Brooklyn is a yes. Park Slope, Fort Greene, DUMBO, Prospect Heights are all good neighborhoods with a lot around them. Also, insanely close to Manhattan. They're making new buildings around the Atlantic Terminal so not only you have so many shopping centers around you but so many train and bus options if you need it. I love it here

She is rushing tho.. she tryna move out by the end of February 😩 she need more time to weigh her options & not just rent on impulse like she’s been doing
Downtown Brooklyn has changed a lot. It is like an extension of Manhattan now. Downtown Brooklyn, Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn Heights, Fort Greene, Park Slope,Williamsburg would definitely suit your tastes.
I live in Bushwick and I luv it!! Its very artsy if you are into that and there are bars and cafes on every corner. But I would also suggest Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Fort Greene, Park Slope and certain parts of Bed Stuy, Flatbush and Crown Heights. Stay away from Brownsville and East New York please. Have you thought abt Queens? Long Island City is up and coming and they have some beautiful apartments that definitely fit your style and taste.
I’ve been a sub since your high school days and I love your content but..you come off a little lost since graduating school. You seemed to be more focused and goal oriented oppose to now. Your sit down talk about want you want out of life doesn’t really match what your vlogs portray. I guess you’re at a point of trying to figure out what you want your content to be and playing with different types of videos(which is cool, I supported to content with Lou) but it’s confusing to most. I think you need a hobby..or maybe try ya hand at planning events speaking to young people about education and entrepreneurship or you could even consider a tour for your book. At this point you seem to be going in circles or stagnant. I know you have it in you girl! It’s all a phase and In due time you’ll figure it out.
I’m so excited to see different parts of New York! I’ve never been but have always wanted to see. It’ll be really cool to see the different vibes each place gives. Would love to know how close each spot you go to is to the city and what the average rent is just to see how each area differs! Love you Jayla! You got this sis! 💖✨👑✨💖💄💋🏙🗽
Justin is wildin lol. Downtown is not the hood. FORT GREEN is the hood lmboo. They’re right next to each other so you have to be careful. He forgot about Clinton Hill. It’s really nice in Clinton Hill. Plus it’s close to downtown
Fort Greene is not the hood. There are projects there but there is another part that's hella nice and expensive. I used to live there on S. Elliot Pl and it was beautiful.
I know it’s pricey but Willy B is the move if you don’t mind the train shutdowns on weekends. I used to live in “East Williamsburg” and there’s a lot of modern development happening as far as apartments go. I currently live near the border of Bushwick and Ridgewood and it’s such a nice area, all the hot bars, crazy nightlife lol, so much fun, plus it’s 30 minutes to Midtown Manhattan.
The rent is crazy expensive out there! I don't even pay half of what the rent is in NY for a four bedroom. I loved the white subway tile in the bathrooms
As long as the place ain’t extremely bad for crime I’m good. I’m from london 🇬🇧 and every time I go to NYC I stay in an air bnb in the east Flatbush area. I love love love it there I feel so safe it’s crazy and theirs banging Jamaican food around which makes it feel like home in Brixton. Then theirs loads of delis and it’s good for transport too. I would Defoe move there or somewhere near by
I am a native Brooklynite for 30+ years.Jayla, just do your research and you'll be okay. I find many luxury apartments here are built in the neighborhoods that are rougher or were once rougher. The neighborhoods I suggest (some are residential and DON'T fit ur criteria but I'll list them anyway.) I recommend Brooklyn Heights, Marine Park, Sheepshead Bay, Greenpoint, Flatlands, Today's Downtown Brooklyn, (it's better now), Greenpoint, Clinton Hill, Dumbo, Gowanus, Mill Basin, Bergen Beach, Midwood, Carrol Gardens, Park Slope, Madison, Homecrest, Georgetown. I have no other suggestions. With that said, I'm sooooo over Brooklyn and desire to live in a more surburban area somewhere.
