Oh so beautiful, magnificent scenery! I saw what looked like a wild cat in the highlands of the Motatapu Alpine track, behind you. huge effort climbing very steep slopes!!
@@onthetrailnz Hi Jared, was there an old gold stamping mill in Macetown, I was there in the early 1970's & there was one that had a roof over it to help preserve it?
Hi, there were signs saying there were a few stamping batteries further up the valley a bit. I think the closest one was about 20 minutes each way from where I was in Macetown, so I decided just to continue!
What beautiful country Jared (until you get to the weird alleyway entry into Q'town)! I have never tramped in that sort of country, but it reminded me of nassella tussock grubbing days in North Canterbury when I was at school - especially the caress of matagouri on bare legs! Lovely long views, sunny days, and excellent huts. We have often stayed at Glendhu Bay campground, but I had no idea the Motatapu Track started just around the corner.
Yes, it was definitely a beautiful part of the country! The Glendhu Bay campground looked nice - I met a few people on the Motatapu that had stayed there the night before.
Great video, amazing scenery..... maybe one of my favourite videos of this series so far
Thanks - glad you enjoyed it!

It was another beautiful part of the country. Yes, there was a wild cat in the video - well spotted! I saw a few of them along that track.
@@onthetrailnz thanks 😊
The colours are stunning.
Yeah really nice to see the autumn colours around! Thanks for watching!
Amazing scenery thank you for another awesome video. Parts looked like a right goat track with step drop offs!! Well done on your journey so far!
Yeah there were some pretty interesting sections of track!
Very beautiful. Some of track looked extremely thin in places....the shot over is such a picturesque river. Looking forward to the next installment
Yes another beautiful part of the country and definitely some interesting parts to the track!
Another enjoyable video of some of the great country in the mainland, well done

Thanks for watching! Yeah it was pretty steep and some interesting sections of track!
You sure can smash out those km mate. Great effit
Yeah that was definitely a long day out of Wanaka up to Highland Creek!
Spectacular weather - how did u manage that!!
I was so lucky with the weather the whole way through! Really fortunate when you see what other parts of the country were going through.
I hope you run for Prime Minister of NZ.
I don't have a communication degree yet!
Tracks are often irrational. Develop your own routes as a true bushman. Next time mate
Yeah I've done a bit of off track adventuring!
