The moment he says got lost in the mix. And you remember the 1000times you got lost in the mix and you made it worse - but you reallized much later because your ears were dead. :D
Young guru working on j stones all or nothing from his newest project which is the definition of loyalty. Don't know the sample but I know this song #LongLiveNipHussle. #AllMoneyInNoMoneyOut. TMC
This is GOOD ADVICE. Sometimes to achieve similar, i duck the sample with the vocals, so that it always sits on top nicely. Cutting with EQ is equally useful.
You can do this and a slight vocal side-chain on the sample for that frequency range in FL-Studio as well. You'd use Frequency Spliter or EQ 2 along with Stereo splitter in Patcher. Same results as what's outlined here. Thinking about doing a tutorial or uploading a free patcher preset if there is interest.
Also, if you have the ability to do so, please support Waves and purchase the EQ. I know I was strapped for cash starting out and needed to figure out the tools at my immediate disposal.
Very cool, often heard about mid-sides EQ. But on our way to becoming better producers we also hear about a lot of other things... resulting in me still having not tried this :) This video really encourages to do so, thank you!!
That's where one should consider getting their music mix and mastered from the professionals and the artist should focus on creating music. You don't have to know any of this stuff to be able to create great music but releasing it to the world in a standardised format is where you need a mixing and mastering engineer.
google Neutron/Nectar by Izotope- they have an automated intelligence do it it for you. It's their marketing deal. Every other word they says since 2016 is "unmask..unmask..unmask"....
@@massivebeatzz The only good thing that came out of Neutron is the transient designer , everything else is just too sterile and robotic , and using it will guarantee you never learn how a plugin actually works if you're a beginner
This is golden advice, especially for anyone recording their vocals to two-tracks. Guru and Waves coming through with the cheat codes!!
That side mix tip in f6 is gold
Can we see more of Guru?

This is something I'm starting to do for my mixes now. Something I didn't realize I need before.
I do not like rap but I like your way of teaching! You are straight forward and very good with your demonstration of mid/side eq. Thank you!
What a time to be alive...
I remember working with Guru at USC a few times. He's all about subtractive eqing. Ever since then, I've been on it

Thank You Young Guru and Waves 🙌🙌🙌🙌 Very Helpful Video🔥🔥🔥🔥.
So clear and concise. I needed this
Great song explained by a great mind. Doing it is one thing - explaining it with focus, and hands -on approach (versus "magic") is another!
Whats the song?
@@GV_777YT the song is - All or Nothin' by J Stone ft. Dave East
@@curtiscole9151 thank you!
That Jstone! Still runnin laps🏁🏁🏁

I swear I can hear the sample wrapped around the vocals. Vocals are sitting right where they need to be.
I guess I am quite off topic but does anybody know a good site to stream newly released tv shows online ?
@Ameer Jase Flixportal :P
@Kameron Ronald thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) I really appreciate it !!

As in a form of sidechain compression?
@@itzcapondabeat Yup, ducking can be sidechain compression and vice versa. Try it out!
Now i feel like going back to all my old mixes. 🙆🏾♂️
Its always fun.
great tutorial, gonna try this in my mixes, thanks a lot.
You’re right I heard it , good tutorial

Great Video
Damn! that sample sound so good! 🤟🏿🤟🏿
Do you actually need to have a center monitor to mix in M/S?
No, left and right equally gives you a center projection.
I like this guy
Why is this channel so underated?

All of this stuff sounds like a foreign language to me lol. Guru clearly knows his stuff.

@@Hassan_Omer Perfectly said. Its to much to be PRO at both. Focus on one thing. :)
he could go even way further by using multiband eq on the mid's so its only ducking when the vocal is play"d etc etc
Dope nice N' short tip thank u Young Guru
Thank you!
More GURU pls !

Is this on the beat or the vocals?
What’s a good plug-in for this type of side/middle eq? Are there any free ones to try?
Try the F6 eq, the one he's using in this video, not free but very very good imo - www.waves.com/plugins/f6-floating-band-dynamic-eq