Just be careful of the trend you're setting for yourself, I know u can afford it and u want what u want, but seriously understand that when u move in a matter of months there will be something u find u don't like about it. Just don't keep moving around so much because you'll develop a trend for yourself that nothing will satisfy you long term. I'm just saying out of love. Wish you all the best
I know nothing about NY. Born n raised in Southern California, but I love watching apartment n house hunting videos. Good luck to you, I’ll be watching
Ok Jayla after deep thought, if you don't move back uptown consider Park Slope, you would have to figure out what part because the area is large, but it definitely has the qualities you're looking for. Check out the areas off of 5th 6th 7th and 8th aves also
I'm a New Yorker, born & raised & idgaf how much money you make $4000+ for RENT is outrageous...That's when it's time to OWN. These property owners just getting rich off these renters & it's insane. I wish you luck in your search cuz I know it's hard to find something decent size, good area & affordable in NY. Just don't get got by these friggin leaches called property owners /landlords.
You should also look into Port Imperial, Weehawken or Edgewater, New Jersey. Nice luxury apartment rentals and condos on the water. 10 minutes across the river to Manhattan by Ferry. Short drive by car. You will be able to park and drive your car. Spacious apartments. Just across the river from Manhattan.
Definitely take us along on your apartment hunting journey. Be sure to visit your new location at various times before your final decision; think about safety, Jayla, in addition to location, size, amenities, and price point.🤗🌹
Jayla I recently got your book Pretty & Educated and Can I say I loved every bit of it! I am in college currently and your book had some really good tips thanks for sharing and plus the design on your book was amazing I loved it !
I’m born, raised and living in Brooklyn. Brooklyn is not what it used to be. It’s definitely gentrified. I would suggest Williamsburg, Brooklyn heights and park slope. They’re more safer options and closer to the city. They also have shopping areas and a decent night life. Moreover, it’s very common for NY renters to move yearly. You want to find the best bang for your buck. Also keep in mind Jayla can afford to pay a little more.
Cobble Hill, Park slope, Windsor Terrace, Fort Greene, Brooklyn Heights, Bayridge and dumbo. All the safest neighborhoods in Brooklyn. The rest are in between (some parts are safe, cross the street and yeah, no), Brownsville, East New York, parts of Red hook and Bushwick are just plain ghetto. Be safe girl
Right, n im crying about my $1930 rent, that shit would be a walk in the park for Jayla, I'm a conductor with 3 kids, i might as well be on welfare cus the struggle is real, every month i have to pay rent i get depressed!!!!
LIC, Queens...Greenpoint, BK...North and South Williamsburg, BK...Downtown, BK, Park Slope BK, Dumbo are all great locations with quick access to and from the City.

Yes can be expensive. But, the NY vibe is great. If NY is where you want to be, then budget and find what suits you!
Thank you Jayla for taking time to show and explain the different areas , I enjoy these type of vlogs & I find them very helpful ! ❤️
I love it here
we all know you not doing a studio lol
Jayla, girl you know damn well we want to see you house hunt! We live vicariously through you! Loved this video!
“ WE AT APPLEBEES , YOU NOT GETTING NO PREMIUM FISH “ 😂😂😂😂😩😩
Relocating to NY & I really appreciate the transparency in the price of the apartments along with the good and bad areas of NY 💞 this helps a lot!
I just moved here in September and the apartment search was 😫 good luck with your move. If you are looking for new friends so am I! 😊
Ashley Stewart I definitely will!!
$2500 for a duplex: 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom, upstairs loft space, central air, dishwasher, washer and dryer in.... East New York. Yes I hear gun shots at night. Yes I keep my head on the swivel when walking from the train to my door. Yes I have machete(s) at the door and btwn my mattress.
But nothing beats running the washer, dishwasher, and taking a hot bath at the same damn time!
Get Out Of Your Way the pink houses! Lawd! I remember venturing over there for $5/6 Tuesday's at linden blvd movie theater.
Félicité Jasmín because I would be new to the state I don’t think I can live like that I can pay the price for a peace of mind. I still keep a machete tho.
Honestly Brooklyn is not how it use to be, but I hope you find an apartment that makes you happy.
U deserve the best sis !
I think she has too much money and she does not know what to do with it
I think this time around you’ll find what your looking for because you have time and not rushing. I’m excited to see these apartments/condos.
She is rushing tho.. she tryna move out by the end of February 😩 she need more time to weigh her options & not just rent on impulse like she’s been doing
Jayla you got this...it's already done. LETS GO!!!
Downtown Brooklyn has changed a lot. It is like an extension of Manhattan now. Downtown Brooklyn, Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn Heights, Fort Greene, Park Slope,Williamsburg would definitely suit your tastes.
