of the age

The video you produced was very helpful. I too own an identical 2006 like yours, though believe it or not, mine has not seen the replacement heavier belt/pulley combo added and I am very interested in doing this to ours.
If you don't mind, please send me the name of the shop who sold you the parts. Or, if you have the part numbers handy, I'd very much like a parts list for the upgrade you performed.
Greatly appreciated, and thanks so much for taking your time with the full coverage video. Very nicely done!

DaddyODylan I’m thinking about buying a 1211 with the rear discharge deck next year but might go with the side discharge

I have the same mower that I’m replacing parts as I have time and extra cash. It has under 600 hrs but was not cared for correctly. I had the same issue with bogging down after running a while, it would idle up momentarily when I switch tanks then bog again under load. I removed the screens in the tanks, they were completely collapsed. I’m still having a bit of a problem with bogging, this time it seemed to start loosing some power after cutting about 45 minutes. Only thing I haven’t replaced is the filter/water separator (ordered the wrong one...) mine is serial # 240000385. Any ideas why it would loose power like this? I put an inline filter but thinking I may need to replace the water separator too...

Could be the pitcock (switch for tanks) Try running one tank directly to the lift pump and bypass the pitcock. They can get clogged internally.

DaddyODylan I recently replaced that part as well, but I guess it’s possible that it’s already clogged? Also, I notice no change when I switch from left to right tank. Before I removed the screens It would momentarily pick up power when I would switch from one to the other.

jleechevy I would run a brand new line from the tank (with screen removed) straight to the lift pump with with all new filters. Take the line off the exit end of the lift pump and turn the key to make sure it’s pumping fuel out. If it is, hook it back up with a new line to the injection pump. If it’s still having issue I would say it’s an injection pump issue. Sorry for the headache!