Damn New York is expensive 🤯
Stacyann J it is and for not a lot of space.
New York seems fun and a great place business but damn is it worth it !
Prospect park would be perfect for Jayla. It's so her!!
I’m so excited to see different parts of New York! I’ve never been but have always wanted to see. It’ll be really cool to see the different vibes each place gives. Would love to know how close each spot you go to is to the city and what the average rent is just to see how each area differs! Love you Jayla! You got this sis! 💖✨👑✨💖💄💋🏙🗽
Justin heard chicken tenders not real meat because it's no bone.. somebody help him lol
Justin is wildin lol. Downtown is not the hood. FORT GREEN is the hood lmboo. They’re right next to each other so you have to be careful. He forgot about Clinton Hill. It’s really nice in Clinton Hill. Plus it’s close to downtown
ARoseGrewInBrooklyn the school kids downtown makes it “ghetto”. It was the ghetto kids hangout spot lmaoo
Fort Greene is not the hood. There are projects there but there is another part that's hella nice and expensive. I used to live there on S. Elliot Pl and it was beautiful.
SlayTaee Lmboooo. Them kids was hella annoying! But I still wouldn’t call the area ghetto
spirtguide oh right! I was thinking past Myrtle lol. I went to school at Brooklyn Tech so yes I know it’s some really nice places over there!
@@dlcrme Exactly you step right out of Fort Greene into Clinton Hill on Myrtle Ave lol
So glad you’re going for what you will be happy with! Love the apartment tours/hunting content, gets me inspired to get my own 😂❤️
TashaiKelisa samee
Plain Mariah we will get there girl! ✨✨
Good luck on your search! I enjoyed watching your other apartment searching videos.
Thanks for just keeping it real and sharing the prices with us. I realize people don't like people in their pockets but it is helpful information.
You did all that decorating just to move again 😂😂😂 gotta love Jayla ❤️
Yay congrats again J! I'm too in the pursuit.
The rent is crazy expensive out there! I don't even pay half of what the rent is in NY for a four bedroom. I loved the white subway tile in the bathrooms
Chelley Royston and you have to make 40-45X the rent to even make the phone call for availability.
I would Defoe move there or somewhere near by
supporting you w/ any decision that you make sis!
One of my favorite youtubers
Yo I love moving vlogs!! They make me feel so grown and classy lmaooo
Matildyyy 💯🤩
I know nothing about NY. Born n raised in Southern California, but I love watching apartment n house hunting videos. Good luck to you, I’ll be watching
good luck pretty lady on your new move you can do it .. you go girl!!!
Ok Jayla after deep thought, if you don't move back uptown consider Park Slope, you would have to figure out what part because the area is large, but it definitely has the qualities you're looking for. Check out the areas off of 5th 6th 7th and 8th aves also
That cream outfit! Jayla you are gawwgeous 💚
RIGHT when I was thinking about you you posted!!
Your apartment looks way better than those 😩 but your looking for location so I get it!! I’m excited to learn about NYC 🤗
Yes, I'm here for it!
Yesssss I love apartment/house hunting vlogs! Keep me coming!
I had exactlyyyy the same experience in Harlem, girl go get your life + live where you want to!
The glow in that sun girl!
Wow! I love you THIS much!
Good luck Jayla finding the right location to meet your lifestyle needs. 😍
I love these moving vlogs! Getting a peek into NYC real estate ❤️! Nice video!
$4500 for rent 😩Sheeeesh 😭
Right, n im crying about my $1930 rent, that shit would be a walk in the park for Jayla, I'm a conductor with 3 kids, i might as well be on welfare cus the struggle is real, every month i have to pay rent i get depressed!!!!
Lovely K it's sad that the people we need to make NYC function can barely afford to live here
She got like that
We get paid more in New York so it evens out
I just think 4500 for renting a living space is absurd. NY gotta chill 😬
Well I’m excited for this next journey!
LIC, Queens...Greenpoint, BK...North and South Williamsburg, BK...Downtown, BK, Park Slope BK, Dumbo are all great locations with quick access to and from the City.
Yessss so excited for these next few vlogs! Love your moving series! I definitely understand your decision to move!
we love the apartment hauls and thanks for putting up the price!!!
